      That's a silly claim. What Elon does with his own money is none of your business. However Elon deserves to get paid for the work he have done at Tesla. That payment was the compensation package that the stupid judge revoked despite the shareholder decision to award him this package.

    Is it just me that things the figures for Robotaxi use are pure fantasy? Sure, existing Taxis will eventually be replaced by them, and maybe they will be cheaper in the long run, enough to have more of them. However, people buy cars for their own use. There's no use model that make a Robotaxi magically appear when you decide to pop out. It's a huge backward step in lifestyle to have to organise and wait for a Robotaxis whenever you want to go out. If you live in a city and don't have a car, then it will work. However, if you do have your own car, you're not going to pay a premium to take a Robotaxi.

    @DillonLoomis22 Any info on how Tesla will Charge each Tesla Robotaxi City that would require bwt 5000 and 10,000 EVs to reach scale? That is a huge uptick in Robo Charging stations to meet the robo fleet. (48 Super charges/Day/Charger) 10000 EV Fleet would need a minimum of 400 Super chargers in a single city...

    I guess if I were a cab operator/company I'd be scared of Robotaxi coming into my space. I never, ever take cabs and likely never will anywhere in the metro area where I live, and hardly ever did in Dallas - more light rail there and that was maybe a couple times a year max. Will people really shift 100% to robotaxi, will they split their driving for the convenience ? I personally think it's a hard sell as cool as it would be - so fares is a secondary topic. If they made it for disabled / elderly that could be pretty useful. The tech advancement, great stuff with a lot of collateral application in the AI and computer vision space though and maybe something unthought there will provide big returns.

    Good to know Elon will be sleeping on factory floors again. (From personal experience once you've done something like this you will always miss not doing it, but of course you don't want to do it permanently.)
    There's an interesting problem along the Tesla Semi route in Texas. I was just there. The speed limit is 80 mph. Fun to drive, but quickly drains the battery in my Model Y. Don't know if big trucks are allowed to drive this speed, saw no signage to the contrary. So Tesla Semi chargers just need to be a little closer together.
    In California Governor Schwarzenegger started a Hydrogen Highway. It just never worked out. (There's one less than 1/4 mile from my house at a university). Toyota Mirai owners can be spotted by the 1000 yard stare of years of PTSD caused by endlessly trying to find H stations with H.

    • @tHebUm18
      @tHebUm18 Месяц назад

      No one can predict the future. Now is a good price to lower your cost basis--waiting it might get better, it might not. A common investment strategy to remedy your conundrum is dollar cost averaging--determine an amount you can set aside every month and buy some every month as long as it remains what you think is a good price. It inherently covers price fluctuation and removes trying to time the market.
      I personally think Elon will, per usual, upset institutional investors on the earnings call and am hoping for a sale. Then again the sale I was hoping for was $150/share and we hit that today--might try to buy some tomorrow and leave some for after earnings if it does continue to drop.

If Tesla supported their excellent product with excellent communication, demand will be stimulated without price cuts which have only debased the brand, not grown volumes, cost Tesla $ 10 bn and left a scorched earth in the market. There is a huge runway of growth ahead of the current range without even thinking of the 25K or robotaxi. Of course those projects must both be pursued as market experiments till those hypotheses are validated. But there’s no need for so much pessimism with regard to the current product range.
