    Would changing my thermostat help with my overheating problem?

    • @luckylucciani8534
      @luckylucciani8534 2 года назад

      Yes unless your head gasket is blown that is a good place to start

      @@luckylucciani8534 yea I changed my thermostat and also the radiator cooling fan needed to be replaced too.

      Yes, once the thermostat reaches a certain temperature it opens and allows hot coolant into the radiator in order to allow more cooling into the engine. A faulty thermostat won’t open when it should thus causing the engine to run with less coolant than it needs

    It looks green, is that type two coolant?

    So with the thermostat and hoses off can you pour distilled water via where the top hose goes and do a flush of the system?

    never drain the radiator for a thermostat

      You're an idiot. That's how you're suppose to do it correctly.

      @@bryhut17 draining the radiator merely creates another issue, not solving the one you have

      Asher Craig this is the most idiotic thing I’ve ever heard. How do you expect to change the thermostat? Pull the hose off and let coolant go everywhere?
      Please tell me how. I would love to know

      I didn’t drain the system and not much came out

      It looks like you could just loosen that upper hose clamp for a few minutes to drain some and see cause the thermo part is up top not down below
