Just went to my little brothers wedding shower. He is a witness so there were several witnesses there from my childhood congregation coming up to say hi after many many years of zero contact. They would ask me how I'm doing, and when I would ask them it would be "WHO DIED, WHO'S SICK, HOW BAD THINGS ARE", and that they are just getting by day by day. It really threw my girlfriend off.... it was very uncanny.

Awesome video! When my daughter did her initial cry for help because my jw husband was sexually abusing her, I was told to "Get out in service. It will make you feel better." So there I was, 3 days after the shocking news, homeless with 2 teenage children, trying to go door to door. I only made it an hour. Service & meetings did not make my kids & I feel better. Leaving the cult made all 3 of us feel much better!
Parents are jw, glad my older brothers and I knew the real “truth” from birth🙏
The whole shaming people about their entertainment choices is so dull. The elders who are giving these talks in the hall are the same elders who would swear at the TV when they used to play call of duty in my living room😂

Snitch culture is alive and well for JWs. I’ve been out 10 yrs and they still ask my jw parents if they’ve seen me celebrating Christmas. I’m 34 years old and have my own home and family. It’s so weird.

I did go to them. Only to tell what i had done. At 14 not realizing they wanted more answers. One of them talked to their wives. I was shunned, as an active member of the cong. For years. I wasn't punished for going to them. The cong punished me for "telling"

Well she was constantly told to use that strength for Jehovah she didn't need to go to college...and she would cry because she felt guilty for wanting to go to school!! Fast forward 10 years, left the abusive MS husband (Still very PIMI) with my 3 daughters and now my oldest is going to start her second year in college, got a scholarship, and is on the deans list🎉! We can now honestly say we are happy. Thanks as always Wally for the hard work you put in to these videos to help shutdown organized religious cults❤

They always say “stay close to the congregation, your brothers and sisters love you!” when it’s really one of the most toxic environments you can be in. I’ve never experienced such judgmental people after leaving. Jw’s always made me feel worse when I was down, but after leaving I’ve never felt better

Watchtower loves to keep their members constantly under their guilt of sin. It is one way to control them. The Bible clearly teaches that you do not confess your sins to an organization, or to Jehovah. In Acts chapter 3, Peter heals a lame man and then he is arrested. In Acts chapter4 he explains to the authorities that: Acts 4:10 …… that by the name of Jesus of Nazareth,……..this man stands here before you whole.
Then Peter continues in Acts:12 Neither is there salvation in any other name under heaven among men, whereby we must be saved.
Paul tells us in Romans 8:1 There is now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus…. Psalm 103:12 As far as the East is from the West, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Finally, Romans 10:9 if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. No organization need.
Nevertheless, the hour is coming, and it is now, when the true worshippers will worship the Father with spirit and truth, for indeed, the Father is looking for ones like these to worship him. God is a Spirit, and those worshipping him must worship with spirit and truth.”

When I was 11, I started to realize something wasn’t right about what I was being taught at these meeting I’ve been going to for my whole life, especially when it came to their views of the lgbtq community and the roles of women. I’ve been counting down the days for almost five years pretty much, and once I turn 18 I’m going to go live with my friend
But seriously, good luck with saving for a place. I’ve found, the more you push yourself away from this group, the more freedom you’ll get to feel, and you’ll realize that life can be great, actually, and it’s totally FINE to think critically for yourself. The minute you realize that you never did anything wrong my thinking for yourself, is the moment you get a fresh start.

In case you didn't know, when you get reproved and have your privileges taken away, then later when they allow you to comment at meetings again, the elders TELL YOU to start with one word answers! Then when you do that for awhile, they will give you permission to say a whole sentence, but just one sentence and they CAUTION you to "not elaborate and not get carried away" with your comnents until you are "strong spiritually again."
I think there's a comment about it in the Shepherding book btw. So, this is more evidence that this is not a real experience. It just happens to line up too perfectly with the point they want to make.

These people's manipulation and gaslighting skills are way better than my ex's. They get off on punishing and controlling the sheep. I can't believe it took me this long to realize that all I had to do is turn to God and not to these men to confess (it's a confession, not going to them for help). They're no different than the Catholic church that relies on confession.

It depends on the congregation you grew up in, everyone minus a few families, were related!!! They were all really close, and my dad, being an Elder, we all got along really well, and very close!!! But now when I've visited the congregations, I can't talk to them, but they seem more like you're talking about. I think people have cooled off!!! P.S. I think that's why in 1974 or 1975 all of us kids who were about the same age lined up to give our answer to each question and got baptized. I had no idea what I was doing.

Which of course how the heck could we know when the world will end dude? He said there will be wars and rumors of wars, but don't let anyone tell you they know when the end is. Totally plain and simple and easy to understand-no twisting needed. Yet they constantly have to claim they know the date. And then when that date is wrong it's the next date. And so on and so on. I wish they would just stop.

I had to tell my family to please stop contacting me only to tell me brother David passed away. At 12.08 This man just can't help getting things wrong. The Roman Catholic Church by the 10th century preached more and converted more than JWs have. Additionally, you can't just work to bring about the fulfilment of a prophecy and then say, "see, it's come true."
