Dillon, extrem dumm ist just german for extremely dumb
Hi Dillon, Round up or down as you see fit.
The people who damaged the Tesla construction in Germany may claim to be left-wing extremists, but they are not. They are right-wing extremists. 1:40
Dillon, I'm like you - I prefer specifics/accuracy over rounding when it comes to numbers. 23k is not 22.7k for example. Borrowing a line from Jack Reacher - details matter! 🙂
Round
This volcano group deserves serious jail time.
Absolutely. Those terrorists needs to be caught.
Will not happen. They are known for years and the germans do nothing. Germany WANTS to become poor and destute, Just like the Brits. They WANT Tesla to relocate to hungary. What i said since 2019.
along with their paymaster.
as does the oil industry manipulating them.
The group is not against EV’s. VW has a plant in Germany dedicated to EV’s and the plant has never been attacked and will never be attacked. So are other car makers with EV factories in Germany. This is a hit job and look at other EV factories not attacked to know those behind the group!
The group is against tesla and nothing else.
The russians are behind this group of course. They finance them. I am sure the Arabs pay too.
Anti-American sentiment is still going strong in left wing parts of German society. We have overcome the RAF terrorists and will overcome these assholes, too.
Notice how many different groups are "in the frame"?
.
Objective achieved?
@@rogerstarkey5390 Yes, certainly.
Tesla = BAD
VW = GOOD.
Nothing new in the West.
it sure seems that the only winner from this attack is VW.
22.7K preferred because it's more precise.
It actually was quite a bad idea to build this factory in Germany. Especially when it would be very welcome in Estonia or Poland where they also have great engineers.
In your opinion Giga Berlin was a bad idea but that doesn't make it a bad idea.
Ofc it was a bad idea in hindsight.
The heart of politically correct EU is not the best place for agile manufacturing. Excessive red tape and brainwashed loony eco-fascists.
In case you guys don't know:
There is a war going on in Europe, in Ukraine, which neighbors Poland.
Germany is still flooded with Russian spies. So is Poland and Estonia. The German terrorists who killed German industry leaders in the 1970s were backed by Moscow. After the collapse of the Soviet Union some of them were found in East Germany.
The Russian Kremlin currently supports all terrorist groups in Germany and other European countries to take the battle in Ukraine to the European infrastructure.
It wasn't a bad idea, Germany is known as the leading location for car manufacture in Europe - Tesla sent a clear message by going there.
I believe the $6B wasn't $289,000 per lawyer but $289,000 per hour for the time spent on the case (21,000). That includes lawyers, paralegals, legal assistants, and others spent on the case.
Oddly 6 billion/ 37 = $167,167,167.167167167... who doesn't want an infinitely repeating pile o cash.
Lawyers are rats. A blight on our society.
Thanks for your regular news. I'm from Germany and watching all of them. Elon's comment ending "ist extrem dumm" actually was correct German language :)
Bescheuert would be more accurate!
@@t.r.766 Does anyone expect pearls of wisdom from terrorists? Really?
Three significant figures! The engineers' golden rule!
When 3 significant digits exist. This is not always the case.
corporate rule: precision over accuracy. What is the delivery date for that.. no not quarter, we want a date. sure April 15th. lol nope not accurate but much more precise than Q2 .
That is a slide rule rule!
May I suggest one of those constant aerial surveillance services that puts a drone or small aircraft over the area 24/7 and assigns a number to each heat sig in a FLIR setup, then when one of the little thermal pixel groups does something nasty, you run your tape backwards and see where they came from and forward and see where they went. I know they didn't catch a lot of criminals when they did entire cities at once but maybe they could do Tesla fine. Whatever they do Tesla has the talent and capital to defend itself in a proactive manner. Perhaps public image promotion should figure into it too.
When our Sierra was new my eyes had to leave the road to find the buttons. Now, we have a Tesla, very intuitive, while new, we just used verbal commands. Easy.
22.7K preferred
Round up if 0.5+, round down if 0.4-
Your commenter was correct; I thought the same thing when I saw it too.
You be you Dillon. Recite numbers how you wish.
Correction Dillan - it's $288,800 & change PER BILLABLE HOUR! Not per lawyer, if you can believe that. I'm shouting because of just how ridiculous the payout would be :-0
That's why there should be a cap on how much lawyers can ask, the "billable hour" is a good estimation of their real work needed. In the same way where there should be a cap to CEO's (total) salary as a multiplier of their average salary for their workers. It can't be that CEO's are making tens of thousands multiplier of their workers, everything needs to be relative and compensation have to come down. This whole "the rich become richer and the poor become poorer" has to stop!
@@AndreasWest "In the same way where there should be a cap to CEO's (total) salary as a multiplier of their average salary for their workers. This whole "the rich become richer and the poor become poorer" has to stop!"
Nonsense. The wages are being made on a free market. If there were more great CEO's available the wages would go down. And how much money an CEO makes doesn't affect regular people in any significant way.
@@yourcrazybear Your comment defies any logic. "And how much money an CEO makes doesn't affect regular people in any significant way.” - so where’s that money coming from that the CEO gets? It’s from the same company that otherwise could raise the wages for his factory workers or invest more in their development/up skilling/healthcare benefits or any other direct benefit for the worker.
@@A4XRBJ1 "Your comment defies any logic."
Incorrect.
""And how much money an CEO makes doesn't affect regular people in any significant way.” - so where’s that money coming from that the CEO gets? It’s from the same company that otherwise could raise the wages for his factory workers or invest more in their development/up skilling/healthcare benefits or any other direct benefit for the worker."
The job position of a CEO is on an open market where a company can attract the best person for the job, which increases the performance of the company. Let's take Apple's CEO into consideration here. It has been reported that he has a base salary of $3 million and the company have around 161 000 employees. That's $18,6 per employee that you are whining about. Very significant?
For 37 people 6 billion is equal to over 162 million per person! Yikes!
I can do most screen functions using voice without taking my eyes off the road.
Thank you! I can't believe how silent so many people are about voice activation.
I just make sure to keep a key card on me at all times. My car fails to respond to my phone often enough that it's a necessity.
I agree 100%. My Samsung phone unlocks my Model Y successfully about 95% of the time. The remaining 5% isn't terrible but can be annoying. There are four drivers in our household, each have their own key card for a backup. Tesla makes them available at a very reasonable price and your can self activate them. Unlike the $800 CDN my son just paid to have his 2014 Ford Escape key fob replaced and activated at the Ford dealership. One more point for Tesla.
anyone stuck on how you round numbers needs to work on being less ridiculous
"anyone stuck on how you round numbers needs to work on being less ridiculous"
And by that you are referering to what exactly?
Any Tesla operator/monitor can EASILY use. Verbal Commands to set temperature and fan speed!
The "interesting spelling" of "Ist extreme dumb" I believe is translated from German to English as "Is extremely stupid."
I think Elon said it intentionally in German, which why it wasn't translated to English.
Same - keep the numbers as you have.
Dillion, thank you for being open to doing what viewers want, but the 22.7 vs 23 thing is just so trivial. Do it how you want to do it and I think listeners/viewers will survive either way.
I think these are the kind of things that made it that much easier for Rob at Tesla Daily to end his efforts.
Dillon I don't care how you share the numbers - peps being padantic !!
It is spelled pedantic. (I just had too.. lol.. sorry)
Word
Yes.
It’s all down to context.
Hear, hear.
Your channel. You do you. (and you do it well)
I prefer your more precise numbers instead of the round offs.
Same.
Me to.
It's incredible that people care how you express numbers! The important thing is only to ensure that rounding does not change the narrative
Preference for 3 significant digits, with proper rounding up /down
I also spoke a minor error - the Model Y is 2.9 inches shorter than the R2 leak specs, not 2 inches like I said!
Should that be rounded up to 3 inches? 🤣
So you incorrectly rounded down. No biggie! ;-)
Should round up to 6 inches. I do.
OMG 😱 😂😅😊
9:30 "that breaks down to... AN HOURLY RATE OF... $289k for each of the 37 lawyers"
Exactly. Not $289,000 per lawyer. That would in an and of itself be insane. We are talking about jokingly absurdly not even real or funny insane. Like it’s almost as if they are insane or kidding over the top.
@@papafamilias92010what’s more insane/unreasonable is a $56 billion pay package to a CEO.
It took 37 lawyers to write "because you know.. fuck that guy Elon"
@@papafamilias92010 pretty sure that a $56 billion pay package works out to more than $289k per hour for Elon, but of course that’s not insane/unreasonable to you 😅
@@jeffsalvesen8450 well, 100 hrs/wk. 5000 hrs per year, 4 yrs is 20,000 hrs.
So, about $3 milliom/hr.
Thks Dillon, not only for what you are doing with a great spirit but how you do it: precisely, well researched, up to date, reliably with a keen sense of humour while keeping it all serious.
With renewed encouragements. 😅
$289k per hour per lawyer and paralegal not per person. Major difference in what you said and what the article spelled out
Not a major difference, still THREE orders of magnitude ridiculous.
@@jl.4317 "Not a major difference,"
On the contrary. It's a big difference.
Can you run the numbers on the lawyer feed again? You said $289,000 for each of the 39 lawyers but that’s only 11.27M. It’s actually $289,000 PER HOUR of their time as far as I know.
Specifically, in Minnesota and Missouri, legislation was introduced to completely ban car radios when first introduced. Many other states discouraged using radios while driving. No laws were created.
Use your own judgment on when rounding seems reasonable
Same.
Decimal point is great.
Keep doing what you doing
I don't know if it should be concluded (3:48) at this point that the three groups are "totally separate." The three groups may very well be collaborating.
Good point. It may be ONE group. Until one of the pigs squeals, we won't know.
@@FrunkensteinVonZipperneck Judging from how these things worked here in the past with left-wing groups, most likely there will be a small number of members of the public group supporting the terrorists, or they may even themselves be members, but nothing at the top of those groups. If they were right-wing groups, I'd expect the opposite. At least over here, there are some significant differences in how left- and right-wing extremists and terrorists work.
Given all the celebrities that have been showing up in Cybertrucks, i think it would be perfect if we could see Ludacris driving a Model 3 Ludicrous
hey, Dillon. My preference is to keep the precision that is reported. Thanks for asking!
Keep it simple and round off. Thanks for your great work!
I sick of all the attacks on shareholders and option holders, they have been exercising options to force sales by anyone selling puts, whether through butterflies or any other strategy
Agreed about the overuse of touch screens, there are some things I won't do when driving alone that I could easily do in my old cars. Removing stalks is also a terrible idea.
I’ve test driven the new 3. Didn’t miss the stalks at all.
Not gonna lie the carfridge built into the li auto van is a pretty neat amenity😂
That’s great that you have the podcast
You got to get down to that last digit! Make sure to say all the decimal places too! Instead of saying pi say every digit and decimal place! In all seriousness how you are doing it is great.
Sorry- Learned this 60 years ago.
pi = 3.141592653589793238462643383279502884197169399375105820.
About 15 years ago, I mentioned this when the son of a college classmate was listening. He asked if I could write it down. I did and handed him the paper. He at least doubled the number of digits I had written. He works for SpaceX now. 😎👍
Same. Don’t round numbers.
You have one of the best Tesla pod casts on the web. I follow you all the time. I am a retired EE ,89 and both a Tesla and Elon fan. Keep up your good work, round your numbers. keep it simple.
I have my lights, AC, wipers, etc on auto and use voice commands to adjust in the unlikely event that I want to change them. Screen or button is not relevant.
Round would be my slight preference, but no big deal
Dillon - I normally prefer the 3 significant digits, like you normally provide.
DUDE …
You will NEVER please the masses. Ignore the noise. Id prefer you round down 1/10th. Then alternate by rounding up 1/10th.
You’re doing great. Excellent tone, pitch, cadence and speed. Content is superb.
Do you bro. Don’t sweat pleasing fractions of fractions.
Peace 😎🤙🏼
Same... Who would complain about accurate numbers? Sorry you had to actually address such a ridiculous request.
Jeez. That Li Auto "Mega" is quite the Clark Griswald extended family hauler. Vacation 2024 EV-edition?
Definitely prefer rounded numbers. Usually the extra precision is just noise.
I doubt the 'Volcano Group' would have been concerned when that 'forest' ( tree farm ) was harvested for cardboard, which was what the previous owners planted it for.
Great job - keep it up.
About this powercut from Tesla factory I want to say that bigger hospitals have multiple power inlets to make sure that power outages are made as rare as possible. Powerlines can also be dug underground to protect them. Last resource should be reliable and protected emergency powerplant. These are doable though costly ways to protect factory against these kind of attacks. Surveillance should not be forgotten though.
What happens once they find out who is responsible for the sabotage?
Nothing, lefties will cry like babies and get away with it as the German government is spineless since Angela retired. SAD
A court case will ensue, no doubt!
I am happy the way you present your videos, keep everything the same! Thanks for another great one Dillon!!
same -- your free choice
Keep up the awesome work!
Thanks!
Yay finally podcasts! I've been struggling to find the time daily to follow your show, but now I can on my way to work in the car! :)
Very informative as usual. Great observation on Australian emission standards.
Totally agree with too much stuff being put into touch screens. Getting rid of the gear stalk is definitely a dumb move.
Regarding rounding or not, IMHO the most important thing is for numbers to be precise enough for their context and purpose. For example, if it’s an estimate with a significant margin of error and you’re comparing against other numbers, it’s better to round. But, If you have precise numbers which are very close in amount to other precise numbers you’re comparing with, it’s better not to round beyond the threshold where the difference wouldn’t be noticeable. IOW, use common sense making sure that your choice is consistent with the message the numbers should provide.
The watch would be amazing! Thank you for all your info!
I don't like all the things being on the screen either. Buttons on the steering wheels still a good thing!
Best TSLA channel out there. Keep up the good work !
Same. significant digits matter.
Round Thank you ✨
I kind of like the way you are doing it now but don’t mind if you change it.
Physical critical controls. I've had the screen reboot a handful of times sometimtes driving, no big deal so far but I see the need.
05:00 lol.. it‘s german Dillon. Elon knows how to play the game🎉
As far as the buttons are concerned, I almost always use the voice commands. My one issue is you cannot turn the lights on or off with voice commands. I don't understand how that was skipped over.
I can't believe that some people are so petty that they complain about rounding up 22.7k. unbelievable.
Same. Private investigators are needed. Publish their names and addresses on X
Same. The way you presented #s are good.
thx for the podcast version
Same. would be nice to be able to close window with remote app.
This is a great Fisker update. I hope they survive, but they seem to be struggling. Thank you!
Prefer to round to 3 significant figures. 22.96 rounds to 30.0 and 22.94 rounds to 22.9.
The jaguar ev @17:15 is not 100k euros.. Is 100k british pound sterling..
I've used Tessie to unlock my Model X from my iWatch many times.
Keep the #’s correct!
I like how you refer to numbers. Round them as you see fit. IMHO
The spelling is in German! Well done,as always. Round.
Same. Your smooth standard of excellence and continuous improvement adherence seems to be electrified.
Round please!
The point 7 is a bit annoying at times. Especially when dealing with lots of numbers.
Don't round in most cases unless really close to the integer. Significant digits are often beneficial.
SAME please and thanks for all your hard work
Keep the precision as is. Numbers past the decimal point are important.
NCAP is just living in the past. Voice controls are way superior to buttons and can be used for all basic functions. Touchscreens are the way to go.
I'm glad to see an emphasis towards bringing back more physical controls.
Thanks for all that you do Dillon. I would prefer a 3 digit number vs. rounding to 2 digits. However 4 digits or more are *usually* better to display rounded to 3 digits.
Keep it up!!!
22.7k preferred
22.7k. Thanks.
Loomis. All government regulations are taxes in some form or another. If you compell a manufacturer to increase efficiency that creates a cost to the customer.
