We might have different opinions about BO3 but this was a great video. It is kinda interesting that two games with a cyberpunk aesthetic launch completely unplayable on last-gen consoles compared to their next gen counterparts.
Hehe. This is interesting to learn. If anyone's curious: I'm actively playing 360 BO3 (mostly the zombies map Shadows of Evil), but I purchased the game around when it came out. I don't really have the time or money to get an upgraded console, and I operate on a mobile hotspot for most of my life. Playing online isn't something available to me -- but having fun with campaign, zombies, and multiplayer is. I have to say, compared to BO2 (the shooter I began with -- also my go-to), AW, and some amount of BO1, playing BO3 is fun. The graphics look decent from my pov (with the exception of the multiplayer end-screen. I noticed that, then decided to just not look too close), it's fun to experiment with specialists in multiplayer -- and when I have a little more time to waste, exploring Shadows of Evil is really, really cool. In fact, it is one of the only zombie maps (aside from Mob of the Dead) that I can enjoy playing alone for a prolonged period of time. The main aggravation I had was that there was no longer split-screen -- meaning that this game was a strictly solo experience, and something that I couldn't enjoy doing with my family. While that can be fine for a videogame, for something that easily gets monotonous -- like COD -- it sucks a lot of fun out of it without another person playing with you. Aside from that, I was slightly disappointed that I couldn't play the campaign (but there's RUclips for that) -- and recently, more disappointed that the smaller DLCs, like the Giant map or effin Nuketown, have a price tag on them. (Obtaining those DLCs -- through the walls of updates and download time-outs -- on the other hand.... whew, that is a topic that makes me want to put my head through a wall. Because. It's. IMPOSSIBLE). In terms of this video -- the frame-rate issues, while playing in multiplayer, don't seem to be a problem... which maybe means I'm lucky? Or it's because it's on an Xbox and not PS3 -- or the fact that I'm not playing online. The advanced movement is satisfying, compared to AW, especially the sliding bit. Weapon textures are... as the video mentioned... not fantastic, but they're not the reason I play so they don't really bother me too much. The restriction on weapon loadouts compared to BO2 (and even AW) bother me more -- but trying to fine-tune classes to specialists circumvents that for me. Listening to this video, and seeing a post made earlier by someone working on the port, it's sucks to see that the development of this game was, figuratively, hell. But in terms of enjoying the game? For someone who's restricted to playing offline, it's fun for what it offers -- but I can definitely see ways in which this release to last gen could be massively improved.
the Switch is actually more powerful than the 7th gen consoles. in other words, Witcher 3 can run on a switch but I doubt it could run on the Xbox 360 or PS3, at least.. if it were a port instead of a brand new version of the game entirely created with the intent of running on the PS3 and Xbox 360, but at that point I'd port it to Switch since it'd be better optimised than the current switch port.
@@inktheone5933 GTA V came out on PS3 and Xbox 360 in the first place, so it's a 7th gen game in the first place (they had to port GTA V to PS4 and Xbox One anyway)
@@WednesdayMan The Witcher 3 was actually originally intended as being built in mind with the 360/PS3 version initially, but unlike a certain recent title under their portfolio, they deemed it for the best to abandon the last gen versions (thank god). Also yes, even the Switch with it's anemic general clock speeds (25.60GB/s DDR4, 768mhz GPU, & 1GHZ CPU) BTFO the last gen consoles by virtue of A: The PowerPC PPE's utilized within the PS3 & to a lesser extent the 360 (as the 360's Xenon is repurposed into more conventional cores) are kind of a bit messy from the getgo in terms of IPC & general Out of Order execution , which I find can be best summarized here twitter.com/Kirby0Louise/status/1346116620834451457. B: Pure process node. The original 360 & PS3 are based on a 90nm node technology, compared to that of a TSMC 20nm process, with a much more significant transistor count to boot. As a byproduct of this, even with the Switch's 1GHZ Quad Core Cortex-A57, the Switch is able to handle calculations that would make 7th gen consoles choke. C: The Switch's general newer nature make them much more easier to program for due to how ridiculously documented the Tegra X1 is in general, compare this to last gen consoles with their poor Out of Order capabilities or their lack of unified shaders. Most devs will just find it much more comforting in general to get more out of a Switch than you ever would from a 360 or PS3. In other words, Nintendo opting for the off the shelf Tegra X1 allowed for developers to access a system that while "lacking" compared towards it contemporary competition, is at least very straightforward to develop in mind for overall.

Like I said in the live chat, I was one of the unlucky people who didn't have an XB1 leading up to the game's release so I ended up pre-ordering the 360 edition instead. Luckily I got a PS4 that Christmas and was able to play it on there. Then in April 2016, not long before my birthday, I traded in my PS4 and all my games for an XB1. I then got it on that console. Now I have it on PC, but unfortunately won't have anything capable of running it (outside of my XB1) until possibly late February.
I remember wasting 2 hours searching how to play zombies split screen on the PS3, and couldn't find anything about it, and then on their forums there was a post saying that no you can't.
Found you in the women’s day playlist, good job girl! Decent gaming commentary as well. Not just saying this because you got a bunch of hate in comments either;)
I think the only bad parts of the port were the horrible graphics, choppy animations, low frame rate, and tiny player base due to most BO3 players playing on the newer consoles.
1:07 I wouldn't say "uniquely" since Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain came out in September that year. This came out only 2 months later, so I wouldn't call it long enough to be unique.
As someone who never had a "next gen" console, the 360 port was amazing. I prestige mastered on it and completed the shadows easter egg. I loved the multiplayer and I loved being able to experience it. Everyone shits on it because they always had the next gen version to play. These videos are stupid. I am very grateful for the 360 port and alot of my fondest cod memories belong to it.
I was stuck on MW2 and MW3 for years, not because I didn’t have the newer games but because I hated them. I didn’t really mind for a while, but I was getting tired of the same maps and guns. One day my friend invited me over to try BO3 on his 360...I was blown away and obsessed lmao. 2/3 games we would lag out and be kicked but I loved it so much, I debated on buying it for my 360 (despite having a PS4) and went for the PS4 thank god. I played that game for another 2-3 years and I’ve never been better at a Cod. BO3 holds a special place in my heart.
I didn't get a PS3 until MW3 came out. Before then, I only had a Wii. Not wanting to miss out on Call of Duty, I'd play the Wii versions that released, enjoying them but always wishing I could play the PS3/360 versions. I remember how impressed I was as a kid by how good those versions looked, how smooth they ran. Coming from the Wii, I was blown away Christmas 2011 when I played MW3 for the first time with modern graphics at 60 fps. It was always inevitable, console generations don't last forever, but it's still kind of crazy for me to think that *this* is the swan song of the console generation that Call of Duty rose to fame on. The consoles of CoD's golden age. It all went full circle. Eventually, the PS3/360 versions became the Wii versions to the PS4/XB1 versions. It's kinda sad

Excellent video, I watched a couple hour ago and it gave me memories of that port of Shadow of Mordor for the PS3 and 360 that suffered the same fate (I remember playing it and it was terrible!! It was like at like 10 frames per second, the textures didn't load, and it had loading times to go to the pause menu haha!) You should check out that port too, it's really terrible.
Sometimes I like to boot up my ps1 so I can play old games, and feel some nostalgia but also when I play these games I appreciate new games more and how far things have come and sometimes if I just wanna appreciate how far games have come and skip the nostalgia trip I play this game on the 360 because it looks like a ps1 game
I'd more so blame the attempt to port it to the ps3, developers have made numerous complaints about making games for the playstation 3 due to it's complex coding, which is why the past two gens (ps4 & 5, Xb one & series) have stuck with pc architecture (x86-64), to favor developers in attempt to sell more games/add-ons

Real talk tho, I understand why you don't like the mode. It just isn't for everyone, if that's how you feel about the Mode then that's your opinion and I can't argue with that.
We might have different opinions about BO3 but this was a great video.
It is kinda interesting that two games with a cyberpunk aesthetic launch completely unplayable on last-gen consoles compared to their next gen counterparts.
Atleast cold war runs a little decent on ps4 not really on Xbox one

Eyeless richtophen:
If you can run doom eternal on a switch this game cam run on old gen consoles
The switch has more memory and a better gpu than old gen consoles
the Switch is actually more powerful than the 7th gen consoles.
in other words, Witcher 3 can run on a switch but I doubt it could run on the Xbox 360 or PS3, at least.. if it were a port instead of a brand new version of the game entirely created with the intent of running on the PS3 and Xbox 360, but at that point I'd port it to Switch since it'd be better optimised than the current switch port.
And rockstar managed to get gta 5 on last gen without making it look like shit
