Omar , you missed out making a coffee in slow motion , walking somewhere unrelated to video in slow motion , putting car keys into car door ( in slow motion ) , buying overpriced bagel ,quick hyperlapse back home , before actually getting to the subject matter at around 7 mins into the video... :-).
ScowlerJase OMG so funny 😂
Doing all that stuff riding a skateboard, would be perfect :p
Your rollig shutter head... This should be new measure standard of rolling shutter for all cameras=D
Hahaha. Iol'd so hard, I woke up my mom.
I'm copyrighting it.... lol...
I don’t even own a Fujifilm atm and still watch your videos.
Watching an Omar video after a harsh tele conference meeting first time in the day..... LIFE CHANGING! You make me laugh so much!!! My day hit the happy level again.
Hey!! Get back to work!! lol
Omar Gonzalez Photography 🥺🤣😂🤣
Clearly OIS is not sufficient to stabilize Omar’s personality
Joel Schafer haha. Noooo
Very unstable... must be a serial clicker...
Always enjoy your videos. Your our go to man for fujifilm knowledge! Thank you!!!!!!
Yyes, my favorite lens for filming myself the 10-24, you don't need to separate your hand much for filming and it have a more silent focusing than others.
Omar, you never disappoint man! I'm curious about the 50 mm f2, but the kit lens actually does look quite decent.
Hey Camera Conspiracies, put your eyes in all this vídeo Fuji glory)
Great info! Which lens would you recommend on the XT-3 for shooting simple talking-head videos on RUclips? I will be using cinematic-style lighting. Here is an example of the type of footage I will shoot: ruclips.net/video/awRm0eGx644/видео.html Thanks!
Watch the video
Did you pick one?
@@Canadianforestfairy I did! I went with the Fujifilm XC 35mm f/2 Lens, and it worked out well for my setup. However, I did move on to the Sony FX30 for better autofocus/features, and now use the Sigma 30mm 1.4. It works great and is also available for the Fuji at a good price!
I never felt motion sickness watching videos XD... Awesome video as always brother.. did you consider the 16-55 f2.8 i just want your thoughts about it compared with the kit lens... Thanks for the video and info 😀
@They Caged Non i thought about that too but when I see weather sealing and low light capability I really consider it a good bang for the buck... I don't have the 18-55 so I thought maybe the 16-55 would be a good idea to get because of the fast light
For me...size is a priority..so that lens is on the DSLR sized dark side, but I'm sure it would be fantastic for video!
You crack me up. Today, I am going to attempt a talking head video on “infinite white” with my new (!) X-T3, so this video was super helpful! Thanks so much for all you do.
best rolling shutter example ever xD
love your way of presenting! keep doing!!!
Awesome video as always man 🥇
awesome video!! i have been really debating on creating a youtube channel so this is been very very helpful info! Now i just need to work out feeling so nervous about actually doing it.
Thanks for the comparison review! We use the Rokinon 12mm and love it for our vlogs, and are now looking at some of your presented options! 'Preciate the work you put into this video bro 🙌
I really enjoy you vids man keep up the good work!
Haha the rolling shutter thing was hilarious, man. You got me laughing.
2:36 Rolling Shutter 🤣🤣🤣🤣 man i love this guy
I like the Octopus hands while vlogging!! So great that you were able to showcase so many types of lenses. Just about to buy my Fuji camera & kit lens next week. Can't wait!
Omar Gonzales and Camera Conspiracy two most hilarious and the most truthful camera channels.
X-T30 is being shipped today. I can't wait to get it. Thanks, Omar for all the advice. You got me to like the smaller camera. Adorama has a deal. If you buy the kit lens with the X -T30 the 35mm f.2 is only $99. That's a total savings of $600. I'm also adding the price drop off the kit lens.
Johnny Dee great choice!!!
LOL!!! Rolling shutter head 2:35

@@ogonzilla I thought that the xt3 has less rolling shutter. Or did you recorded these video on something else? Does the xt30 have the same Rolling shutter as the xt3?
Matej Varga At some point in the video he mentioned that he‘s filming on the X-T2. The X-T3 definitely has less rolling shutter, it‘s in fact one of the better performing cameras when it comes to rolling shutter, better than a lot of competitors. And I‘m sure the X-T30 has the same rolling shutter as the X-T3 because it uses the same exact sensor, processor and firmware.
JUST bought the 35mm. I was debating on which 35mm lens to get next, the F2 or F1.4 and i saw what you had and boom. got it 🤩
Man, you are so fun, and good informative video as well. Subscribed!
Your the best on RUclips Omar, great stuff.
Man you're entertaining af...you're good
Damn...made my day! Hugs.
“You could do all your videos like this...” 😂😆 I’m dying!!!
Great freaking video Omar, hilarious intro!
You win. Subscribed. The rolling shutter swing killed me.
This is so funny man 😆
Recently got the XT4, was having a browse at some lens options
Thank you Mr Omar. You did me a great flavor ;) Appreciate
Enjoyed, you always inform and entertain!
An excellent video! Omar you helped us figuring out what we will actually need. It's difficult to know what focal length you will need when just starting RUclips. And this video helps a lot! I was thinking about purchasing a prime 35mm F2 as a kit lens with XT30, but I have changed my mind and will go for the kit lens (18-55mm). The results from kit lens seem to be pretty good. No need to stuck with fixed focal length while you can get good results with zoom lens. Thanks a lot!
You and James Popsys should do a collab vid 😁
yes👍
Your rolling shutter head at 2:37 had me laughing so hard. I know it’s immature but I was hilarious lol thinking about it makes me want to laugh.
Great thoughts and insight, thanks always enjoy your thoughts and dialogue 👍🏽🎥📸
I love your videos. They simply make my morning with a smile.
I would love to see a video with street photography in very low light comparisons of the fast lenses. Inclusions of candid portrait shooting.
Currently I use my 23 f/2 on my X-T1 which o am finding only just bearable with ISO noise.
Really looking forward to seeing what you can do to help make my decision on the next primes to purchase.
With all the super-heroes keeping you company you have a COOL space!
Debbie Mowry thanks !!
Lol. The hat, the loud music and the color grading. I’ve seen videos all over RUclips like this and I keep thinking the same thing…. Why? You do a fantastic job focusing on improving “our” experience watching your videos and that’s a good thing. 😊
That sarcastic intro made me spit my water out.
Thank you.
This was an amazing video! I want to like this more than once!
Hi Omar, dumb question, but how come you avoid lavalier rustling with all this gymnastics you are doing? I see your shirt all over the lab and no sound, is the trick wearing the dead rat at all times?
Great video!!! Very informative and funny as usual! :)
What’s the best lens to use on a gorillapod or switchpod when vlogging? I was hoping it was the 18-55 but even at 18mm it seemed way too close to my face (using the switchpod anyways) maybe the new 16 2.8 would be wide enough hopefully.
I really like that Rokino. Perfect blend of bokeh and wide angle vibes
Love your videos man, but I was hoping that you will also compare the 18-55 Kit lens wit 16-55 f/2.8 constant aperture pro lens. I am really confused between these two, I don't need stabilization as I will use tripods/slider but I also fine with f/4 on kit lens, as I don't need shallow DOF for my videos, so what I was curious about was whether the 16-55 will have a noticeable improvement in VIDEO on RUclips, because if there won't be a quality difference between the two excluding the aperture, I'd go with the kit lens. I also felt the kit lens was kind of soft in your 55mm shot (notice your eyebrows from 5 inches away from the monitor in comparison to 56mm), and if 16-55 can perform better in video at that focal length, I think it'll be better to buy that instead of investing in a prime lens after getting the kit lens, and raising the price to the same point (as buying the 16-55). There also seems to be a difference in focusing speed, so it'd be great if you could cover that too.
Good one Omar, laughed really hard on this one!
1024 is for video with you as main topic and the environment around, 1855 can do you with a bit environment and the opportunity to focus ok something going on closeby with zoom , like a reporter on the action. 16 1.4 is perfect for solo sitting talking(no ois), 35 not good, 56 too complicated to use as main lens but looks fantastic. I'd go with 1024 as main vlog lens but I don't own it atm.
Loooove your channel just found it!
My 10-24 is coming on Friday. Can’t wait
Oooooooo....Fun lens...
Kit lens at 18 did a very nice job IMO
I think the kit lens does a great job. I dont mind having it as my first lens for some documentary works at all. Plus i can always get a converter first before i jump into the ecosystem.
Thanks again for the video!
Thank you for this comparison! I am a total beginner. Would you recommend the 16 1.4 for someone wanting to do RUclips Video AND Landscape? Wanting to get just one lens to start. Thanks for all the inspiration!
I love your vids. Laughed my ass off, but still a lot content!
Is it "Lenth" or "LenGth"? Thanks Omar. Another great video.
I've finally FOUND IT!! (go to 2:36) So I saw this video back when it aired and I remembered there was a funny clip of Omar's head warping with the rolling shutter and recently I remembered about it when I was trying to explain rolling shutter to someone. Basically, just go to 2:36 😂
10-24 is my goto video lens: quick, silent AF; constant f4; OIS; super sharp
and it plays music (this bit may not be true...)
What custom AF-C settings do you use in this video?
I cannot find a suitable setting to use for this style of video (on tripod, steady, just filming a person sitting e.g.) without the autofocus on my X-T2 hunting a lot.
Or if anyone else has advice regarding this, it would be much appreciated!
Very topical! Did you know Kasey over at Camera Conspiracies was going to ask this exact question today?
NO! So awesome. I even wrote that in his comment section. We got an XT3 board room meeting...yes!!
Omar great video as always!Next month im getting 26 and im balding,i take all these supplements to help but im getting sick of it!Did you try to keep you hair or just let it go?
I did try to keep my hair in my late 20's too. I remember these creams...and chemicals. You get to the point when you buzz it tight, military style...then forget it...shaving. LET it go brother.
@@ogonzilla Thanks for sharing your experience, keep up the great work!
So good! Your videos are awesome!
Hi Omar! I'd like to ask questions though. Just recently bought an XT4. First, What is the best lens that i could use for Broll? Im planning to a video teaser for a barber shop and I'm planning to buy a 35mm f2. I am not sure if its the right lens though. Second, What's the best lens to shoot a dance video?
Hi Omar very helpful video thank you. As a next step can you unlock the mystery of 4k versus 1080 and also the choice of how many frames a second and why??? There seems to be a big split of opinion with many you tubers saying they prefer to shoot in 1080 as easier to edit? So as you can see I know the jargon but that is where video expertise ends. Would really appreciate the help. Also whilst I have my Fuji gear but just bought the little DJI Osmo Pocket. Yes I can hear my wife saying “All the gear but no idea”😂 as I want to supplement my travel photography with a bit of video to bring some of the photo memories to life. Any help is gratefully received and much appreciated. Cheers Steve. Dubai.
My advice is start 1080p and continue with 1080p until you actually feel you need to go 4k. Since I was posting videos showing images and discussing "sharpness" I felt 4k was a necessity. The biggest negative is the hours it takes RUclips to render 4k, so you have to schedule your video as opposed to posting right away. Also...chose with the situation. Are you recording the Canadian Rockies?? Go 4k.... Are you recording your cat?? 1080 is plenty.
Thanks Omar all noted. So last question and promise not to bother you. do I go 1080 at 30 FPS or at 60 fps?
@@stevenchivers5787 I'd say 30fps is the norm. 60fps looks too "real" for my liking. You can see examples of that on some of the the Northrup videos. 24fps gives a more film look. This was shot at 24fps. Most of my vids are 30fps. Part of the fun is experimenting too.. Make a couple of videos and play the files back.
You are a star. I now have a starting point and will experiment. Thanks Omar appreciate your time👍🏻
Geeze.. love your vids! 👌🏽
Very well explained
Think 24mm or 16 mm on crop is the best focal length.. Tho I would like 1.4. Ever tried any Zeiss lenses on Fuji?
So awesome. Thanks bro and good info too.
appreciate it.
Edit: I should watch the whole video before asking questions. Literally two seconds later you flashed XT-2 on the screen. What body did you shoot this with? The follow focus when you had the 56 1.2 on was smooth and accurate.
Henry Maddocks xt2
Excellent video as always...
You forgot to say " what's up RUclips" at the beginning … arrrh ! Great vid as usual mate ..
Hi Omar, when you compared the XF "F2's", do I remember that one 23mm(?) focused a bit slower than the others?
Awesome video! I wanted to ask what lav mic you use? And I assume you use your zoom to record the audio? Thanks
It's a lav sent to me by the Voice Technologies people. They set up pro audio for award shows and things. Link in the description. I also use a $20 cheap JJC from amazon sometimes.
@@ogonzilla Thanks! I guess I should have read the description first
🤣🤣 love that intro OG
Very informative thanks
What about the 16-55mm 2.8?
Great vid, but still hurtsing in the belliezz from rolling shutter-laughter...
I am also still attempting to get to know who you were imitating in the beginning and end...
Hey, lutsa fun in your weekend, Omar !!
Was not prepared for the sudden #rollingshutterhead and nearly had yoghurt up my nose. Great, entertaining video. I don't own a Fuji and still learned something.
I get the colour, cap and soundtrack advice but not sure about this lens stuff, after all, isn’t the music supposed to mask the lens noise at it hunts for focus.
Did you review the 14mm Fuji yet? Looking at one used to sit alongside my 18 55.
Easy! 18-55mm! Ok now lemme watch the video and come back, haha. *edit: Ok I watched the video! I think having f/2.8 on the wide end is a huge plus for the 18-55mm against the 10-24mm!
When you record your RUclips videos do you use film simulations? Or there is a way that you can avoid them? Thanks for doing this video I want to start my RUclips channel and I have the XT3 so I I am not good in videos settings!
Juan Carlos Guzman working on this video. Good timing
@@ogonzilla awesome 👏 I can’t wait
Im thinking of getting either the 16 1.4 or the 10 24 but i might wait a few weeks till i check the new 16 f2 out
You probably already mentioned this on a previous video, but what’s the lab mic you use?
Hi! Is XT20 good for video? Or it’s better to look for another camera? Can you make the video on how your process of color grading is going on?
If you want to keep in that same budget level and stick with Fuji, the X-T30 is being released (I think today) and has the same processor and sensor as X-T3 and does 4k 30frames and a bunch of other good specs.
@@Honkus Thank you for the answer. But I already have XT20 and don't think XT30 is worth changing XT20 for it. I'm looking at Sony a7III and I know that it's another league. But the main question is can XT20 record ready good video for youtube? I'm not good at videography and for now I'm not satisfied with the quality that my XT20 with kit lens 18-55 mm. That why I'm asking other guys that can help.
The video quality is fantastic! Microphone 2.5mm jack is a pain sometimes, but the on board mic is pretty great.....I'm actually looking forward to the XT30 for 4k face detection for video. No flipout screen stinks. And color grading?? lol...that was a joke. I shoot straight out of camera colors on both my Canon and Fuji. This was shot in standard Provia. Here's a video shot on AUTO on the Xt20.... ruclips.net/video/LbqbDr_uPrY/видео.html
@@ogonzilla Yes, I watched all your videos) But I'm afraid of bad quality in the low light conditions.
Денис Соловей low light not so great.
Omar, where does the other door lead to?
A magical place called Narnia...
Which is the other? lol 😆 one is a closet the other to the room
Omar Gonzalez Photography Closet? That would depend if one is coming out the closet or going onto it...
=*)
Perfect :D
Can you use manual focus lens for walking vlog?? Like samyang 14mm.
Love your videos, LOL at 1:26.
Haha this was so awesome. Super helpful too
PSA: Watching the video and drinking milk at the same time...not a good move ... cleanup aisle three. LOL
Omar you like the Jim Carrey of camera world.😂😂😂
Please do some vintage lenses like the Helios!
Lol... U are awesome as always, good job bro 😂👍
the 35mm has insane focus breathing which find quite annoying for video
I think with your style, you'd like the new 8-16mm 2.8 lens..
The beginning was so funny haha👍
This is great... so informative and so hilarious. C'mon Fuji... Omar needs to be your spokeperson... like seriously!
2:35 I spilled my coffee :D
Omar, did you pre order 16 f2? :)
