    Wanna ask you, I have a 2011 Honda Insight hybrid I noticed the air vents get really hot with hot air coming out even with cool weather and the ac/heat off. No light came on but I checked the coolant reservoir and it’s close to the bottom line . I’m worried the overheated system might damage other parts since the vents are super hot even just touching them seems not normal to me. I bought the car at 104k miles now has 134k. Do I need a coolant flush? Do you recommend also changing fan switch and thermostat? Anything from the expert would help thank you

      Well air comming through went Disney mean it’s gonna over heat. If u want to do anything to keep it up to date replace the thermostat and coolant flush would be a good start

    Hey Ralph Bob The Mechanic!, was going to ask you, is it best to replace the water pump as well? And if you do replace the water pump?, well hell!, just do the timing chain too! And would that be best?

    • @RBTheMechanic
      @RBTheMechanic  2 года назад

      Yeah I would change the pump and timing belt and crank seal in there knock it all out

      @@pedrog5846 that means car prolly was over heating with thermostat and they remove it to keep it nice and cool so if u replace it u might need to figure that over heating out and be aware of it

    While everyone car is overheating my friend’s car is running too cold. 🤣
    We changed the thermostat, both water sensors, flush coolant and even replaced the radiator hoses but it didn’t fix the problem.
    No help on this on RUclips…Any suggestions?

      Running too cold!!! What temperature thermostat did he put it? Also did U notice if fans run all times??

    • @LouisSolano-lr3xl
      @LouisSolano-lr3xl 11 месяцев назад +1

      Usually from what I've been told if the engine is running cold it's usually the thermostat is in an open position at all time or the Temperature sensor is defective and it's giving a false reading telling the vehicle that it needs to cool the engine all the detail time. But most of the time the thermostat is stuck in the open position which allows coolant to run unabated so your going to have a cool running engine which messes up a number of things including your gas mileage. I remember once guys engine was running cold all the time we checked it out turned out he didn't even have a thermostat in the vehicle.he was fortunate it was moderate temperature outside. So in your situation I'd check the thermostat and the temperature sensor. If those things do not fix the issue it may very well be a computer situation or some electrical issue. Like the man said see if both fans are running extensively without ceasing... good luck

    • @RBTheMechanic
      @RBTheMechanic  10 месяцев назад

      Dose the car over heat because fans will only come on when it’s needed but when u out ac on they come on immediately

      Maybe the connector is faulty. This happened to me actually connector pins became loose and moved back not making contact with the radiator fan switch pins.

      Connector itself may be faulty. Sometimes the pins becomes loose and not making contact.
