I'm brown-skinned oily skin and i use the Tatcha sunscreen, the white cast goes away and it is somehow mattifying which is a win win for me. It is also the best mineral sunscreen i've ever used
So I bought the Neutrogena hydro boost because as an oily gal I'm always looking for that holy grail sunscreen that wears well under makeup, and doesn't alter the staying power of my foundation. This sunscreen was NOT it. Contrary to what she said in the video, it does not dry down matte. It doesn't even dry down. I waited the full 15 minutes in front of a fan before attempting to put on my foundation, and my face still looked greasy and wet. And if I touched my face, it didn't feel dry. The sunscreen would transfer on to my fingers. Because the sunscreen was too greasy I went in with the Maybelline Super Stay Active Wear. Which many people don't like, cause they say it's too drying and matte. I used A LOT more foundation than I normally have to, and an insane amount of pressed powder to cover up the insane glowiness, and let me tell you that even after all that pressed powder, I was already starting to look glowy again after only about 30 minutes. I can't believe that they made a water gel sunscreen that ended up being for people with dry skin. There's enough glowy products for dry skin out there. When are we oily people going to have a sunscreen made for us? The only one that seems to work for me is the Supergoop Matte Screen but it's too expensive to buy regularly, and the consistency is made to be used more as a primer, not as a sunscreen. I'm very disappointed. Hey Susan! If your line ever makes a sunscreen, please keep oily people in mind and make a matte version. Not a comfortable matte, like you keep saying. But a matte matte! A true matte!
Anyone who wants the Tatcha but is not impressed by the price, colorescience has their Sunforgettable line and it looks a whole lot like this one. I am in love with it. Comes in classic that’s semi matte, matte, bronze, and glow. It’s 10 dollars off right now which makes it $29.
I LOVE the Sisley SUPER STICK SOLAIRE SPF 50+ TEINTÉ. Amazing for 40 year old dry combination skin. Looks beautiful. A bit dark in color, but looks awesome on my olive skin tone. It's a one and done, no need for makeup. Does not get into fine lines, makes your skin looks great. So happy I found this. I don't like to wear much makeup, and am trying to use sunscreen daily. I HIGHLY recommend. Worth the investment if you are sort of lazy about sunscreen and don't want to do heavy makeup everyday. Covers all my sunspots, imperfections, beautiful.
I literally just used the glow recipe one this morning for the first time. I did experience the peeling, thanks for your tips though, I’ll try again tomorrow. I really want to love it!
I repurchased the tatcha sunscreen. I love it. I am willing to only wear tatcha and super goop unseen sunscreen. Those two are the best I have ever used.
Thank you Susan! There are so many sunscreens in the market and new ones coming out, all the time. It’s so nice to have a breakdown; and it’s really nice to have a good expert on it, to give you a guide☺️ You look so beautiful! Always a joy to watch🤗💕
Highly recommend looking into Suntegrity. I use their face sunscreen that is also a primer and the texture is so smooth and it has tons of ingredients that benefit the skin. The backstory to how the company started is also very meaningful.
Love these recommendations. Would love if you could include a "makeup friendly" favorites section next time. I love a sunscreen that can double as a moisturizer and NON- Pilling, can also be worn under makeup. Those are actually must haves for me. so non-silicones. If it pills and I can't also wear it under makeup. NO GO!
Thanks for the tip,! because this one I can buy :-) The ones on the list are unfortunately unavailable where I live :-( and maybe in the rest of Europe too😥
@@Lyra-Celeste13 I believe so, maybe possible to get the glow recipe one, but really after i have tried to beauty of joseon one i do not feel like trying other sunscreens out atm, it truly is the best i have ever tried, and the price is pretty fair as well.
Ugh I hate having to use Sunscreen everyday. It always makes me breakout so I’m constantly trying to find the right one for my skin 😩 so this video is helpful! I just bought the hero super light spf and zitsticka breakout proof spf serum from target as well as the supergoop unseen sunscreen for makeup days. Hoping one of them works for me.. I’ve been debating trying the tatcha one 👀 but wanted to wait for more reviews since it’s so new. Good to know you’re a fan!
For me one that works well for my oily skin is the zitstika megashade!! I love it and the consistency is so different I feel like I can pile it up and not have a white cast. I tried the unseen sunscreen but I wasn’t a big fan of the texture and I felt like it broke me out. Would definitely recommend the zitstika for oily acne prone folks! Wouldn’t wear it for beach days though as it’s not reef friendly 🐠
@@laurajones4457 I also have dry skin (AZ girl) I would say it feels dewy, silky, lightweight on the skin. I would still use my moisturizer before applying this though, because I am so dry.
I wear sunscreen because of you. I noticed that the brown sun spots on my face were not going away as I got older. I realized I need to be wearing sunscreen even when I don’t think I’m getting much sun so now I wear it everyday. Even at 45 my skin is still oily, thankfully not as bad as when I was younger so that is good. I drink water all day and don’t use acne stripping skin care all day where as back in the day I thought that was what I needed to do to combat the oil and acne. I do like sunscreen moisturizer because I feel like it is too heavy and greasy if I use two separate products plus as the day goes on I notice my makeup just separates faster if I do that. I don’t mind some glow because as I have gotten older I feel my skin some days is dull but I don’t want the grease so it is tricky to find the right products. Thanks for the review. I will try the Neutragena just because it is easily accessible while I’m grocery shopping for the family. 😊
I hope some of the upcoming sunscreens have published data on photo-stability, water & sweat resistance, and breadth of UVA protection. The FDA doesn't require those aspects to be labelled, so it causes a lot of confusion for us skinnerds on which sunscreen to wear.
Many chemical sunscreens sting my eyes and that's why I prefer physical sunscreens. However as you mentioned, it can be very tricky to find a good physical sunscreen. Thank you for this video.
I am loving the Murad oil and pore control mattifier spf 45 PA++++. It controls oil and blurs texture. Plays well with skincare and makeup. And you can use a lot and it sinks right in like it’s not there. Good stuff.
Have you tried the Jaxon Lane “Rain or Shine” SPF 50? I’m obsessed with it, it goes on like a light moisturizer - so good for ppl who don’t like greasy sunscreen and it has a nice light fragrance that’s barely there but just enough
I have oily skin and the Glow Recipe sunscreen looks AMAZING under a little bit of RCMA powder. It gives me brightness not oily look. 😃 I though you may like to know. Thanks for the recommendations. 😉
I’ve been waiting for you to do a review on the Tatcha sunscreen. I was hoping you’d tell us it’s not that great and not to spend the $60. Now I have no way to justify not getting it lol.

Can anyone recommend a sunscreen that works well under a face of makeup? :) looking for something that doesn’t look too oily under foundation
If you don't like the smell of the Neutrogena Hydroboost sunscreen, I believe they have a fragrance free version of it.
You finally got through my thick skull! I am shooting around for and trying facial sunscreen! Lol it’s now my new obsession!
