Now I use MSI RTX 4080 SUPER EXPERT and it is quiet and without any coil whine.

The TUF looks once in the setup it may even add to it but the Proart size is just a ton of convenience starting it fits many more cases then you worry less about the connector going bust by the pressure from the case walls and you have the possibility to install two making it dual GPU that I don't know how it happens without the NVLink

Id really love to see noise normalized thermal testing and noise samples. Noise is the main thing different between AIB cards, not performance.

    • @LassieRF
      @LassieRF 8 дней назад

massive agree. covering performance "differences" between aftermarket cooled cards, since they're the same card, which not non existantly varied, is so negligible at all times it's basically pointless
that said just cooling performance is a nice to have element of comparison
would be nice if cooling was specifically tested for 1080p, 1440p and 4k resolutions respectively, instead of just 1 of them, unspecified. cooling does start to matter a lot at 4k where temps get significantly higher (and noise, as fans spin faster to keep up)
all the written reviews comparing aftermaket cooled 4080s i just read also all missed the point. no noise testing anywhere, no mention of coil whine
please consider noise and coil whine testing above all, as a main focus, for every and all gpu comparison tests ever, if possible
easier said than done of course but it would be some fantastic info

I have the Asus 4080 Super Tuf Gaming, not the Pro Art. Bought it directly from Asus and it was dropped off a couple days ago. Took it out of the box and looked it over for physical damage and put it back in the box. Sitting on it until the Gen15 cpu and motherboards come out to build a new editing machine.

The ProArt 4070 Ti Super is an amazing card so the 4080 would just be a better tuned sort of version.
I'm not complaining about the 8 months of free Adobe Cloud from 2 cards and 2 SSDs I recently picked up for my editing machines either.
The RMA thing you posted about previously is just how this stuff works every once in a while. After a few decades of this you get used to those occasionally brainfart moments from companies like Asus did there.
    Great video. Love the intro.

I like your test, but have another take on the pros and cons.
Pros for the ProArt is in my opinion the size. The con is the cooling. now about the Adobe package, three months is nothing. If you are already an Adobe user then you already have the package that fit your need and budget. If you're not currently an Adobe user then it's not long enough to learn the program and really do something worthwhile, but long enough to get your hocked so you're at risk of spending a lot of money on Adobe products. As for me, a former user of Photoshop, I used the program at work using the license belonging to the company. I have not used it at home or in private.
Pro for the TUF... Big f---ing cooler and a price that's actually lower than ProArt. And yes, I'm ignoring any packages.
The size is important as it's pretty F---in huge. But if you got the space it is a better cooler than on the ProArt.
As for looks, I don't care! My computer is for use not for looks. I like closed steel boxes with no RGB at all, It's on the floor in the corner with my desk and stuff hiding it. No one cares if the components are ugly as long as they do what I need them to do. Having said that I'm obsessed with cable management. But it's not for looks but for making the airpaths open and for ease of use. If I have to change anything the cables are to be easy to handle and logically routed. Oh, and I love the hated colored cables from the PSU because the colors mean something. Just looking at a cables color you can tell what is ground , +5V or +12V. With the solid black, white or whatever other color someone use that's a pain. Now you may wonder why I would need to know that. Heck I've been a computer tech for about 40 years. I like to know what I'm looking at, and have done some interesting couplings in computers splicing into the power harness.

  • @donloder1

Weirdly enough, at least where I live, among all three Asus GPU lines the ProArt is the cheapest. Retailers in my area really think the bigger and the more RGB it has, the more expensive it should be.

Asus, meh. Oh yes the great ProArt Lineup. Where the Products cost Premium, but aren't. There is so much shit going on with ProArt Models. Keep Asus Hardware, thanks. Not even considering their drama atm. I really never understood the ASUS Hype. Is this a mostly North American thing somehow? Mindfactory in Germany even kicked out Asus years ago because of problems with their products.
