    Great video. That looks like an EX with the Vtech. Side note. Most thermostats come with the bleeder hole Fe the manufacturer now which eliminates the need to worry about air trapped in the system. Another old school trick is to put a small bleeder hole in the thermostat yourself with a tiny drill bit.

      I think it’s an lx with out vtec I think cause it doesn’t say it on the engine cover and the headers are different

    I have a question do you have to drain the coolant?

    • @NutzAboutBolts
      @NutzAboutBolts  3 года назад

      If coolant is still clean, drain it in a clean pan. Removing the thermostat will drain out a lot of coolant since the fluid is coming from the block.

    On a 2002 civic the radiator fan only turns on when the the ac is on. What could cause this problem? Any help is greatly appreciated

    how does replacing this benefit your car? like what are the reasons someone would replace their thermostat

    • @NutzAboutBolts
      @NutzAboutBolts  3 года назад +3

      It’s a preventive maintenance since the thermostats can go bad and causing the engine to overheat due to the thermostat malfunctioning.

    • @andrewm.4168
      @andrewm.4168 Год назад

      Don't replace it unless its stuck closed (overheating) or stuck open (engine running cold)

    Why I have to drain the radiator? Can I do it with out drain it?

    • @NutzAboutBolts
      @NutzAboutBolts  Год назад

      You can, but when you remove the thermostat, coolant will gush out a lot and it’ll spray everywhere. That’s why we drain it by the radiator so that when we remove the thermostat, what’s left of the coolant in the block will drain out and won’t cause a mess.
