    People giving a lot of flack against 4070 TI Super but that 4GB VRAM and wider bus really helps in 4k gaming. If you want good 4k gaming but don't want to pay 1k then get the 4070 TI Super.

    As an itx builder smaller single or dual-fan gpus are of interest to me 🥰👍.
    Zotac nearly got it right with their RTX4070 (non-super) twin edge model ….. it just needed about 3mm cut off the plastic shroud to be a perfect fit for my sff HTPC for both gaming and streaming needs 💪🧐😇👍.
    At this current GPU cycle, Nvidia, and AMD need to drop their current MSRP/ RRP of their mid range ~$500 by a good $100USD and their higher end ~$800 by $150USD with these refreshes etc imo to make them worth while.

      $50-$100 difference is about right for the 2 cards to be competitive with each other. That's right about where AMD and Nvidia like to keep it for cards in the same class. Although while I decided on 4070 Super over the 7800XT, here I think the 7900XT is the better buy.

    I just bought Gigabyte version you have here. Your review help me with that. I am testing it now, but there is some room for overclocking, it is quite, good looking, but for me most important was 261mm length, because I can´t put big cards in case. I had previous card watercooled. But..so far I am not sure if there will be waterblock for this card. On the front side of card are three screw holes, but there wasn´t any holder in package.

      @@stangamer1151Actually many predicted it's gonne be close with 4080, and gonna smoke 7900xt on raster, and makes sense when you consider stat improvement, but in reality it's closer to 4070ti rather than 4080.

    • @stangamer1151
      @stangamer1151 7 месяцев назад

      @@tomthomas3499 Taking into account the fact that 4080 Super will be just ~5% faster than base 4080, it was naive to think that 4070 Ti Super would get close to 4080. Nvidia needs to segment their products, so that the difference in performance between all 3 Supers was roughly the same. This way they offer $600 GPU, 20% faster $800 GPU and another 20% faster $1000 GPU. Lower end one must be the best product in terms of value. Higher end one must be much faster, to make people buy it. The middle one is neither here, nor there.

      @slickvibez16 7 месяцев назад +7

      Still disagree. For those of us that want more VRAM, to run RT (finally), and upgrading from earlier than 3000 series, it’s a nice card. Dan Owen shows with Alan wake 2 that new games with RT easily push past 12 GB VRAM which is a trend likely to continue. Before you say to go for the 4080 super, sure, that’s an option, but that’s another $200+, not always small form factor compatible, not as efficient. I think the 4070 ti super isn’t AS great as we’d hope but it’s a decent uplift in 10% and for $800 buckaroonies it’s fine. I think the 4070 super for $600 is overpriced and going up to 4080 super for $1000 is what Nvidia wants you to do (and is not in the budget for some peeps). 4070 super at $450 would be a no brainer purchase. TI super at $650 ideally.

  • @Mopantsu
    @Mopantsu 7 месяцев назад +1

    Steve at HUB said it best. VRAM won't affect framerates much and the ONLY way to judge is to look at texture quality Easily demonstrated in games like Halo Infinite at 4K max settings. A 12GB GPU will struggle and look bad even though the framerates for the Super and Non-Super would be the same. VRAM is not about more FPS but better quality textures!

    • @eTeknix
      @eTeknix  7 месяцев назад +3

      The other thing is how you can reduce from max settings to just “high” and likely not notice the difference aka diminishing returns which would help with the VRAM constraints.

    Well this certainly deserves a subscrition, even as I unsubscribe to almost all the bigger tech reviewers. So why? Because your numbers reflect the most accurate data that can be found on youtube is why. It's accurate above all others. You clearly painstakingly put in the work to do retesting with the latest drivers which reflect improvements over time in hardware performance with the latest driver releases. Others do not do that being lazy, including lauded sites like Tech Powerup. They are notorious for having inaccurate information in real time now. I'm a stickler for accuracy. Always have, always will be. I've been arguing for weeks that the 7800XT trades blows with 4070Ti and handily beats it half the time in rasterization performance. Of course the Nvidia fanboys scoff and have a hissy fit when I assert this. You can't tell them nothing to save them some money. They are bent on feeding Nvidia their last dime. It's like they have a gambling addition and it now resembles a mental illness. Your numbers verify my findings and reflect what I too am seeing at home. Great job!

    I think in a couple of weeks when we get new drivers from Nvidia the performance will be uplifted enough to make a good difference. Also this cards main value is the 16gb of ram where a 800$ card with 12gb is just to much. I have seen plenty of tests where at 4k the difference is about 10% on average between the old and new card. Like TPU website.
    So in my opinion it is a big win to buy this card over the old one and mine is arriving tomorrow. The Asus Tuf Gaming rtx 4070 TI S. This is a great card with low temps and even more important low noise and the Gigabyte and Inno3D are like vacuum cleaners inside your pc. As an open bench is not the real life situation and the fans will only get louder. The Windforce in that regard is a horrible card that should be avoided at any cost unless you are deaf.
