how to i feel my obliques when i’m doing the side leg raises? i only feel my outer thighs burns like crazy instead :(
This exercise definitely targets the outer thighs as well, so you will always feel it in that area too. However, what really helps me in this one is when I 1) imagine that my legs are suuuper heavy and I 'need' to lift them up with the strength of my obliques, so it really is a lot about mind-muscle connection. You can also try to 2) push the other side of your obliques into the mat to engage your side abs a bit more. 3) You can also move your legs a little bit forward towards the front edge of your mat and see if that helps. 4) Slow down the movement and do less reps and really focus on the engagement in your obliques. 5) It also might be uncomfortable on your hip, so you can try to put a pillow or blanket underneath your hips and see whether it makes a difference!
