Not saying we get it soon but a Tesla/India factory announcement would be a nice boost for sentiment and a major sign of confidence from Tesla with the next-gen. Also, don't forget to check out Soylent if you're interested - 30% off here: bit.ly/3PhgKmg - cheers!
Ross is definitely wrong about replacing the BOD. BOD is doing just fine, Elon is the piece that needs to be replaced. One day maybe you'll wake up and see he's destroying the brand.
Why would you build a factory to sell 8k cars?
I hope they don't boost sentiment, still super bullish with FSD v12 progress and hoping for like $150 or lower to load up on shares. Not there yet, here's to Elon making Wall St sad on the earnings call like usual.
Tesla has to sort out $2 Billion worth of new inventories (and $1.5 Billion inventory from last year) AND to bring their core car business profitable (after Q1 2024) before they will invest in India. There may be intent, but if Tesla invests to India which Gigafactory will be ramped down (on at least will not make cars anymore)?
@@mikapeltokorpi7671 What in the world are you talking about? Their goal is 20 million units/year by 2030, there's ample room to grow production without ramping down anything--especially since India will probably only produce the next-gen vehicle.
I’m glad GM has another EV model just around the corner. This should get the media whipped up and Pronouncing “The Competition is Coming.” You Did It Mary! You’ve Done It Again!
Elon called Ross an idiot. But it's not really name calling, as Ross is an idiot, but yes he shouldn't have. On the other hand, Ross called him a white supremacist, so…
This Lekander dude is flat out DELUSIONAL! Of course he's being interviewed on CNBC which explains that. I'm glad he's not in charge of my family portfolio.
10:12 was waiting for Dillon to say Elon should take AG1 to fix it.
BTW trolly problem is easy. Flip the switch after the first two wheels pass, but before the last two wheels pass. Train stops & slides, missing everyone.
Nice to see that Students are getting a foot in the door. Manufacturering OR THE LACK of it, is what has killed the UK.
"I'm not a fan of name calling - even if it's warranted"😂
CEOs are supposed to show restraint? Not Lord Elon.
@@craighermle7727 I suggest everyone should show restraint when it comes to name calling. Including you.
@@craighermle7727Why??? There is room for honesty and straightforwardness. IMHO it's a sign of peer to peer rather than lordship. It's the Lords that maintain face. Because that's all they got to give!!! Like GM who bolster exec egos with exclusive elevators. Sheesh!!! But no one could accuse MB of contentious views. But outright lying... YES!!
Like Elon said, "What's the point of F*ck you money if you don't say, F*CK YOU!?" 🤣@@craighermle7727
@@markthomas7279 "Honesty" is a questionable suggestion. Musk overpaid for Twix, for about 2x its market value $20,000,000,000, and while he was paying for it, Tesla stock was tanking ( again) Musk and his "X""truth" BS was recently thrown out of court. Honesty and truth have nothing to do with it. Mary's a lousy liae;. there's no question about it. However, Musk was selling fairy tales in 2020, and accepting money for the "dream". 4 years later he's still taking money for a product that isn't what Musk selling in 2020, and it's not close to any type of Federal "Certification" If it was the youtube Muskateers would be hyping the shit out of it. I'm not a GM or Ford advocate, far from it. I've owned 1 GM car in the past 50 years. Let's not talk about private elevators when there's "$56,000,000,000 in question.
I’m kind of glad Ross Gerber wasn’t brought onto the board.
Firstly it’s clear there’s a conflict of interest - does he serve his own company or Tesla? His own company doesn’t just hold Tesla.
Secondly to get a sense he would have pushed to get rid of all on the board - a team who have enabled Elon to pursue all these innovation projects which no normal company would even consider risking.
He wants a standard board and that will turn Tesla into a standard multinational company - where innovation slowly gets consumed by short term thinking - we have more than enough of those.
Most investors in Tesla know the risk and reward, and yes while I am concerned about some factors like any investor would be - but I totally disagree with his solution.
Kind of glad that an enemy of the company's mission is not on the board? Me too. Ross owns a tiny number of Tesla shares and understands nothing about the company.
absolutely. Ross's thinking is exactly the opposite of what is needed.
Shorting Tesla kind of feels like trying to short MacGyver
Troley problem is simple. Drive carefuly apply breaks and stop before there is something in front of you. If you can not then your drivinfpg strategy is not OK. If someone jump in front of your car and you can not stop before hit you will hit it.
Elon's comments about Ross were quite tame: I would have been much more explicit and said it in CAPITAL LETTERS!
The Silverado is very impressive but if it's not profitable then it's not practical to manufacturer at scale.
Leasing is a brilliant option. A real world way of seeing if an EV fits into your family routine. Plus a way to prove for yourself that EVs are cheaper to run & maintain.
I am so with you on this @3:18. Thanks for all that you do!!!
Elon doesn't suffer fools gladly and Ross certainly fits the description. Elon isn't required to meet your standards.
Bravo Dillon! Keeping it real, in the good like in the bad… Bravo 👏
2nd video in a row now where I must commend you on being extremely fair in your assessments. In this video it regards your comments on Elons tweet response to Omar re Q1 comps to BYD, and providing the necessary context that bulls/bears will always exclude 💪👏! Keep up the good work 👌.
Good job, Dillon
At 19:44 the midgate is a good idea to enable a double cab pickup truck to carry longer loads. ☮️
how strong is the midgate? if you have a 1000 pounds in back and slam on the brakes does the load meet the driver? how about if you have a fender bender?
"make manufacturing cool again". Ehm, optimus?
Thanks for the Soylent discount, Dillon. Got my first order in.
Enjoy!
I leased my Highland since the Juniper was not out and the lack of the tax credit on financing. For me it was to test the EV waters. I already know ill never go ICE again. An EV is not for everyone yet. If you have sufficient charging available, I see no valid reason to not drive an EV car except your personal budget or you don't need a new car now.
Basically buy any time from now and when the 25k car comes out
elon is human and his comment is great and I'm positive he is not perfect but no one is and I'm glad we all have opinion and ej or rj is a pirate
Yaaaay! Cybertruck has been added to intro screen! 🎉🤗
you got to put the semi in your opening screen since technically it's out there!
Great to see Tesla moving into India.
Thanks!
my pleasure sean, thanks for this!
I think Cathie Wood has more insight than Lekander. After all, he's "shorting" Tesla. Tesla is not just an automotive play, but a rapidly growing energy storage player also, and Robotics. He seems like someone whose understanding of Tesla is based on old Wall Street Paradyme's.

@17:00 There are over a dozen videos of Xiaomi test drives where major things are breaking and a lot of wrecks from people losing control. Apparently in one video you can see a driver accelerate quickly from a stop and the rear end kicks out like a Mustang and they lose control and hit a median. Other videos show smashed up quarter panels of test drivers that lost control. Another video of an SU7 where the rear suspension collapsed on one side. All within 2 weeks of giving out test drives
That’s just a bad driver, not an issue with the car. Lolol
If you don't already know the Chinese can build very bad cars, there is no hope for you in this world.
Thank you for your valuable feedback. You did jump to a lot of conclusions and implied assumptions unrelated to my actual WORDS in the post. Perhaps you need remedial logic lessons. Have an amazing day!
@@wwt17 Right. And bad drivers are flocking to Xiaomi test drives but not to any other brands. That explains why hundreds of Xiaomi incidents are reported but almost none for anyone else.
My apologies. I wasn’t specific enough in my initial statement. I specifically refer to the vids where cars lose control. That can happen to any car that has rear wheel drive, enough power and a driver who doesn’t know how to handle it. I was not referring to things breaking, but I thought the statement “that’s just bad drivers” was explicit enough.
The first quarter may well be Ford's last quarter of being the best-selling EV pickup.
Lekander is the new Chanos.
Let's see if Lekander is brave enough to short Tesla then.
The V12 allowing someone to merge is not Human Like... As a Human , you would accelerate alongside the car, to block him! You would then blast the horn and go ballistic when he cut you off!!! Especially if you own a Mustang in America or an Audi in Europe!! 😂
Beyond human
Hahaha, yeah. Effing Audi drivers own the road. They think they paid for it with their purchase price!
14$ per share is about 40B$ valuation... So tesla could buy 25% of the float without losing even half of their cash in hand. Sure... Makes sense...
Frunk. And how is that cooler or different from what the Brits have long called the bonnet?
I came up with a strange ideal just now what if in the cyber truck Tesla put a 2 cylinder generator maybe say 8 to 10 horsepower in the in the front propane clean burning you could make it virtually unnoticeable in sound it could do two things it could boost your mileage with a quick on the dash or it could be set to charge your vehicle to x percent even if you're not in it
Why criticise Elon's comments. I thought you criticised GM not long ago.
i've never called mary barra an idiot lol
Wait ur not sponsoring the huerberman brand anymore? Good for u
Off-topic question: Is there a Dillon Loomis for SpaceX? Yes, Lab Padre and Matt Lowne do fine weekly summaries, but one is too detailed and the other too broad--and they're not daily. I looked, and I could not find someone who specifically does for SpaceX what Dillon does for Elon. Dillon rocks. Who rocks SpaceX??
I think because spaceX isn't a public company and do not really have any products for normal people(besides starlink), there isn't enough information to run a entire channel from it.
There's a few who do at least a weekly half decent job.
What About It is great
There's a guy called Marcus House who does a weekly roundup of Space news and inevitably most of it is about SpaceX
NSF, NASA Space Flight
Kevin O'Leary should just stick to watches, upvoted!!!
Kevin " it won't work" O'Leary
Yes, Q1 was low. Is that a problem long term? No the reasons are well known.
Something I've never understood about the quarterly production and delivery numbers is that it seems that the delivery numbers are ALWAYS smaller. If they are always producing cars and there is always cars being delivered you would think that the numbers would be close as cars from last month but still being delivered would be added into this month's deliveries and offset whatever cars that are produced this month but not delivered until next month.
Nevertheless, as the production number rises the number of cars en route to their owners must also rise at the same rate. At least Tesla's numbers are delivered to owners, GM and Ford etc are piling up months worth of inventory on dealer lots.
Customers can save a good amount of money leasing then buying the vehicle at the end of the lease especially if they are able to keep the miles at or below the lease agreement amount. I have done this twice in the past with great results and money saved over the long run. I was hoping Tesla would do the same. Bummer
Soylent… I was going to give it a shot until I saw that each serving of powder has 15g of added sugar. Too bad, that’s a lot of sugar, especially if you have a couple per day plus all the added sugar in everything else.
Have a starter of weak Cider Vinegar first.
the drinks don't have that much sugar - that's what i like :)
@18:49 Tesla fan boy not hearing correctly
He did not say Tesla was not a clean energy company
He said he values them at $14 from an economic perspective
I just picked up a 2022 M3 LR but would have for sure leased a refresh M3 if there was a buyout option, specifically because I know I will do more than 15k miles per year and would rather buy at the end of the lease than pay the mileage fine.
It seems RG is circling for another attempt at board membership?
.
If so, he should be reminded *constantly* that "independent" and "trying to recover lost reputation" are not the same thing.
Hi Dillon Loomis 22 🎉😊 from Trisha
And they need to advertise!!
Dillon, are you aware that Cathy Woods did say in 2018 that Tesla would have a stock price of $2,000 in 5 years? Yes and she's still saying the same 6 years later. On 29th of May 2019 she even said that her 5 year price target is 4,000-6,000 for Tesla. Surely you have her predictions in your tracker, right?
Also, why would Tesla built a car factory in India when it already has a huge overcapacity in its existing factories and is delaying Giga Mexico? Doesn't make any sense (you said the location is in regions where other car factories are). As far as I heard, Tesla is looking at building a Mega Factory in India, which certainly would make sense given India's status as one of the biggest polluter in the world (No 2 but OTW to become No 1). However, we also have to note that Tesla Energy output is basically flat the last 3 years (will be better with Mega Shanghai)
When the idiots are comparing Tesla's Q/Q earnings to spite Tesla, for comparison purposes the response needs to be quarter after quarter.
Things like delivery projections by analysts who do not have material information, are educated guesses at best. Just look at real trends after the fact if you want the real picture. Too many people try to out-guess the people inside, who have material information about what's happening. Basically when a company doesn't meet analysts estimates what we're learning is generally not about the company which did whatever it did, but we're learning which analysts are lousy guessers.
Famous perhaps true story of analysts competing on stock picking on London FTSE 100 shares. One joker got his cat to select the stocks. The cat won
Finally impressed by GM if they can make money on this truck.

great to see Dillon critique Elon in a fair manner. It really makes me trust him more!
It makes as much sense for me to tell Dillon how to behave as it does for Dillon to instruct Elon. Elon will do and say what he chooses to.
What is the profit margin on the Cybertruck? Hasn't Tesla substantially increased its production?
There isn't one. Musk is on record as saying it will take at least 18 months/250,000 units to break even. Every unit sold today looses money. That timeframe was a Musk estimate which are always overly "optimistic", some might say greatly exaggerated.
It's a moving feast till ramp up completes. That's the joys and risks of auto market.

You have less than 100 Tesla semi's, Mr Wonderful is talking about semis that are currently available in the market.
It’s good to hold your tongue but sometimes you gotta let rip! Lol
Elon’s not wrong though, I wouldn’t trust Ross with my money or my vote.
Ford “SALES” actually means = Ford ramming EVs down dealers throats. Huge inventory NOT retail sales. Folks, come on, let’s remember this. 185 days inventory…
You had an amazing physique there!!
Well... I feel tesla delayed india launch. Its not same as 2022 any more. Lots of options now in Indian market now for EV. And tesla will not be able to provide same level of convenience they offer in USA
Wake up and smell the roses 🌹 from Trisha
“Tesla semi engineers would have something to say about the 200 mile range.” Right, but how many semis are being delivered right now? Until anyone who wants one can buy one, the range of Tesla semi is meaningless. And besides, most small businesses aren’t shipping with semis.
Oh man, this is not gonna edge well for O’Brien
Tesla has pre produced Model 3 Ludicrous. That's why the production is much higher than deliveries. They couldn't deliver cars that people couldn't order.

Wrong thing to open factory in in India
It might indicate extreme confidence in Compact implied pricing.
Any time is a bad time to open a factory in India! If you think Germany had problems, you ain't seen nothin' yet!
The front trunk is called an E trunk? Could they have picked a more bland and not even useful name? And they haven't even started really selling the previous electric truck,.. Although I do have to say this one is pretty impressive with all of its features. But GM has so far proven they can't really build EV's at all, their only successful one was the bolt which was actually an LG car. None of their own cars have been able to ramp up even a little bit.
As a Tesla investor I'm pretty salty about the whole Xai situation, the whole bull case for Tesla is solving autonomy and Musk having his own Ai company in competition is untenable for the CEO imo.
I agree, I am a huge Elon fan and heavily invested in Tesla but Elon needs to be more focused on AI\FST @ Tesla and strengthening the Optimus teams and not pouching Tesla talent for his own personal gains. It seems like a huge conflict of interest. Elon needs a new comp plan and resolution on the appeal of the 55 bil comp plan judgment. The high valuation of Tesla is dependent on the future of Optimus and FSD and not Tesla as a car company.
You don't realise that the presence of Xai kept the talent within the Tesla sphere, rather than losing the expertise to "Open" Ai?

Right, just like the "market" did with GM and the EV1 in spite of the customers clamoring and begging to buy their vehicles. You're living in a pipe dream. How do you propose to get big oil and their FUD and misinformation campaigns out of the "market"?
Disagree with Kevin’s sentiment but agree that we should ideally allow the market to take its course. But that only works at tue correct pace to market if we end all fossil fuel subsidies. Free market would be best but we’re a long way away from that scenario.

Let me see now. LG Energy Solution made the burning batteries that forced GM to recall every Bolt.
Now LG Energy Solution has built a new battery factory (probably using taxpayer's money?) for GM.
What has changed? To repeat a mistake and expect a different result is pure insanity.
But, of course, consulting the world leader (no Mary and Joe, that's not GM) is out of the question. Pride and ego get in the way.
Lame parroted comments about “we are not ready for electric “ the oil industry has been using that one for decades. The first car was electric. The only reason we haven’t switched is oil & it’s politicians who run protection for the industry that pays them the most.

9:59 it’s wasn’t a tough quarter for everyone. Toyota (21% qoq), Ford, Honda, Nissan all up. US auto sale up 5.6%
Hey D. Thanks as always. When are we going to talk about the residual value cliff used Teslas have driven straight off? It’s made for a mess of a market. It’s very hard to see my Y depreciate 40% (Los Angeles market) in less than 2 years.
It's not just electrics. BMW depreciation is industry-leading
There's always a cost for early adopters.
@@billweberxThat’s fair to say, but can we really call the people buying the world’s best selling car early adopters?
@@chrisg8995 Well, it wasn't always the worlds best selling car. That's a recent development. Most of the people who bought Tesla's did so at a much higher cost than you can buy one today.
We were in strange times recently. In the beginning of 2023 many people could sell their few year old cars for the price of a new car. Now it's back to normal. I would say that 30% drop on first year and 20% drop next year is quite normal.
Elon is great, but a normal looking, more functional electric truck would sell more, but Elon is a big baby boy(and a genius) and wanted to build the cybertruck instead. the model X with gull wing doors also makes no sense. It could a more normal looking suv, like a jeep, or explorer. It would sell more. And obviously they shouldn’t have wasted all this time developing the cybertruck when they could have been developing the model 2. They are losing first mover advantage in so many countries because of the availability of inexpensive EV’s from China. So that’s why I dumped all my shares at $275 and now I might buy them back at a %35 discount. But FSD could be the saving grace of course??
I don't like Gerber and his antics at all, but he does have a point. Tesla needs to be natural. We have a lot of EV enthusiasts that are liberal left and catering to the Tump anti EV and trash talking your EV supporters is not great for business. Trust me I can't stand the woke movement or E. Warren. It is just a weird situation that needs a super awesome PR advisor and team to navigate not a one man band on X.
If Trump watches the movie. " Climate "and realizes CO2 is an asset , not a liability , he will end all EV subsidies ( assuming he is elected )
- Everyone seems to be forgetting that one of Elon Musk's most cherished goals is to completely automate Tesla's manufacturing assembly lines. Robots everywhere. Human labor nowhere. And UBI for everyone.
- As for Elon, he needs to learn how to keep his mouth shut (at least, when he's not in his own factories, and maybe even then...).
↗↗↗↗↗2024 Delivery Forecast.
Best way to deal with Ross and his flip flop marketing game for himself, is to ignore him totally. It seem he provokes, to get a response, to boost his Elon 'X' association, to boost his own following. Everyone should simply not respond and give him a more lonely space to sound off.
Tesla deliveries are down to the extent that they are below the most pessimistic estimate..
What about a ratio for each time ELON goes screwball on TwitterX, RUclips or a TV interview and the plunge in potential new customer sentiment?
How do you measure that? Poll isn't actual, when in actual sales still goes up... the negative sentiment against cybertruck is rampant on the internet while in person owners of cybertruck see that people are generally enthusiastic about the CT.
There's absolutely no correlation.
