I have this monitor and you have to turn off the variable refresh rate and HDR in order to run 4k uhd at 120hz in order to play Warzone. If you don't, you will get flicker in and out and at times will force transfer your HDMI to the one you are not using. I've played with all the options and turning off these settings will save you the headache. BTW I'm running it on my series X not S.
So I am about to get into the Series X testing this week. I will put this to the test and see if there are any other work arounds. But I appreciate the input, I will keep an eye out for that issue.
@@BainCustom hello yes pls let me know because I just want to make sure I'm not the only one having this issue. I dont think any of the HDMI ports are different either. I know some that are dedicated for gaming.
Monitor is good for gaming at 4K 120hz with good response times. It is a different story when it comes to gaming at 4K 60hz on this monitor. Gaming at 4K 60hz is not good at all because of input lag and ghosting. A lot of console games at the moment don’t run at 4K 120hz so here’s something to think about before you purchase. If your using a PC then you should be good to go. I was able to compare the M28u with my old monitor which is an Hp Omen 27i which has better response times at 4K 60hz on my Xbox Series X and PS5.
My guess is that the pixel response rate is not as good at 4k 60hz, which in turn impacts the feel of input lag and allows for more motion blur. I am about to test this out more this week though, ill let you know how it goes.
What games are you playing at 60hz? A lot of Xbox games suffer from input lag issues at 60hz. It’s possibly a console level issue rather than a monitor issue
I can't activate 4k and 120hz, I have the m28u and an Xbox series x, when I activate 4k then activate 120hz, it automatically switches to 1440p to be able to have 120hz.. . I can't find the problem, I hope I was clear. THANKS !
I will for sure when it comes in on Friday hopefully earlier. I’m upgrading from a lg ultragear 4K 60- 1440p 120. And had a replacement plan on my lg so I really only paid under 300 for the M28U. So I’m really happy.
I would say a tinny sound is semi normal. If it's different than that it may be an issue. But I always think it's best to use an external speaker or headphones. The sound is much much better.
Can anyone help me i got the gigabyte m28u monitor today and the monitor itself when i connect to ps5 stays at 60 hz. I checked all my ps5 settings and looks good but i cannot for life of me find out how to change the actual monitor to 120 hz. I have a 2.1 hdmi cable as well.
I have probably 4 other videos on the channel about it. ruclips.net/video/GTwqt2-UqgQ/видео.html ruclips.net/video/Q1w3oGzOkfk/видео.html Here are two. I am sure you can find some good answer between the 3. The 60hz question...it really depends on the game and your settings. Each game will react differently.
Are you asking if it is a huge deal? Are you using the series s? Because if so, I would say it's not a GIANT deal for 1440p and 1080p 120hz would be a good way to go. But this monitor is 4k, so this would work pretty good too.
unfortunately not, but tbh, ALLM is mostly for TV's with massive input lag. So it really doesn't need it. If you're using a wireless controller for xbox, your input lag is already worse than the monitor is capable of.
@@BainCustom I believe halo is the only game right now on X box that offers 4k / 120 FPS. Looking forward to trying it on my gigabyte M32U. Does this monitor improve the texture and distance operator tracking especially for series s at 4K 120 fps I am sick of seeing pixelated operators at distance at 1440p ..At 120 fps
Guys wrong post i know but I want to ask something. I have bought the M28u last month. Thanks For posting the video! I got mine the other day, but it doesn't allow me to choose VRR on my Xbox. do you know what settings on the monitor would allow me to do that? also maybe just best settings for apex and BF?
I don't think there's a massive difference. There is a noticeable difference, but it's fairly small. For me comparing something like the GP83 from LG to this gigabyte monitor, I noticed an increase in detail and clarity. But I wouldn't say it's night and day.
It hasn't been an issue for me. That complaint might be related to contrast, but still it's been solid for me when I consider the cost vs other monitors.

How do I change these settings?

Hey I would really appreciate if you can make a video calibrating this particular monitor

it works just fine at 60hz. probably using the wrong overdrive mode
Any update on this?
Is that bad playing at 60hz?
What games are you playing at 60hz? A lot of Xbox games suffer from input lag issues at 60hz. It’s possibly a console level issue rather than a monitor issue
Do you have a recommended setting guide or something for this monitor? There’s so many overdrive settings
I am not sure I did post a video on that. But I do have my settings listed in either this video or the main PC review video.
Can you do a video over the 170hz M27Q?

You gotta have HDMI 2.1 ultra high speed cable
@@Rasisti the cable is included with the screen...
And it is 2.1
I ordered mine like 3 days ago before it sold out at my local Best Buy. Super excited going to run my series x on it when it comes on Friday!

Pleas do more content with monitors and the series S please! Subbed. Not enough love for console gamers
I couldnt agree with you more. I have another one coming soon and a few more monitors planned after that. Thanks for the sub for sure!
Does it have auto low latency mode
It doesn't. But it's probably not required, monitors have a good input lag compared to TV's.

Sounds like an issue with that dp connection. Probably a bad connection on the monitor if nothing else does that for you.

That makes sense. 32 inches at 4k would be nice. What's games do you play?
