At this point, Nvidia is trolling us.
The used AD103 is cut down too much and doesn't even end up in the middle between 4070 Ti and 4080, let alone the upcoming faster 4080 Ti.
At this list price, we should expect a good 4k card, not a 1440 card that can do 4k decently well.
The whole new lineup is still $100-$150 too expensive.

The big problem I see with these cards is that are way overprized, because, let's be real, the 4070 ti is in reality a 4070 and the 4070 is a 4060, and paying $700 for a "real" 4070 super is way too much, also paying $550+ for a "real" 4060 is pure madness!

RTX4070 user here... not upgrading until at least 2030.
I was really happy with my GTX1080 for many years, and for about 20 years I always got the FASTEST card I could. Not this time as I can't justify the high end anymore due to diminishing returns etc. My GTX1080 started to get a little long in the tooth for a few games like Spider-Man Remastered. Right now I'm playing modded SKYRIM and at worse my GPU usage is 50% (before on my GTX1080 I got a few stutters due to my texture mods, but not now). My Ryzen 3000 CPU means that getting a faster GPU is problematic due to CPU bottlenecking (varies by game but on average a problem). So rather than UPDATE this system I plan to ONLY buy new games that run well on it. I only have so much time, and frankly I seem to mainly play Skyrim, Baldur's Gate 3 and a few other games that are so fun and run GREAT on my mid-range system I just have no incentive to buy another game for a long time anyway. A new monitor? Sure. A new gaming PC? Meh... assuming The Elder Scrolls 6 is good, let's see... release in 2028? Then two years to iron out the major bugs? 2030!

I'm certain your 4070 will not last nearly as long as your 1080ti did. That was an exceptional card. It leaped over its previous generation when raster was king. I predict the next gen middle class will make the 4070 not hold up well for the same, or even less money. How do I make this prediction? History. The 1080 followed a rather weak 980. Look at the 2080 performance and its price jump. It led to a 3080 with a comparatively bigger performance jump for less money. Supply is the thing that ruined that gen for us. Now, the 4080 was a desaster. The 5080 will be a bigger jump for less/same money putting pressure on lower cards as the 30 gen did. You will probably buy a new card in 2027, if you are very patient but many people in your position will already buy next year. I think. Or, maybe I'm completely off, but I doubt it. Greetings.

While the 4070ti Super may have not been the 16GB powerhouse some had expected it is the sweet spot. It's a very capable 1440/4K GPU. I can't think of too many games where a 4090 needs DLSS or maybe even a 4080 too. So the 4070ti Super can use/need that feature to make 4K a very plausible option. In other words, DLSS augments the 4070Ti Super well where you don't need to spend 4 digits for a 4K GPU.

I found out that the ASUS TUF RTX 4070TI Super variant is $850. It’s seems like it’s decent. However the 7900XT will get a price cut down to $650. This means for $200 less I can get 20GB VRAM on a 320 bit memory bus, better raterzation performance, and better value. The drivers form AMD have improved a lot. They rarely bug out and when they do it’s very easy to fix it by simply restarting the service and or using a stable driver. Also VR on AMD has been getting good as well. I tried the Quest 2 with link cable and it worked flawlessly. Also the index also works well with it as well. So Unless I see the RTX 4070ti super get a $150 price cut down to $700 I’m sticking with AMD.

i choose the ti super any day. the raster performance is the same. The games tested are always either amd or nvidia biased, like in horizon zero dawn where the ti super beat the xt or then in call of duty where the xt beats the ti super. the average is just out of these games, so if there are more amd biased games included its gonna be a win for amd and if there are more nvidia biased games included nvidia will win. timespy doesnt really say the exact gaming performance, and having a 700 points difference can easely be achieved with an oc.

Let's be honest, how many actually buy an Nvidia card for pure rasterization? It's mostly for RT and maybe DLSS + Frame Gen (DLSS3). Otherwise, if you don't care about any of that, the AMD cards are way better value. In that note, I find a lot of these pure rasterization comparisons are not very helpful, especially for someone that wants to utilize the cards to it's full potential with all the software support. I'm hoping there's a full review with everything turned on.

I bought a new system with a 7900 XTX last week. The 7900 XTX had a price tag of €1.000 (cheapest 4080 was around 1.420 EUR). Looking at the price of this 4070 ti Super ($800), it will be 20% more expensive here, so that would mean a price tag of around €960 EUR. So basically 40 EUR cheaper than a 7900 XTX. 40 EUR less for a card that's 25% - 30% slower than the 7900 XTX in rasterization... Yeah no... sorry... this is ridiculous...

@@nekro9119 Actual ray tracing is only viable on the 4080 and 4090. You really think that developers will waste their time with only implementing ray tracing modes in their games. If they do it's bye bye to their sales on PC because not everyone will have 1000+ dollar card. And consoles won't be able to run it properly for a long time either. 1. Because realistically they're not going to be able to put anything in the next console generation that is actually decent in terms of ray tracing performance and 2. It's AMD that makes the GPUs in the consoles.
Who in their right mind would want to suffer such a big penalty to their framerate to play with ray tracing on? People on high refresh monitors? No. People with a mid-range or lower graphics card? No. People that actually still want some performance at high native resolutions? No.
You want to play with ultra textures at a high resolution? Good luck with these 12gb and 16gb cards in 2 - 4 years. Those will be outdated way more quickly than rasterization will.

Sure, if you are 30+ years old and living with your parents subsisting on your sole income of a paper route the pennies might be important and will not be canceled out by efficiency since daddy pays the electric bill. But if techtubers insist on including it at least use the MSRP of the cards since sales come and go and something a competitor might do to mute a launch probably is not going to stick around.
