woodturning - Hard wood log into a bowl !!
- I started activities to regenerate trees that were cut for various reasons.
All logs I use are scrap wood.
There are times when we cut a lot, but please be assured that we collect wood debris and give it to reclaimers.
This log is so dense and hard that it is used as a wooden sword in Japan.
Years after cutting, it was difficult to process, but the bark was very clean.
natural edge bowl
I hope you'll watch it to the end!

Thank you!! I'm very happy to hear that!!✨
Good morning. Every time I find videos to you that I haven't seen yet. You get to amaze every time. You really do wonderful things. It calms me down a lot and since I'm a super stressed person it makes me feel great. That's also why I'm saying a big thank you. I saw on TV that you have a lot of snow. The images are really impressive. I hope you and your people are not too affected by these bad weather. In a few days will be Christmas. If by chance I no longer have time to write to you, I wish you a very 🎅 Merry Christmas. Take good care of yourself and yours. Gabriel (France).
Thank you for your comment as always!!🙇🇯🇵
I will change the theme in the future. I want to make a relaxing video. In the new video I released last night, I slowed it down and relaxed.
Stay safe and have a happy day!! Merry Christmas!
Positively a wonderful specimen for your first 2020 woodturning piece!
Thank you!! Laura Tompson!
I'm very glad to hear that!!✨✨

Great RELAXATION while watching your work with wood.
The high value of your work is in the continuity of the sensed process, consideration of the process and implementation with possible repairs. Even the look and shapes of "waste"/wood chips(?).🙃sawdust of wood(?)🙂/ is extremely creative. . THANK YOU VERY MUCH🏆🌿🇸🇰
Thanks for your comment! I am so glad to hear that! !🙏 I am happy because I spend a lot of time on production, shooting and editing! Thanks for watching this!✨✨🇯🇵

I like watching you work.a beautiful piece. Well done!!
Thank you so much!!!👏✨🇯🇵
I turned a bowl that looked the same shape as this, except it was an Ash crotch section, it was the hardest piece of wood I've ever spun, the knots were like granite!
"Ash" is a very hard wood!
Previously, I made grooves with a trimmer, but the blade burned and I sharpened it many times.
Is using a harder tool such as "Thompson" effective?
It's a very hard work for an amateur like me. so beautiful.
Thank you very much!✨🇯🇵
I'm also studying, but at first I think it's better to turn from a soft and originally round tree!
Wow what a bowl
very nicely done thankyou
Thank you very much!! From Japan🙏🇯🇵
Have a nice day!!
Very nice work.
Thank you!!
I'm very happy to hear that!!✨
WONDERFULL
Thank you very much!!🙏
This wood is beautiful!
Thank you very much!!!
Realy nice bowl, love the shape and the finish, John
Thank you!!
It may not be noticed in the video, but it was very hard and I sharpened the blade many times.
The result is a very beautiful dense grain! Thanks for watching! !
Beatiful..good job
Thank you!! I'm very happy✨
Incredible.......................
The hardest tree I have turned. It's hard to make it round with a band saw. Sawdust was recycled into building materials.🙇🇯🇵
Cool 😎
Thank you!!✨✨
Wow. Those tools are sharp
Thank you for your comment! In the future, I'm planning a video about my sharpening, so please come back if you like!💡
Klasse,,,👍
Cool
Thank you very much!!!
Lindo trabalho e linda madeira parabéns.
Obrigada Estou muito feliz em ouvir isso!✨
Beautiful bowl!
Thank you!!
I struggled with very hard wood, but the finish is very beautiful!
Now, it is one of the hard-to-find logs.
yamabiko1220 All you’re work is Awesome! I have got to get a chisel like the one you are using mine is similar but the angle isn’t quite right, I did a turning yesterday hoping to get it on RUclips tomorrow!
In some comments, notes were noted about the work. But I will do my best to make the audience more interesting! Let's not hurt each other!
That is pretty.
Thank you!!✨✨
Muito bom trabalho
Obrigada Estou tão feliz em ouvir isso!

Veramente molto bravo
Mille Grazie!!🙏✨
You do it fantastic. Cheers
Thank you!! I'm very happy!!✨
I am so happy to have your wonderful channel.
well done thanks bm

Very nice bowl sir, I really do like a natural edge finish....but what oils do you use? 🇪🇸
Thanks for your comment!
Very happy! I painted the wood with penetrating paint and oil.
We apply colorless paints for longer use and apply oil to the glazing.
Looking at it all, my thought was born. Isn’t it easier to give such dimensional blanks the shape of a cylinder using a band saw, or at least an octahedron using a chain saw. After all, the shock load on the chisel is crazy.
As another option, use a powerful hand milling cutter with a simple cylindrical cutter, rigidly fixed in the mechanism, which moves along the workpiece along the bed.
And already on a cylindrical workpiece to perform fine art work.
👌👌👌👌
Thank you very much!!!🙏🙏
Linda tigela.
Beautiful Bowl.
Thank you for your comment!!
I'm happy to hear that!✨✨
Thats really beautiful😲

Nice bowl. Also a nice lamp do you use on the tool rest . Did you made this lamp by yourself?
Thank you for your comment! This light was purchased at a Japanese store called “nakajimawoodturningstudio”. It seems that overseas shipping and payment can be done with PayPal or credit card. I thought about making my own, but I bought it because it cost about $ 27. The community also sends out such information, so please subscribe and check if you like!

Beautiful bowl. What kind of finish you used? is it laquer?
Thank you!!✨
Permeable paint conforming to the Food Sanitation Law! The color is colorless because it is colorless.
The lacquer looks dark brown, but it takes time.
Show👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾🇧🇷🇧🇷
Thank you!!✨✨✨🇯🇵🇯🇵

What is the product you use to treat the wood after you sand? Great vid as always!
Thanks for your comment!
It is a hardening material that penetrates "Kigatame Ace" in Japanese products.
It hardens in response to the moisture of the tree and strengthens the tree!
That’s is some good looking wood. What kind is it if you don’t mind me asking.
Thank you !!
This is a loquat tree! It is very dense and hard, so it is used in Japan to make wooden swords.
I just noticed how quiet your lathe is ... and saw you work in a small hut ... ca you tell us what kind of lathe you have? ... and is the metal frame special? Or does it come with the Lathe?
Respectfully, Chuck
Thanks for your comment!
I have a video about the lathe I use.
In my case, my budget is limited, so I upgrade little by little.
The lathe stand was made by welding on my own.
Work space is very small!
Please see from the following link.
ruclips.net/video/QUam7CXU1SE/видео.html
You even make a vase from a plate!
Thanks for your comment!
In the future, I will study various methods!🙏
How much did the lathe cost? I really want one now, looks like so much fun
I bought this model for $ 540!
However, a $ 850 upgrade model is definitely recommended!
Have a similar piece.
I was surprised! This wood is so hard that it is used in Japan as a material for wooden swords.
I could pay a lot of money for a such pot.
Thank you so much!!
Currently studying for sales!🇯🇵
Hard wood Log
Is that a 14" lathe you are using?
My lathe is 12 inches💡
Recently, I'm worried about strength because I often turn large objects. . .
Wearing gloves is not safe on a lathe, seems counter intuitive but trust me...
Thanks for your comment! Basically, it is accurate not to wear gloves for safety!
from which country do you come?
Thanks for your comment! I am Japan! However, since the language is studying, there may be many mistakes.
It's time for a bigger lathe.
Thanks for your comment!
A large lathe is just the ideal!
But now I am paying for this lathe and I'm doing my best ...
Someday, I want to play wood more effectively on a large lathe🙏🙏
Thanks for your comment!
I painted the wood with penetrating paint!
We apply colorless paints for longer use and apply oil to the glazing.

What kind of wood is this?
It is a loquat tree!🎄
Because it is a very hard tree, it is used as a wooden sword in Japan.
@@YamabikoWoodArt Here in the USA we have hard wood like beech and maple. Speaking of maple right now its maple tapping season for harvesting maple sap to make maple syrup
@@apismellifera1000 Thank you for your reply!
There is also a Japanese maple in Japan, but is it different from American ones?
In my video there are some maple videos.
Loquat was even harder when shaved.
It is still on hand, but hesitates a little. . .
@@YamabikoWoodArt Do you folks have maples that you can tap for making maple syrup? The one we have in the USA is Sugar Maple and it goes by other names. big leaf maple. rock maple, and hard maple. I once turned a beautiful bowl from a sugar maple burl
Why he repeatadly switches on and off the chainsaw while touching the wood ?? Did'nt understand electric Tool and chainsaw. Terrible!
No tumb up! He should trim ⊙ the log before turning. And: Made a nice vase !
Thanks for your comment!
The reason to turn the chain on / off is the noise problem!
I'm wood turning in an extremely small hut in the corner of my house, so I don't want to make too much noise.
Also, the bark of a very dry tree was coming off, so I had to spindle it little by little.
I don't have a band saw, so this is my best ... I will study more!
Loquat? He’s turning loquat?
Thanks for your comment! Loquat!🎄
