FSD supervised must be - well - supervised. Supervision only makes sense when the human driver is better than the auto-driver, is competently monitoring the system and able to intervene within 1 or 2 seconds - therefore with hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. As Dillon pointed out: those people unable to drive safely must not rely on a Level 2 system. Otherwise this Level 2 system may cause more accidents, hurt more people and cause additional injuries and damage, all of which the senior then is responsible for for not using the Level 2 system correctly. We are far (likely many years) from the point, where Tesla accepts its liability in a Level 4 system and drives elderly people around in a Robotaxi like fashion. The renaming to “FSD supervised” should have made this clear, even if it is still a misnomer with the "full self-driving" in it. Better name would have been: "human-supervised automated driving".

For the heart attack, getting assistance quickly is literally life or death. An extra 15-20min waiting for an ambulance could have easily been enough to end it. Not certain on the timeline, but no one ever is.
Of course, if he hadn't made it in time, the Tesla likely would have come to a stop on its own without injuring anyone

Calling 911 means delays. The operator will be asking tons of questions. He was able to get to his car. So we are not sure if the 911 operator would have made the decision to send the paramedics. By the way, this also assumes that there is a unit available and the ambulance will not experience any delays. The patient considered it an emergency, so let’s take it at his word.

I can see how Tesla could revolutionize the ambulance business.
The first thing would be building an ambulance basted on the Cybertruck.
Those vehicles are heavy , but have to drive fast and safely.
Cybertruck with a fInal FSD might be perfect for that.
Eventually it could have Optimus paramedics and be parked waiting distributed about a city.
Optimus can wait patiently, while humans can't.
For a heart attack, getting the patient fast into the ambulance and treatment there.might be the most important thing. But Optimus would be able to tell the hospital what's incoming, so they are prepared for it.
Someone in the Healthcare business should take this idea and run with it!

Since power is billed out separately as part of a Triple Net Lease, it would add to the utility of the service. One time the office building I was HQed in had a power outage due to 104 degree temperature. Having back up power would have come in handy.

    Dillon, love your news channel.
On the Elon/India business, it's worth remembering British Commonwealth connections. The British Raj was the underpinning of the modern Indian state. English law, English schools, English thinking. Elon is South African, and I'll bet he is very aware of the commonality, and this factor also means the Indian government will bend more towards Elon because they recognize he's not a sociopath. He's genuinely there to help.
I think we'll see Tesla building a factory for the $25,000 car in India. A Robotaxi service would be wonderful for Indians, because it would be very inexpensive, and if Tesla have any brains, they'll recruit taxi drivers to be owners of their Robotaxis. It will make the unemployment issues moot. The rest of the current Tesla models could be imported from China. If the Chinese market warrants it, Tesla may design a car in India. There's a lot of talent in India. I can see Tesla becoming a very important pillar of a new Indian tech sector.
Hertz running ads to promote Tesla rentals: a good friend of mine was renting a Model 3 from Hertz in California to drive for Uber. He is very Tesla-smart, so the fact that neither Uber or Hertz had a flier to tell people about the fundamentals of charging meant that for newbies to Tesla, the whole process was a nightmare. It would have been easy to help new Tesla drivers with information on charging. Both Tesla and Hertz lost a huge opportunity to educate renters about EVs and make the charging process seamless.
This underlines Tesla's amateurish marketing team. Where they interface with the world of Tesla users, they're not thinking about the problem of educating customers one at a time.
I've used national campaigns to teach people about products, and my approach was always educational. This is the best way to remove FUD and fake news.
Elon probably needs somebody on his staff who has done a complex high-tech hardware and software startup, from product conception, design, manufacturing, quality control, marketing, sales, and long-term maintenance. I've done that in the past building my own company into a national presence, and it's a real-time job. .
But right now, this is where Tesla is failing. It's not enough for Tesla to say Reuter's is lying, there needs to be follow-up and information management systems. AI would make this job a delight.
And I'm sick of fake news around Tesla. I'd clean that up very fast. I'd start suing people, probably using the RICO laws. 😅😅

    My thoughts FSD (supervised)…
    Transferable, any vehicle anytime.
    -2 day pass $29
    -$99/monthly Subscription. (base price)
    -One year contract~10% off. ($89/month)
    -Two year contract~20% off. ($79/month)
    -Three year contract~30% off. ($69/month)
    #Tesla
    #ElonMusk

  • @RogerWilsonTodd
    @RogerWilsonTodd Месяц назад

FSD Supervised doesn’t save time, reduce attention requirements, or lessen liability, and claims of increased safety are difficult to demonstrate.
FSD’, in its current form at $199/month, is gee-whiz software for geeks and the wealthy.
To achieve at least 80% adoption, FSD Supervised needs to be priced at $49/month.
Anything more, and most owners will simply pocket their money and continue driving themselves.
And if Tesla can’t achieve mass adoption within its OWN fleet, you can forget licensing deals to other automakers.

I'd have to disagree with the "small minority of buyers" description when describing Elon's negative PR effect on possible new purchasers. I've followed Tesla since the beginning and I am a fan. However, when discussing the product with others the overwhelming reason I've found that steer people away from the brand is Elon Musk. No other person could have got the company this far, but this is a new day and his public comments and rants of the last 3 years are obstructing the mission of Tesla.

Tesla should build a factory in India only for the domestic market. It will give them the tax benefits they need to compete with others. However, to export, it can’t match China’s efficiency. Maybe it will be useful if there are geopolitical issues with China.

Invisible Urban Charging with their invisible hands in my pocket, removing rent money to pay them and the property owner money I don't want to pay them. Far better to not have a rent seeking middle man scam. Just install batches of Tesla wall chargers. At cost operation and the HOA or property owner can deal with distributing the demand charges correctly.
I spent time looking at charging in a 470 spot parking lot for a condo. These rent seekers are to be avoided. Tesla chargers cooperate in batches of 16. You can just install batches of 16 till you are done.

6:37 - How many consultants or financial analysts make analyses of the defense and military industry and never have launched a rocket or a missile, nor driven a tank or a submarine or been pilot in a fighter jet, nor have first-hand experience in a war region? Even with Model 3/Y being consumer products: this makes very limited sense. Driving experience is very subjective, and what one person will like, another one will dislike. Let alone, that you then also need to drive the competitors. It is hard to judge a future share price of a company by subjective product experience.

Another great informative video. Regarding China and India, yes, China is VERY salty when it comes to collaborating business ventures with India. The past records show some questionable decisions by India, after Chinese firms had successfully setup in India, forcing the Chinese out. (and leaving the factories behind). One just has to look at the past dealings with Xiaomi, Vivo, XTC, where they were ALL SCREWED by India after investing 100's $m USD. IMHO, Tesla must beware of Modi's support for local oligarchs, above any non-Indian partners. The amount of sway, wielded by the likes of Adani, and Tata (for example), is enormous. Chinese EV makers have probably dodged a bullet by being with held permission to enter the Indian manufacturing market.
