The Sims move onto land in the middle of an industrial worksite and then are dismayed when they discover that they are living in an industrial worksite.
I pictured Karla randomly entering into my house, taking and selling my stuff, going around upgrading things while giving me a pep talk about why eco lifestyle is better and slightly threatening me to sign whatever she wants me to
But I probably wouldn't be so mad XD
I like Eco lifestyle but i wish it didnt take forever to clean it up 😭😭

@@KaramoonsageIt’s not very realistic, I can’t go over my friend’s house and upgrade their toilets. Nor can one person transform a whole neighborhood under their own will. I can’t hit the edit button and throw solar panels on someone else’s roof. i can in Sims.
I anticipate a lot of house fires in this towns future

EA should’ve named eco lifestyle “eco living” instead because it would’ve went with island and city living lol
What helped me was all of the houses having eco wallpaper and flooring (if you look through them you’ll see the footprint percentages) as well as solar panels, wind turbines, dew collectors, and a recycling machine at every lot.
The wallpaper and flooring help a lot! there are a lot of industrial ones that really hold you back when you're trying to turn the lots green. I think there are also solar panel roofs (or more like their shingles?) and having trash everywhere also has a negative impact on the footprint. Plants don't all have green footprints, funny enough, I thikn it's mostly the trees, not the sculpted bushes or the tiny plants?
I found when I was turning EH to eco that once the Port Promise initiatives were complete (2 of them I believe) that the area stayed green after that. You just have to enact those 2 rejuvenation efforts at the main city board. I did also go around and fix the neighbors homes adding a lot of plants (which seemed to be the fastest/best way to go green) and fixing the walls/floors to an eco(green not industrial) swatch instead of industrial. I didn't bother upgrading the neighbors stuff I think just getting rid of all that industrial metal on the houses was a huge fix.
I have port promise as green and I've never gone to anyone house and upgraded anything. I just vote on the different issues. I did move to each neighborhood and get each one green. I think once each neighborhood is green the whole area stays that way. You just have to vote to get each of the different community areas.
Be careful that toilet will sometimes catch on fire.😂

I pretty much got Eco lifestyle for the solar panels and stuff which I use almost exclusively in Henford on Bagley and Sulani where I think folks would naturally rely on solar panels and wind turbines. Not really a big fan of eco lifestyle besides all the new tools it provided for living off-grid.

Imagine your a sim just living your life and a random sim comes into your house and upgrades your stuff without you asking them to come in or even put that stuff there, and worst of all they take your music away 😞

Hi whiny brit. I realise you like to use the phone even for travelling home. Pressing M works too. They're wee bit quicker than clicking the home on your sim icon which I always do, considering they would travel immediately instead of walking to the very end of the map before actually going home, but I also hate the loading times to get to the map to travel. If only it was as seamless as Sims 3, then maybe I would've used it.

Your wallpaper and flooring may have “green” or “industrial” effects. Also use the solar rooftop shingles instead of just the solar charging panels. Use the lot traits that came with the pack to help keep the lot green.
Don’t leave any walls as “drywall” or floor as “construction quality concrete.” It makes the lot cost a little more but if green is the intent…

I caught it, too, but I thought the correction was for the benefit of American viewers since "bits and bobs" is UK slang meaning small objects.

I don't know if Karla has played Second Life or not, but "bits and bobs" isn't necessarily a reference to Second Life.
"Bits and bobs" is a very old phrase that's basically the equivalent of "odds and ends." The phrase existed long before the internet, much less Second Life. It may be a more common phrase in the UK than it is elsewhere in the world, but I've definitely read it and heard it in the US despite never having been on Second Life.
If the correction was for American viewers ( and I'm thinking it was) IMO there is no need to do that. After all, if we are going to be one diverse world why pander to the Americans? It would do them good to realize that they are NOT the only English speaking country lol!
I live in Canada 🇨🇦 so am kind of in the middle. Here we use both British and American expressions. Just depends on who you are I guess. I was born in California, but my mother grew up in the UK. In the middle indeed. 😂

If you plan on doing another episode of this. Try going to build mode getting the sledgehammer and taking the cement away from your lot. And adding more trees and bushes that will help

I love the eco pack but I alway found it really frustrating that you need like 20 water collectors and 50 soloarpanels to live only off your own power. Just makes your lot so cluttered

It took me months to get most of my worlds green and I was rewarded with green glare so bad I couldn't see to play anymore and had to get EA to take it out of my game to play again! I payed for it and of course they did not give me my money back. Eco Life is seriously broken! Probably why your game crashed! Thank you for sharing
