I have both the M28U and the M32U. Both are decent all-round monitors in my opinion. The main problem is that HDR is pretty bad on most IPS monitors unless they are mini-LED. So I don't even bother using HDR on either monitor. I use both for gaming and they are both pretty good, especially for games that don't require a high refresh rate (>144 Hz). The pixel density on the M28U is very high which gives a very crisp image. From what I've read online, the M28U and M27U perform quite similarly, other than the M27U has a higher refresh rate and faster response time. But I don't think the difference is that considerable. My main gripe is that there aren't any 4K monitors with refresh rates higher than 160 Hz, unless you are buying an OLED monitor. But they don't suit my use case as I do a lot of productivity with my PC and there are issues with burn-in, etc.

How is the performance of this monitor for ps5? This review was done with pc games. One reviewer said that on ps5, at 60hz, with vrr enabled, there is very distracting flickering. Is this true?
It's a strong all-rounder hence my clear recommendation - pcmonitors.info/articles/best-gaming-monitors/. The LG is signifcantly slower and has worse colour output, but stronger contrast. Generall people would prefer the Gigabyte for gaming in particular as it's a better all-round performer.
This is covered in the review. 'G-SYNC Compatible' works absolutely fine. They didn't pay for certification for it, they went the FreeSync route for certification. Makes no difference to the experience.

Adam Imagine you have 2 identical monitors but one has 1000:1 contrast and the other has 2000:1 can you tell the difference in modestly- lit room? and does it feel as the double the difference in terms of contrast?
In a moderately bright room, you will only notice a slight if any difference. Even more extreme differences (like an OLED) are less apparent in moderately bright conditions than the numbers would suggest, though it also depends on lighting position and interaction with the screen surface.
They're both good, but I feel the M27U has an edge because the M28U has higher overshoot at lower refresh rates, which are common for console gaming. The M27U is better tuned for lower refresh rates with has better overdrive flexibility.

That's why I don't recommend ergonomically correct viewing position when gaming, to avoid glow on LCD monitors.😝

Can I use nvidia gsync with this monitor? Is there any negative effects for doing so? Amazon only shows freesync.

Both excellent monitors and entirely depends on your own size preference really.
M27u does not support full bandwidth and m32u does?
Neither does, but you're very unlikely to notice this limitation in practice.
