Crazy this happened at my moms , freed the starter up to get my truck home and I’m waiting for a starter in the mail just use my car for the time being
Great video! Thank you so much!!! I actually thought my starter was broken, because of your video I realized the batter plug just fell out. Plugged it back in and it started right up!!!
Did this yesterday on my '15 Denali XL. Warning, don't use a screw driver on the ignition wire harness, you'll break it like I did. I had to use some duct tape when I put it back on to assure it won't slide off.
I had same problem. Used exact same starter. After replacing it still wouldn’t turn over. I’m on 4th battery in 2014 gmc. It’s enough to drive you crazy. Georgia weather too so no freezing temps
If the other bolt is out, I would put it back in and make it snug. Then try to remove it. Hopefully it’s not stripped and it’s just being held up from the starter not being aligned
Followed this to the letter and it just spins wont engage engine so im going with the factory replacement. The Duralast one is going back to Autozone :( Great video though thank you.
My 2015 wasn't charging. A mouse chewed through a charging connector. It seems electrical tape is bad for wildlife, so OEM are required to use bio degradable soy based electrical tape. Yeah, mouse food covering all your wires. I got lucky, it chewed the one place that issued an immediate warning before any other wires were snacked on.
This is what my truck recently started to do a few months back. So I plan on just replacing the starter soon. Also had to replace the ignition female clip due to being burnt from sparks.
This must be a 2014 bc the 2015 is super impossible to remove the starter through the opening. There’s just too much stuff in the way. I’m struggling lol
@@FinalBossGarage no way!! I just figured out a faster and easier way. I had to take the header heat shield off and voila! Making a video now after much bleeding and screaming
@@myaudlife4399 your comment just saved my ass, I was under my truck for 3 hours last night, painted my bellhousing and heat shields red with blood and ended up leaving the starter hanging there in the snow. Gonna take the heat shield off today, thanks man!
Thanks for sharing, changed mine in 30 minutes thanks to the video
Awesome man. Im glad to hear it helped!
Just keep turning the key, eventually it will start up.That way you don’t have to pay to get it towed.

Very nice and informative! Appreciate your time in making this.
Awesome!!! Appreciate the detail. That’s the way instructional videos should be done.
Well done!!!!!
you made it look easier than i thought i get to back to work tomorrow!
Ton vidéo m'a vraiment aidé merci quand j'étais vraiment désespéré❤
Just wanted to say thank you!I followed your instructions and you saved me a lot in labor! Great video.
Glad I could help!
Thanks for the video, very helpful, now I wait for a gm starter to arrive , nearest one, Seattle. I'm in Nor California. Unless I want a Cheap-O
Thanks for taking the time to put this together. Very clear concise and informative - well done.
Thanks for this video it helped me trouble shoot and diagnose the starter on my truck
Short and to the point. Thank you!
No problem!

Very good video good job man
Easy on the 5.3. Good thing. Gone through three already on my 2017. Just take out the fender liner. Same for changing spark plugs
I’ve replaced 3 in the last 70k miles. I blame myself for buying shitty autozone but the warranty helps
Mine was keeping the motor off while truck was off key in my hand
Great video. Wish I watched this before getting bent over at the dealer.
Thank you. Glad your truck is fixed now.
very informative!!! wish i had a 1500!!!
If you work hard and eat all your vegetables, anything is possible!
yay, thanks for the vid
Hey I think I have the same
AutoZone replacement starter as you. I cannot seem to get it back in? Any advice ?

Thanks bro!
My wire clip. The red one. Broke off. It wont come off. What do i do lol
Was your red post cable getting hot? I'm experiencing battery drainage pretty bad

Has your truck ran great since? How many problems do you have with this truck?
As long as your engines not seized up its the starter
Thanks!
Thanks got this issue now
Hope it helps.
that’s exactly what happened to mine this morning… I’m not sure what’s wrong w my truck but i’m pretty sure it’s my starter lol
At how many miles did it go out
I could use some help, one of my 13mm bolts wont come out, will spin with my wrench but i cant pry it out... any advise?

Thanks for the video but I wish you would have showed the process of actual fitting in the starter.
Lol it took two hands and I wouldn’t of been able to film it well. Had to try every angle for sure.
Did the starter make any noises for any time before going out? or did it just go out without warning ?
It slowly died over a month. It wouldn't always turn over right away. It also turned really slow.
@@FinalBossGarage thanks for the insight, I had the same slowing-down-over the months deal but ended up being a dying battery.
I assumed battery originally but it tested fine.
This is what my truck recently started to do a few months back. So I plan on just replacing the starter soon. Also had to replace the ignition female clip due to being burnt from sparks.
Why does the Duralast cost so much more than OEM?
I paid 230.00 for a delco From the dealer
Hey how high is that lift? 4.5”? Or 6”??
It’s a 6”
@@FinalBossGarage Nice, thanks! Have you noticed any loss in MPG?
Did the clip ever become an issue??
Just in case if I breaks mines lol

Don't you hate it when shit doesn't go how it's supposed to. It's definitely a 2015. Just try and pivot it a bunch

You should specify this video is for 8cyl. This method is no where near as easy for a 6cyl

Be nice if we could see what you were actually doing without the camera moving all over and hands in the way sorry but this didn't help me
