I am having my 13 years daughter watch this case for many reasons... I want her to study someone like Detective John Faine... She loves watching CSI Miami and I want her to see the reality of how the system works ...It's important to teach our children about how to read an identify master manipulators. Reading body language, linguistics, and civil rights is not taught in middle school and or High School, it's vital to protect our children from predators regardless of who they are...

Make her note the way they reel her in by saying how they understand what a terrible thing shes gone through and how its not her fault and they just want to make sure shes ok.....Then try and get her to agree to a statement that will totally screw her over ."So when the baby came out, you saw it moving yes?" Then back to telling her, how telling them everything ,is the best way to do right by the baby. They caant stress enough how they have no interest in bringing any charges against her. Imagine getting lifed off after an interview saying that.

I really HATE the way this girl was interrogated and left without any counsel. Her parents totally failed her and to me, this baby’s death is on them as much if not more than Skylar. I also think the way her OB did not advise her about the safe haven law (or whatever it’s called). It’s clear she needed help and yes she’s an adult, but she was failed at every turn.

I agree that the OB failed her. He testified that he wasn’t sure she was “taking in” anything he was saying. He should have had an RN or someone help her work past her denial and then talk to her about her options, not send her home and tell her to call back for a follow up appointment. She gave birth only two weeks from this drs appointment. I truly think she thought she had more time to figure out what to do and suddenly one night she didn’t...

      @@jennwill80 "Gave Birth" ???
I thought according to her verdict & sentencing , she just passed dead fetal tissue through the birth canal ? Which amounts to nothing to see here , but a legal pro-choice decision by a pregnant woman.
The abuse of a corpse thing , is only cuz we can't have people just burying dead bodies any ole place they want. Which I'm sure most people would agree with right ?
The real shame of this ... is that by this verdict and sentencing. We are failing to really highlight how a staunch pro-life upbringing , can very well lead to this kind of tragedy. And the new mis guided attempt under Trumpians to roll back pro-choice advances. Is very well going to lead to a rise in alleged stillbirths .
Therefore , I submit she should have been made an example of , for a lesson learned to society. On both sides.

I guess she's 18 so her mom probably can't make her, but judging by this entire situation and mess Skylar is in currently...it's all bc she was afraid to tell her mom she was pregnant. Her mom clearly has very much control over her life and what her decisions are, so I have a feeling that if the mother said "you *are* going to get your pelvic exam and make sure nothing is wrong after delivering a baby at home,by yourself,at barely 18 years old...and I *am* taking you there to make sure you go," that Skylar would jump to her mother's demands and go get the exam. You could almost hear the glee in her voice while knowingly lying to this obviously naive young woman. This entire interview stinks and makes my skin crawl. “Whatever you want, whatever you want your 18 it’s entirely your decision” but to get a lawyer. And after telling her she is going to the jail; which the detectives many times told her no, no, no after she asked if she was going to jail the female talking to her like it’s summer camp. You get to use the phone etc. going so far to making lie to her parents about burning her child. It was not her truth. It was their truth in order to lock her up. Disgusting. Lawyers know what the cops are up to and will prevent suspects from talking and or giving the cops an opportunity to coerce confessions. A confession is necessary to get a conviction when there is insufficient evidence to convict. BTW a temperature of 1,400-1800 degrees Fahrenheit is required to cremate a body.

I have a real problem with his obfuscation and manipulation and twisting of facts to fit what he wants people to believe is true. Skylar seems to me a naive, immature young girl put into a situation she didn't know how to cope with and her parents are clearly too demanding on her as if they want to live her life for her. I do not believe she killed the baby but when she gave birth to a baby in an environment where she was alone and had complications well the poor baby didn't have a chance. This is not a crime but a tragedy and the police and DA used this incident to forward their own agenda. Police want to put a feather in their hat and the DA wants more victories. Shame on everyone. Biggest lesson to learn from this whole video/trial: NEVER EVER EVER TALK TO DETECTIVES. GET A LAWYER IMMEDIATELY AND DON'T SAY A WORD....GUILTY OR NOT!! DON'T SAY A WORD! She is only being charged and sitting on trial because she talked to the detectives. I dont believe she killed the baby maliciously, but based on what she has admitted, the baby died due to actions she took, and didn't take. That's homicide. If she would have JUST told her parents she was pregnant after that Dr. APPT, I'm certain she'd be holding and loving a beautiful, precious baby in her arms right now...OR another family would be. But her actions during/immediately after caused that baby to die. She was probably gurgling because she was drowning in toilet water. Sooo heartbreaking.

That crying??? Never once did she cry out to, or for,
her baby girl. She is crying for herself.
Not, my baby girl was beautiful but she was gone. Not my baby girl was so gorgeous and I just didn't know what to do. Not my beautiful girl.
Not one bit of pity or love for the precious child that was Annabelle.
Annabelle, I remember you, even though I never saw you. I remember you sweetheart. Rest now precious child. You are loved.

They are trying to get justice for baby Annabel. She needs to be punished. If she had called 911 immediately she wouldn't be in this position. All she cared about was hiding it and pretending the baby never existed! Where are any actual tears?? She's trying to put on a good show. She's only worried about herself because she's a selfish brat.

Not only was this very difficult to hear but the closed caption was wayyyy off... unless they really were talking about Scarlett Johansson, being naked & crocheting and there was a lot of applause and when the female detective said "I'm just gonna be on the other side of this door" She really said, she is "going to the other seven stores".

She has no feelings towards the baby, very detached, doesn’t even want medical attention, just wanna continue to act like it never happened. Wants everyone to forgive, have sympathy and feel sorry for her, but she don’t have an ounce of remorse for what she did and how she treated the baby. She gave birth, buried the baby and went on about her life in a matter of hours, she is not scared or crazy, she is evil, selfish, and conniving.

  • @jpaul251

In order for the prosecution to win on the aggravated manslaughter charge, the jury must believe 2 things. 1) the baby was born alive and 2) the coroner's ruling on cause of death being homicidal violence is accurate. And if the jury, or even one juror, is sympathetic to the defendant, then it's going to be very difficult case for the prosecution to win on one of the bigger charges. Tampering with evidence, they'll get that.

    • @alexsandrawadleigh1585
      @alexsandrawadleigh1585 4 года назад

Paul Dickerson they dropped that charge I believe (at least what I read in the comments here no other verification)because the tampering was directly related to burning of the remains. Other then that she didn't tamper with evidence. The abuse of a corpse is the charge related to the burial if that is what you are referring to when discussing tampering of evidence.

Welcome to adulthood??? Laughter in the room??
I have 4 adult children. They all, as I did, did teenage things. We went through a lot my kids and I (and their father) consequences were and are a thing of course but at the end of the day there should be nothing you can't tell your parents and even though consequences will happen, first port of call is parents. Who cares what the f neighbours say, see or think?.

love and kisses I have read your posts and you sound like a very honest Lady who has respect, integrity, honesty, understanding, and I totally get you, I believe we all have choices in life 'good and bad, she made a very bad choice by killing her child and covering it up, that I believe, like yourself I will pray for little Annabelle she is in the arms of the Angels now, but this so called (should have been a mother) is nothing more than a spoiled individual who is mature enough to know the difference between life and death, she made that choice for a little infant who could not make a choice, and therefore I hope she gets punished whether it be for abuse of a corpse of the death of her own flesh and blood, as life is to Precious to bury in your own back yard.

This really hinders my belief that the police”detectives”were there to protect and serve but it’s more like protect and serve their own and not the public. This could happen to anyone people. Talk to your children let them know they could come to you and talk to you no matter what, otherwise you might be putting them into the hands of wolves in sheep’s clothing. I don’t agree with how this young lady handled this but,WOW, I didn’t know the police, pathologists, etc.... who are all adults mind you can be such liars.
