Damn bruh i remember still stumbling upon somewhat alot of lobbys at midnight randomly playing tf2 on xbox one cuz the orange Box is backward compatible even tho basically every Lobby had an pretty bad connection but there was one basically full Lobby with people just Dancing in the middle of the Map and stuff
It's sad because Console TF2 only got 2 Patch updates and that's it. They didn't even add the weapons and hats, making you have to go full stock for the whole experience.

They blurred the default skin on purpose. To make skins more appealing. They just wants default doesn't give you any pleasant feeling in any way.
@@ChrisBrown-ir6sf That's true. Default weapons had their shaders and colors lowered down due to the Arms Deal update, the one that added skins into the game.
@@XanderNiles
Yap. The true form of pure CS was before the arms deal. Then again I don't hate skins as I spend over 300 doller myself. I hate lots of other aggressive update that valve pushed out of nowhere and nobody asked for. For example the new characters models and promoting f2p player in prime without phone number verification.
Every update they made in the name of getting up to date were just economical. Cash grabbing that's it .
They are still extremely backdated in term of improving the actual game related stuff. Like
- More intrusive anti cheat like faceit. ( I don't mind if they borrow Faceit anti cheat instead using their own lol)
- 128 tick servers
- Global and Region based Leader board system in competitive
If they do something about them then I will call they updated CSGO. But now its the same shit like 2012 just with shiny skins and cartoonish UI that's it.
@@ChrisBrown-ir6sf it isn't them that don't want 128 tick, its the fact that a lot of people don't have PCs to play 128 tick on.
@@eviechuu
It's 2020 and people needs to update the potato. A game doesn't need to stay backdated cause people won't change intel HD lol. If you make your game hardware demanding then people will force to upgrade. Getting 128 FPS in CSGO isn't big deal. A dirt cheap 1050ti can achieve it. They just don't wanna waste money on 128 tick servers cause they treat MM COMPETITIVE as casual. That's why they introduced those lameass character models in the first place. See the ESL analysis how pros players couldn't spot the models in different maps. I am glad ESEA, Faceit and all the pro tournaments banned them. Meanwhile VALVE won't care about MM as they treat it like casual mode.
Love the video, abandonware is always interesting.
Man the last minute and a half made me kinda sad.
I wonder if the people that put a lot of time into Console-Strike can't afford other games or a PC to play populated CS:GO.
If so, I hope they're at least having fun.
Me too. I have to imagine that it's some mixture of not having a PC and just.... playing it when it was new and maybe happening to revisit it when I did. There are so many cheap or free FPS games that are available now on X1- I don't think anyone is really trapped into it.
Glad you enjoyed the video man
Well, i think i will be playing this version for a long time, i play it cuz my pc is so slow i can't have fun playing cs:go on pc, so i play it on Xbox. And i do have quite a lot of fun in it, sadly a few ppl playing it may be quite angry and i m not good in cs:go generally speaking, but for me it's still good fun, pretend to get the ps3 version once i get a ps3
@Flexsor get the trial on xbox 360 and keep making new accounts for the 45 minute trial time. you have to change the controls and options for every new profile but it's not that bad. that's how I played it before I had a PC to play other things on. I still cant play CSGO but I can play source and other older games
Flexsor you can get free games on ps3 with hen now without jailbreaking which is gay asf
Kacey this was me. I bought it on 360 when it first came out and I didn’t realize that the gameplay was so different on the computer vs. the Xbox. It was only a few weeks ago that I decided to download Steam and play csgo on the computer and man, it is way better... except for all the freaking cheaters. One thing I miss about the 360 is that it’s basically impossible to cheat.
I love the console versions of TF2 and CS:GO specifically because of the fact that they're time capsules
To me its kinda depressing seeing the game be forgotten like that.
It is, but its also nice to go back and relive what once was. I appreciate that they exist as archives.
@@olliegoria Yeah, exactly! There are so many games that are Always Online or have just updated so much that some fans might feel alienated from the current version of the game, and newer players might not know where the game started from.
Its a cool relic and piece of history for some, and then a genuinely special place to relive what might be their preferred era of the game.
From League of Legends to Rainbow Six Siege and basically any semi-long running MMO ever, you always get folks arguin about what the best era of the game was. For games without legacy server options that let them transport themselves back to "the good ole days" this is as good as it gets
@@SomniaCE Yeah. If only I could go back to the good ole days of Source or just 1.6.

Damn, I miss those days. My best friend back in 2012 bought the game in 360 and gave me his account so I could download it myself. I have really nice memories of playing this game with him and a couple of online friends.
Sadly, I got my Xbox stolen in 2014 and my best friend passed away in 2017, he was just 20 years old.
You’ll think you miss a place or a game, but you don’t miss that, you miss the company you had back then...
Rip :(
My friend died too in 2017 same age too....small world it can be
Least my Xbox never got stolen
It would've been really interesting to see if the console ports kept version parity and if they tailored the experience to a controller, that the game would catch on with the people, but i guess we'll never know.
(playing the game a wiimote is stupid fun)
Maybe it'll happen one day. But I doubt it.
@@Kaceydotme Maybe with the new consoles?
With ports of every game on Source 2?
With the current Valve it may be likely, hell they even said maybe they'll port HL Alyx for PS4 VR
XBOX and PlayStation only allowed 3 updates post-launch and charged $10,000 for each update after that. Both the developer and distributors had to certify each update, so it wasn't really that economically viable for both parties.
That's why some games had such few updates and the end of support for GTA 5 ps3 even if it still has a huge playerbase to this day
@@mk_jdilla either way I think rockstar just wanted to leave ps3 behind, I dont think the ps3 would be able to handle too much of the added assets after so many updates.

The fuuuuuck?
Fun fact, when Valve showed off CS GO at PAX, they had us playing the console version
That sense of comradery perfectly describes the GTA IV community for me

Do you have an Xbox one?
I was just in a full lobby, at 5 am, so it's still got its player base.
All the competitive community stopped in 2019, it was "very" populated back then.
Did you know that the PS3 version was set to have cross-play with the PC version but it was removed before release?
@@vadimdude lol who u
No it wasn’t. Steam cross play launched with the game but was abandoned shortly after.
JROKGaming Cross-play was never in the final retail build
yea it was even mentioned in the trailer
You can use Steam on the PS3 CS:GO execpt cross-play, you can message you friends on how you can't play with them on the PS3
Still have CSGO on my PS3, I've never seen anyone else with the game during the time I played on ps3
Interesting that it was supposed to have native mouse and keyboard support on PS3, and I remember Valve saying they'd implement cross-play between PC and PS3 clients. Saddest part is the performance; look at Killzone 2 or even any of the optimized CoDs on PS3 and it shows the CELL system could've ripped through this game at 200 FPS easy (not exaggerating, 30FPS was just a joke for Source on a much more performant piece of hardware, even back then).
Still cool though.
Nighterlev ive been playing black ops 1 and 2 and they were totally fine on ps3. no framedrops
@@Nighterlev PS3 BO1 had absolutely no problems for me whatsoever, and no frame drops at all
@@Nighterlev thats mainly because developers weren't able to harness the PS3's power. Exclusives like Uncharted and TLOU look amazing on PS3 because devs didn't have to spend time on making and Xbox version. The single core performance of the CELL is comparable to processors released today.
@@FeeLtheHertZ I know I am very late but I don't think the PS3's hdmi output supports that high of a framerate. Maybe the system can push it, but I don't think it can display that much frames per sec. Also, Valve hated the PS3, calling it a waste of time, so I highly doubt they would spent time and money getting it to run at that high of a framerate, maybe 60fps at 720p or dynamic 1080p could have been possible but maybe nothing at all.
CS:GO with motion controls? That sounds horrible and AMAZING at the same time.

When the Mirrors Edge music started playing... :3
10:22 It's the main man BOT Keith!
That thing you said at the end about the wonder and whimsy of playing on what is essentially an abandonware game with other real people is so true. It's something I've done since the 7th console generation when I'd randomly boot up some ps2 games to see if anybody was still playing them online.
For reasons unknown, Burnout 3: Takedown had its servers still online as late as 2011 I believe, which is bizarre because A) it's EA, who would shut down servers as early as a year after release B) because Revenge, this game's sequel, had its servers taken offline years earlier C) an entire new generation of systems was already well into its life-span and yet the servers for this 2004 arcade racer were still online!
People still played too. I played Killzone 1 online in 2011, it got shut down a year later. Played Syphon Filter The Omega Strain in 2011 as well, a 2004 game that actually had its servers shut down in 2008/2009, but got revived by dedicated fans who piggy-backed the DNS servers off another Sony game. Shit was good.
It's a fascinating thing, knowing there are others out there who either find some real value and enjoyment in the abandoned/forgotten games, are doing so out of necessity (budget) or for the hell of it. The 7th gen CoD games are basically chaotic anarchistic wastelands now for various reasons, and playing them is almost like having a bad acid trip.
I remember playing that multiplayer demo with my friends in like 2012-2013 and years later seeing CS GO again when the PC version had taken off
That ending was actually kinda depressing

Only about 3 or 4 updates for tf2. All bug fixes, and some balancing. They nerfed the soldiers rockets from 32 to 20 I think. As well as nerfing the demos grenades in clip to 4. PS3 never received these, however.

@@darknightmike10yearsago well you can aim in and in csgo you mainly gotta stand still for your bullets to hit
The competitive mode of CSX (CS:GO) in Xbox is actually pretty much alive to these days
Of course, if you go on a casual mode you will find your overall P90 silver player, but if you go onto competitive mode, you will find people who put thousands of hours into training their aim, their strategy, their smokes, flashes, etcetera
And, if you go deeper, you can find there's an entire community who, although plays most of the time on private servers (mainly because of the public servers always be taked down, and because people with bad aim sometimes makes you rage), still is quite united
There are even competitive teams, more than 10, still being active, Dinamicx for example, is one of them, and although i havent heard about it for a while, there are actually tournaments with prize pool, generally an Gold live or sometimes a game card, but there's times when it's worth real money, i've seen an tournament which the winner brought home ten thousands BRL (Brazilian money), 2k each, because an Lan-House had given money to the event
This game is still alive, and if you try, you will still find an very active community, so.if you want, come and play, maybe you will be our next Xbox Coldzera :)
I played it since 2012, and what you are syaing is very true. Nonetheless, all the EU+NA community left in 2019. Before that, it was probably one of the most non-AAA active FPS on Xbox. But a lot or people have difficulties to imagine it lol.

Great use of Nine Inch Nails in the background
I remember playing this port on my ps3 a couple of years back and man do I remember having so much fun with this game, lobbies would be full it was the only way I could play csgo and I loved it, the good old day are gone and soon I’m going to mcrd for recruit training to be a marine wish I can go back to those times
One reason i dont like modern games is exactly because that tight community feeling was lost with the introduction of match making. Back in the unreal tournament era, the same crowd always hanged in the same bunch of servers. Everyone knew everyone. Friendships formed, alliances were stabilished, you made enemies that you hated losing to because they were douches so you tried hard to win every time, you had friends that helped you train... heck, there were even instances of putting differences aside with your most hated enemies in order to push out "invading" douche players from other countries/servers raiding our beloved online home. What do you have now? A bunch of anonymous faces that get randomly matched against each other. You dont like anyone, you dont hate anyone. You dont remember anyone.
You perfectly resumed why some of us played this from 2012 to 2019, and why I myself only play on little games. This community aspect is really important and unique.

The thing I like about CSGO on console is No Aim Assist. I'm a strong believer that Aim Assist doesn't belong in Competitive FPS on Consoles. Rainbow Six Siege is the perfect example of this.
Rainbow six was built under complete accommodation that it could be used without aim assist. Literally any other competitive fps that does abide by sieges rules requires aim assist
@@dream_killer-cc3vr
R6S has far better controls than CS:GO had, as well as games like PUBG, MAG, Quake and SOCOM that didn't use aim assist.
Most console titles could drop aim assist if the controls were held to a higher standards, and input latency were lessened(v-sync toggle).
@@EternalDahaka titles definitely do need aim assist on console, most of the games that you had listed for example are still jank asf without the use of aim assist, although I never played mag I am aware that all those other games lack so much precision to its pc counterparts. Those games didn't have good controls, but that wasn't a barrier to keep aim assist out of them. R6S has a number of improvements it could see too, but it's certainly better than those were.
Thumbsticks don't match mice, but proper implementations and options remove the need for aim assist. We're only just now seeing modest numbers of games offer basic deadzone options.
Aim assist was built on fat square deadzones and inconsistent acceleration. You set up sticks well enough and players can make precise adjustments themselves.
@@EternalDahaka cod has all those implementations that you named and still feels unplayable without aim assist, theres just way too many variables to account for in a game that style
Can’t believe you just figured this out.

imagine people calling csgo "counter-strike Go"
