Pretty neat to see what's going on in Berlin in the aftermath of that attack...we always say how different Tesla is and things like this help to back that up! Have a wonderful and a safe weekend! 9:05 How did you know it was a parasite?
As a Tesla investor, Musk makes me increasingly nervous with his erratic, petty and personal grievance social media posts which creates negative sentiment and I'm sure contributed to the (albeit illogical and stupid) Berlin attack. I fear more issues arising due to his public persona as a dick. I literally don't know anyone personally who doesn't think he's a dick. And I only hear his praises within the Tesla bubble from channels such as yours.
I think he's a genius and I believe in the Tesla mission but his impetuousness in his public communication is absolutely counter-productive to the mission and I fear for my investment - for that reason only.

It's because if you support Trump the mask is off and people can see you for who you really are. Trump is like the special glasses that let you see the aliens. Their ugly faces are exposed and by supporting Trump you reveal to the world that you are a deeply dishonest person who cannot be trusted. @@tonycatsup2175it's not only that. The biggest problem is Elon's victim mentality. He is like the ignorant parent who tells their child to ignore the bully and he will stop. That's not how it works. The manifesto of the terrorists is a summary of all the lies that had been told about Tesla by mainstream media. And Elon is too arrogant to have a PR department. The damage done by the terrorist attack which is a direct result of the lack of communication by Tesla could have paid for an insane PR department that could react to every misinformation out there. But Elon left his child defenseless and exposed it to the bullies. An attack like this commited by misguided and misinformed people fueled by the lies of mainstream media was only a matter of time. Elon's interfering with everyone's business makes Tesla a very controversial company and not counteracting all the damage he does with a solid PR department is unacceptable.

Mary said GM will sell more EVs than Tesla by 2025…… why are you laughing, she has 9 months left.
Good point. If anyone is capable of leading the EV revolution, its Mary. Just ask Joe Biden. He knows what’s going on - sometimes. 😂
I want to see Dillion go back and check the prediction tracker. Something must have reached the prediction time now? 😅
The only EV that GM sold in qty was the bolt.
No bolts are being produced in 2024.
Where was Mary when the fire started?
Where has 14 years gone
re: the Tesla Semi taking on the Donner Pass. When you look at the battery charge level graph for those first Semi runs on California's I-5 (which I've driven many many times, including in my Model Y.) The Tejon Pass reaches a height of 4144'. The Semi did this with ease and appeared to recoup almost all the extra energy used to climb the pass as it went back down using regenerative braking and also not having to put much energy into the motors. Diesel semis struggle going up this pass, overheating is a risk, and coming down they use engine braking and probably some friction braking both of which eventually cost money in repairs. My Model Y easily drives these passes. So it appears that to an EV like the Semi, or my Y, there's not much difference between flat routes and mountain routes, so long as you net 0 total elevation changes, for the ups and downs, which would always be the case for roundtrips.
Regenerative braking is awesome and exclusive to EVs and hybrids. But it's not 100% efficient - more like 70% - which is still excellent compared to the 100% loss you have with gas and diesel burners.
Saw 2 matte black cybertruck in my town today they look so badass
Thanks for the correction on the "AK-47" video. Things like that drive firearm enthusiasts crazy.
These range tests are all traveling 20% higher than the speed limit.
I usually go 5-10% over the speed limit and am curious how that impacts range. I've always been told a little bit more speed costs a lot of energy at those velocities, so I'm curious when someone is going to do a range test at/around the speed limit of 60-65MPH.
If you drive a Tesla Model 3 Long Range at 50-55mph you do closer to 370 miles. If you use slow takeoffs and accelerate gently you add another 10-15 miles to that. It is amazing that with care you can almost get 400 miles in a car that is rated for just 350.
The legal minimum on the interstate is 40, but if you do that, you will die.
From gunshot wounds. :)
I live in Missouri, murder capital of America.
A recent RUclips "artist", whose name and site I will not mention, claimed Tesla lied about range proceeded to drive 20 mph over the posted limit to "prove" his point. But, same video, he also admitted "he could get the stated range. Bottom line : Slow Down
One has to wonder how aggressive the German prosecutor's motivation would be if it was just the Tesla plant and no local residents that lost power. personally, I think it would have gotten lip service at best.
Right off the bat the Car & driver 75 mph test is meaningless! To claim the Cybertruck missed the Tesla rating is outright fraud. No mileage test, EPA, Tesla or otherwise is conducted at 75 mph. I was also disappointed, Dillon, that you didn't even mention that but just regurgitated the C&D misinformation.
He said that for the class of vehicle they aren't even required to make an estimate. Besides that it is truthful, there have been many reports of milage at actual travel speeds being around that.
The NACS to NACS extension cable might also solve the back-in-only problem for Tesla vehicles pulling trailers. :)
SMR puts the AG1 to the end, could you do as well, please?

How much will the early announcement of the Rivian R2 create an Osborne effect to depress sales of the R1 in the next year?
The EV manufacturers who put their charger ports wherever they want, when they don't have any infrastructure, just shows the inept their engineering and management really are. Don't buy from them... Buy a Tesla.
It's sure is a mystery of its own.
If I built an EV I would put the charge port under the car in the middle. Closest to the battery to save money. Then design a complicated breakage prone device to plug it in and charge a huge fee to have it installed. Then get Gov funding for it.
I'm not electric yet but I will not buy a car with a gas cap anywhere but on the left.

Dillon, I was about ready to offer you some terminology guidance when I saw you were quoting from an article that referred to the “quickest” top speed. The correct term they should have used there is “fastest”.
Thanks for continuing updates. I'd rather trade the stock market as it's more profitable. I make an average of $30,100 per week even though I barely trade myself.
I'm in a similar situation where should I look to increase income? Do you have any advice? What did you do? Thank you
Well explained. Thank you for bringing up this video. Financial education is indeed required for more than 70% of society in the country as very few are literate on the subject, thanks to Mrs Olivia Harlow the lady you ones recommended

The tent arrangement does not look very appealing to me. For the same volume but 20% of the cost, I have bought a much bigger top of the range cotton canvass 5m radius bell tent.
i dont know what what rivian is thinking with new vehicles if they cant do more than 100k
They have a plan to increase stock value for a short time, then go bankrupt. Same plan that Nikola used.
That basecamp is really expensive and doesn't look as nice as the render, but it is bigger and more useful
Rivian putting the charge port on the rear passenger side makes no sense to me. Rear to save on HV wiring, I get, but put it on the driver's side for Tesla compatibility, duh.
This argument that it needs to be compatible with R1S/R1T home chargers? There are barely any of those vehicles out there, and their owners aren't cross shopping the smaller Rivians anyway.
Yes. It's easier to make the switch before you reach volume production.
On the contrary Tesla should switch sides. It should be on the passenger side. When you park the car in the street and plug in, with Tesla you need to drag the cable all the way around into the middle of the street to plug it in. It's a pain and also places stress on the port.
Phillip.
@@philliptemple9841 If only the Gov had done their jobs before Tesla started building EVs back when GM introduced the EV 1 and set the standard. Maybe we should hold Republicans responsible? They were in power in 96. They held the house and the senate.

V12 parking: When / if FSD has the ability to shift into reverse, it will probably do a better job of parking.
Yep. That will be a tiny update any day now.
The real question is how well the Cybertruck can with one burst from an A10 Warthog.
dude he literally said the reason they moved it to the back were for financial reasons. he then proceeds to explain how it lets them save cost in the manufacturing process. with the r2 not always having a front motor, it would cost additional money to run high voltage wires all the way to the front, when instead they can keep it in the rear, where there is always a motor. which means they use less high voltage wiring. he then proceeds to say, and since we are moving it to the back, we wanted to keep it on the same diagonal. how you took that exchange, and somehow turned that into, they are only moving it to the back passenger side so it doesnt cause home charging problems, is pretty funny
Finally someone who understands, This is what I was looking for.
Dillon thank you very much for another excellent week of valuable and enjoyable programs.

I'm sorry, but any problems with nonTeslas supercharging is a failure on the part of the makers who didn't put their ports on logical locations. They did the same with fuel fillers for the past several decades. At least they're no longer under the license plate 😂
Actually putting the charge port under the license plate would make a lot of sense. It is in the middle, easy to access...
@@davidbeppler3032really not good. You cannot open the trunk. Arriving at a DC fast charger you want to plug in directly, then maybe unpack some things, a family might need to retrieve a stroller from the trunk etc.
And it would require thick cables in the lid, and that they are flexed each time it's opened.
If I remember Munro Live correctly Tesla has a solid bars, not cable, down to wherever it switched between going into the AC/DC or the battery "directly" to save on cost.

What vertical integration? Not sure on the relationship, but GM vehicles are powered by Google. Likely has some impact on carplay.
as a german I can tell you that the giga berlin employees keep getting payed because law protects them from sudden pay dropouts like this so it might not only be attributed to teslas generosity towards its employees, not taking away from the overall message of that move tho. 75mph? No, that's not how Cybertruck's mileage is rated. Look up the EPA's mileage rating criteria.

@@DillonLoomis22 Not really "real world" at all. 75 mph will get you a speeding ticket in most places. Even if not illegal, no one drives at 75 mph for four hours straight. @@GntlTch "@DillonLoomis22 Not really "real world" at all. 75 mph will get you a speeding ticket in most places."
That's quite irrelevant to the fact that it's a real world test with a speed that many people drive on roads that allows that speed.
"Even if not illegal, no one drives at 75 mph for four hours straight. "
Sure they do. If that is the legal speed people tend to drive that speed.
"Long freeway road trips are a rarity. "
Long trips are the only kind of trips where it's useful to know the range of the car. So long trips are the only useful test. Who cares about the range if you are only driving in a city? You will never run out of electricity.

Agree Rivian's explanation of the charge port doesn't make sense. Most people have a preference to either park front first or back in. If they have the option, they would choose install the charger on the side with the charge port. Which will be the opposite side on the R2. So for someone charging at home, they would have been much better off putting it on [the rear of] the driver's side. I'm hoping they come to their senses before production starts.
With usual delays, it looks like the new Chevy Bolt will come out just in time to lose to Tesla new Model.
Rather than a tent accessory,I think in car camping with the rear seats folded down and an air mattress on top offers better climate control and protection from the elements, including unwanted intrusion from insects and animals. Model Y appears to do this well, and the Rivian R2 looks like will also feature excellent in car camping when it comes out in 2026.

NACS to NACS extension cable sounds a lot like a...dongle. 🤦♂️
Exatly and that's great because it shows people how much easier their life would be if they just had a Tesla.
Some people complain about range and want more range. They also complain about charging time.
But if a vehicle gets more range wouldn't it take longer to charge?
So, when they think one is better because it gets more range but they also complain about charging time and now they are charging for longer😮
The charge time is more or less constant, a larger battery is capable of receiving more kW so as long as the charger can supply the requested kW you should be good.
Most people will realize that they actually never use the range, even on road trips they will learn to charge while they are having a break anyway, only people without charger at home or work seems to actually need more range
@@casperhansen826 Are you saying a 60kwh battery will charge in the same time as a 264kwh battery? How could charging time remain constant?
@@mattsparks5957 In terms of %SOC (percent State Of Charge), every single cell in the battery has a maximum charge rate. Since all the cells are charged simultaneously, it doesn't matter how many cells are in the battery. All the cells charge at the same rate (given enough charger power), so the time it takes to charge the whole battery, no matter how big, from 0% to 100% is the same as for a single cell.
In terms of kWh total energy, the more cells there are in the battery, the less time it takes to store a given amount of energy. Since all the cells are charged simultaneously (given enough charger power), each additional cell stores an additional amount of energy during the same charging time. So it takes less time to store the same amount of energy in a bigger battery.
Bigger battery = same time from empty to full + range added faster
Think about a gasoline car with two separate gasoline tanks (analogous to two cells in a battery). If you filled them simultaneously from two pumps, it would take the same amount of time as filling just one of those tanks with just one pump. Or you could simultaneously half fill both tanks, for the same range as one full tank, but with half the filling time.
"But if a vehicle gets more range wouldn't it take longer to charge?"
Larger batteries can charge more range per time unit.
@@mattsparks5957A 4x larger battery pack can be charged at 4 times the speed if the charging dispenser is able to feed it 4 times the power and if the car can accept all that power into the batteries.
Power is Volts x Current. High current causes heat, so higher Voltage charging and battery packs is the best way to achieve faster charging. Tesla should move from a 400V pack to 800V like Hyundai and Porsche.

@@fredhearty1762 "Apple is not vertically integrated.."
On the contrary. They are. Being vertically integrated does not mean that they do every single thing themselves. They create their own software and design their own hardware including their chips. They obviously does not produce their own chips as that is an extremely complicated process that only a handful of companies in the world can do successfully. Manufacturing simple products like mobile phones also does not warrant vertical integration as long as the manufacturer can produce the units you want.
"neither were any of the successful legacy automakers (Toyota, BMW, Mercedes) for many decades."
Successful? It's their catalogue shopping that have created the mess they are in right now. It's the primary reason that they are unable to accomplish anything by themselves. It's the reason they can't get over the air updates to work like Tesla. It have made them complement and irrelevant. Had they been vertically integrated they would have been stronger today.

On the R2 charger port location. I have been charging my Model 3 in my garage for 4 1/2 years and being on the drivers side rear is a little bit of a pain. No matter what side you are charging from you have a cable draped across the floor. My wife got a Model Y and we will have to park one car on the right side of the garage facing the house. The other car is on the left and is backed into the garage. The primary reason for this is driver door access. However, I have to relocate my EVSE to the front of the garage near the center so we can get to both charge ports from the same location.
If the charger ports were on the passenger side the I could continue to use both of our chargers and simply relocate one to the other side wall. The advantage here is there would not be a cable laying across the garage floor.
Admittedly it is a small problem but what the CEO of Rivian is saying is correct. It keeps the cable out of the way. I wouldn't make a purchase decision based on this but it would be nice.
So interesting to read your comment, I have a 2020 Model 3 that right now I currently have no problem charging, my plug (NEMA 14-50 ) on the back right side of the garage right under my power box (if looking at it from the front of the house) , I just back in, plug in (using the mobile Tesla charging cable) . However, I want to buy my wife a Model Y one day also, and that situation probably will be a pain also , depending on when each car needs charging, we would have to swap cars in and out of that position to charge(since we wouldn’t be charging both cars at once). I guess the long cable would allow you to do that without swapping car positions. I’m curious to know , when do you charge each car?

When we purchased my wife's Model Y we also purchased a Tesla 48A EVSE which I am installing in the middle of the garage at the front. From that position both charge ports are on the inside and the EVSE is between the cars and the garage door to the house. This gives good access to the charger and minimal interference from the charger cable.
That should make it all a little less hassle. I do have a 40A EVSE at the left side of the garage. This allows me to charge at the same time as my wife should I need to. We just have to make sure the my car is disconnected and hung up if she needs to leave otherwise the cable will get driven over as she leaves.
The only issue I have yet to solve for charging is that I would like to set my car to be charged so it is finished and ready to drive at 6:30 AM. That is when I leave to go to the gym Mon - Fri. Unfortunately my car will not allow me to schedule charging like that. I have rescheduled it repeatedly and even had a ranger come out and try and get it scheduled. It didn't work for him either. Very weird.

It's Hans Grueber and the Volksfrei group. (Tesla sabotage incident).
FSD V12 knew to hold back at the green light because that's what GOOD drivers would do.
Cybertruck is faster than any ICE Porsche in the 1/8 drag race and just slightly slower than one model Porsche 911 Turbo S in the 1/4 mile drag race.
cheers to mary? Who??? Go TESLA!
Feb"Roo"ary, not Feb"U"ary. Nuc"lee"ar, not Nuc"you"lar.
Ever been beat up by a ginger with anger management problems?
I bought AG1, now I can't afford a Tesla....same price range.
Mary thinks forcing all customers to learn a new software suite instead of supporting Android and Apple? Really?
Not a creative solution at all @12:07. So because of Tesla poor planning and poor execution of allowing all other EV automaker to use superchargers and Tesla not making them change their charge port then us Tesla owners get penalize and have to buy an extension cord to use? That insane and I completely disagree with you on that one. They need to do better.
"So because of Tesla poor planning and poor execution of allowing all other EV automaker to use superchargers and Tesla not making them change their charge port then us Tesla owners get penalize and have to buy an extension cord to use?"
Tesla have always been open to others using their charging network. The blame can only be put on the stagnant legacy automakers in this case. And other manufacturers are going to change charge ports as well. And no. You don't have to buy an extension cord.
It's the non-Tesla drivers that should buy the extension cable., but Tesla drivers. Why did you think that?
@subwarpspeed because their is no incentive for the non evs to buy an extension cord. They will take up 2 stalls if they have to and Tesla will be the ones to suffer not the non Teslas.
Hi Dillon Loomis 22 from Trisha 🎉
Anyone doing a range test at 75mph? Has rocks in their heads. Seriously how many roads in the US have a 75mph speed limit? Hell even EPA is done at 60mph. Car and Driver reviewers are responsible for the EV's not meeting their EPA range estimates. Anyone with even half a years worth of engineering under their belt knows the air resistance at 75mph is much greater.
Why is GM going up, value investors think it’s a good value😂
Why is anyone investing into any legacy automaker? There are only risks and no upside that compensates for said risks.
See, when a company spends $10 billion buying back stock with money the Union Leader left on the table, the investors get happy.
You can bring all the cheap China made EV's you want into the US. I will never buy one and I think the union workers will have something to say about them.
So why the f doesn't Tesla offer a 500 mile version of the Cyberbeast without destroying bed utility?
Feel free to buy the competition. What EV truck has 500+ mile range and tows 11k? You can buy that instead.
Because the battery's energy density isn't enough for that. Yet.
You should always put the charge port on the driver side for obvious reasons…. Who wants to walk around the car every drive just to plug in?
for the same reason the gas inset should have always been on the drivers side of sall ICE vehicles.
@@scottmcshannon6821 unless you make your kid get out and pump the gas 😂
"You should always put the charge port on the driver side for obvious reasons…. Who wants to walk around the car every drive just to plug in?"
Because the car is so big that you will get exhausted? It's literally a few foot steps. As long as the plug is on the same side for all cars it really doesn't matter much.
@@yourcrazybear because it’s unnecessary if you just put it on the driver’s side
@@darylfortney8081Bjorn Nyland, who has owned Tesla’s and has tested every EV available in Europe at every charging station, he’s even said they every charge port should at least be on the drivers side.
I have a hard time understanding how the simple loss of power could cause damage in the " high hundreds of millions of Euros". That represents the total revenue of two weeks production, not just the lost profit. The material is still there. The labor cost is canceled. All the machinery should have had safe shutdown modes for power loss. What got "damaged' that is so expensive?
"The labor cost is canceled. "
No. It isn't.
"What got "damaged' that is so expensive?"
Tesla still have to pay for fixed costs, wages, and loss of income both for the actual downtime and for the ramp up time.
I still don’t understand why they don't make vehicles with charging ports on all four corners. Also, why don't they make gas-powered vehicles with a fuel cap on both sides of the rear? This way, you wouldn't always have to remember which side the gas door is on,l
The power cable is critical for feeding the battery. You want the shortest distance to the charging hardware above the battery. Longer cables can need larger cable diameter and possible cooling. They also need to be routed away from likely collision damage and more. It is not trivial.
"I still don’t understand why they don't make vehicles with charging ports on all four corners"
Costs and complexity.

If you can't figure out how to refuel your car you should probably not be out driving it.
unfortunately, i think the FSD situation James Douma described was probably a mistake, the car saw a green light, saw the other cars not moving, maybe it assumed it had an advance green before the oncoming traffic did.
Why three thousand for a tent in a truck when you can pop a tent on the ground and spend less for it.
Cuz the floor is lava

People that are worried about the cost of a tent aren't buying a 100K truck.

Thank Elon’s buddy Trump for giving the EV future to China.
Huh? Trump isn't the president, and he's not the CEO of any of these shortsighted automakers who haven't put themselves into competitive positions. He has done plenty of other damage though.
