Check out the Asus PG32UQX or the Viewsonic version which is very similar, almost the same. Very expensive though compared to the G7 but is clearly a much higher quality. Monitors Unboxed reviewed both the Asus and Samsung and said the Samsung was better.....how did he come to that conclusion (makes me question his reviews now, how could you not mention the awful black crush? on the G7 and local dimming weirdness, low brightness HDR, etc...)? Maybe he received an early sample, they have a newer revision i've heard which looks amazing! The Asus/Viewsonic is clearly the better of the two, appears nothing has beaten it since for an LCD. Check out Solace In Scrutiny video comparison of the Samsung G7/8 vs Asus UQX, it's clear the Asus is better by alot! The AOC looks good on paper but only released in China I think?......I found a Chinese review of it, it seems like a contender.
@MentalCrusader Mine is the 42-inch. I game close. Most games are great, but I found in a game like Call of Duty i was too close, so i changed the aspect ratio for that game to 21:9. This makes it look like the same size of a standard ultrawide monitor 33 inch. Being oled, the pixels are turned off, so not just black glowing bars like a Ips panels. I gained an advantage in the game being ultrawide and less pressure on my gpu as not rendering the pixels on top and bottom and looks better than my old ips ultrawide monitor. I sometimes do other games in ultrawide if they support it. More emersive.
Considering how much they hyped the G85SB, i can honestly say that that the G80SD is better in every way, having both monitors side by side. All the hicups the G85SB had are gone with G80SD. And if you like that the monitor has smart features, the i can say it works much better with 16:9 4k.

Now with black week here in Norway, the Samsung Odyssey G8 goes for $900 USD, Dell Alienware AW3225QF goes for $1100 USD and the Asus ROG Swift PG32UCDM goes for $1300 USD. The alienware is not on sale like the other two. I have an AMD 7900 XTX GPU and an AMD Ryzen 7800x3D CPU. It is the cheapest option so it seems worth it but I am still on the fence. There are not other 32" 4k OLED monitors than those here other than the LG UltraGear 32GS95UE but that costs $1600 USD and is not on sale atm
As a fellow Norwegian I'm tempted to just get a LG C4 42" TV in a new gaming setup. 9500 nkr/~$900 usd during the Black Week now it seems. Not perfect for gaming but I've been quite happy with my C2 in a similar setup the last 1-2 years (not much of an upgrade - but the C2 will go to a pure TV function). I use the TV wall mounted to get the appropriate distance (Ikea Desk), and just use movable monitor arms (wall mounted) with 27" ips monitors for other stuff on each side of the 42".

Nice. I've have had mine since launch and it blows every every monitor I've had away. Love it. HDR looks spectacular on such a high def / pixel dense panel and colours really pop. The matte screen for me is basically perfect with basically no reflections or grain and still retains sharpness. The remote and Tizen are just the icing on the cake. It does benefit from a bit of tweaking and calibration as out of the box settings are a bit oversaturated, but otherwise this'll be my endgame until it dies or unless 4K 32" Micro-LED's become a thing and affordable just like OLED's are these days.
Bought for 395 euros in germany, there is no alternative for that price, absolutely no BLB, very good colors, well it has glow, like all matte 32 inch IPS devices, completely satisfied with it for months.
I went with a 4K TV and having a wall handy for mounting made my "monitor" upgrade choices easier. Hisense 55U8G 120hz HDMI 2.1. It's several model years old now, but $700 including the wall mount kit made it a lot cheaper than OLED or LCD 32" monitors at my time of purchase.
It would be nice to see a comparison of the Firmwares. Like, I remember Acer monitos having some dealbreaker firmware for their monitors. Would be interesting to see which brand has also the best firmware. IIRC, Acer firmware didn't switch automatically to HDR, you have to manually set the monitor to HDR everysingle time, and revert back to SDR.
I've got the MAG 321UP, love it for games and color. Not super happy with how text looks, but I've found some scaling and font adjustments make a good difference.
I'm thinking about buying one of these today but need to work on it through the day as well and I live on excel and powerbi, do you think the text issues make this a nonstarter?
I’m still more than happy with my Cooler Master 27” 4K HDR GP27U (FALD) monitor and has a vg price and is great (imho) for both SDR and HDR gaming and a very bright screen and it’s “up to 160hz mode” for both gaming and production needs 😇🥰💪👍🥳

Hey, I am a big fan of the monitor unboxed sub channel. Can I suggest that you do a video on big screens replacing multiple smaller ones? For example the LG C2 42" OLED or similar, because it's effectively cheaper than most OLED Monitors, but there are no real reviews when using these LG TVs as PC Monitors. I think there is much to explore here and makes for good content. And it's not just if it's a viable options, you could explore things like how to manage the 4K desktop with FancyZones to practically emulate multiple screens on the 4K with a 1440p window mode game on one side and smaller discord and youtube windows on the other.
can you also recomend a few decent monitors as your second/third monitor (you get your expensive main monitor and then pair it with cheaper non oled monitors where discord and chrome sit al day? with no burrn in risk?)
@@MrKarco, yeah, but that's what he could help us with, like what has the best features for relatively cheap? For example, good viewing angles would be really good for a second monitor, but it also should have decent colors so that if you are watching RUclips, it still looks okay.
The thing that pisses me off is the quality of the firmware in monitors. I’ve got the Alienware oled ultrawide with the latest firmware installed. It still has really weird behaviour. It turns off randomly after startup. Sometimes it just colour cycles the led and doesn’t display anything. Every time it requires the plug pulled, wait 10-15s then plug in again. It’s incredibly annoying
I LOVE how 4K looks at 27", and who ever says that the difference isn't that big because your PPI is already way above 100 with just 1440p is completely wrong, but my problem with 4K monitors is that the ones that have 144Hz or more are really hard to find. I'm looking for a new monitor, and I wanted a 4K one now that I have a 4080. Because DLSS exists, I also wanted a high refresh experience playing at high and using frame generation, but... like I said, they're really hard to find. At least good ones, and there's a lot more to monitors than just resolution and refresh rate.
@themarketgardener Lol, the monitor I'm waiting to buy is a 1440p Mini-LED from Xiaomi (I think it was called G Pro 27i or something like that). I heard about the blooming issue and how to deal with it. I can't wait!

Three years old, but seems to have the right balance of features and is not insanely overpriced in my region relative to the US. Would like an OLED, but need to do work on it more than gaming, so IPS seems better. Would also like to see the moustache to come back.
I have a 48 inch and will be going with either a 32 inch or upcoming 34 ultrawide. The PPI is very noticeable. I would guess even for the 42 inch. I am going to leave my 48 for movie watching in the background/second screen.
Great video as always Tim! I bought the Dell Alienware AW3225QF and its amazing in all aspects. I mainly game on my home PC so the curve is perfect for me. The Asus being £500+ in the UK is just a rip off for the same QD Panel. I bought mine day one for £900 and i believe they have been as cheap as £830 with discounts. I just bought an Alienware 32 " 4k OLED, coming from a 38" ultrawide 144 hz IPS. Alienware was significantly less expensive than the other options. The increased pixel density and OLED picture quality is really good. I was apprehensive that I was buying into the OLED hype. It is not hype. I am surprised by how much I can see the upgrade.
I purchased the Dell a while back when you reviewed it on another "Best Monitor" content. It was about $1300+ at the time, and went down drastically, shortly after purchase. Lol! Luck of the draw I guess. I'm more than happy with it. I got the 32" mainly because I'm kinda losing my eyesight. Age! I may be mistaken, but I was thinking that a 32" would be easier to read/watch than one at 27". I haven't found anything on that aspect yet, though!
I'd be really interested in some gaming experience comparisons between the HDR experience of these top 4k monitors and the 42" and 48" OLED TV offerings, specifically for desktop pc gaming. Does it matter that we can get higher refresh rates on 4k monitors when the pc hardware is nowhere near 240 fps at 4k support when the OLED TV's are targeting 144hz in some cases with rumored higher on new models in the works? I currently have a 35" ultrawide 1440p at 100hz on an IPS panel, I want to upgrade, but I feel like I'm missing something about the closing gap between TVs and monitors for pc gaming, what do I lose or gain going one way or the other.
If it wasn't for that hyper aggressive 1000R curve I'd have bought a Odyssey neo g7 by now. Anything tighter than 1500R is too much, and 1800R is preferable in the 32"-39" monitor bracket.

The local dimming is damn near perfect, OOTB accuracy and the brightness insane! It just doesn't have the fastest panel but seems fine for most.
Check out Solace In Scrutiny video comparison of the Samsung G7/8 vs Asus UQX, it's clear the Asus is better by alot! The AOC looks good on paper but only released in China I think?......I found a Chinese review of it, it seems like a contender.
Philips Evnia 32M2N6800MW is another VA panel option with the same panel as the AOC I think!
I enjoy my LG C4 Oled 4k 144 hz with great Hdr and good sound and dolby vision when not gaming.
This is better than all the dedicated monitors. By far
@@joeyr184 can vouch for the 42 C4, best purchase I've ever made
How close are you to it when gaming?
@@joeyr184 That's what I'm trying to decide, whether to go ultra-wide or just have a huge 16:9 screen
@Monitors Unboxed Hey Tim, why there is no review of Samsung Oled G8 G80SD? You said in September that you will review it.
Considering how much they hyped the G85SB, i can honestly say that that the G80SD is better in every way, having both monitors side by side. All the hicups the G85SB had are gone with G80SD. And if you like that the monitor has smart features, the i can say it works much better with 16:9 4k.

No mini led monitors?
try Innocn 32m2v 32 inch mini LED 4K monitor.. I've been using it for a year now and it's HDR is out of this world.. Local dimming works too with HDMI 2.1 and USB type C support
The acer nitro xv275 is great. Newer firmware updates have resolved most of the software issues. For 650 euro it was a steal compared to the 1k euro oleds.
Yeah, I would love for them to review some of the Innocn, Acer, and KTC offerings. As it stands, mini led seems to be best middle ground for someone doing a mix of productivity and gaming.
How is the black crush on the 32m2v? Im tempted by this monitor.
OLED monitors are eWaste waiting to happen?
You are the GOD of monitor recommendations and reviews. Objective data is used in your conclusions and that commands my utmost respect.
For high-end non-OLED people, why not recommend the 32" Neo G8 instead of G7? What about the Asus PG32UQXR?
I think a lot of the software issues with the acer nitro xv275 have been resolved with firmware updates, bit unfair to just dismiss it like that.
I’ll be comparing this monitor with my 32 inch oled on my channel. Let’s see if the Acer issues has been resolved.
I like the curved screen on the AW, very immersive, also one of the least expensive ones.
Yes 1k not expensive lmao
@@kerkertrandov459 One of the least expensive = not as expensive as other high-end oleds

ABL and APL is another concern. How aggressive are these?
It would be nice if you guys would highlight the issues with the QD oled coating and being almost impossible to clean without damaging it.
G80sd including smart tv fuctions, best design and by far lowest price, is the reason i chose it
I recently bought a Neo G7 and it really is a game changer. HDR looks amazing, and being HDMI 2.1 supporting VRR and all the other bells and whistles it makes a great panel to connect a PS5 or PS5 Pro to. I paid $600 for mine.
I love mine!
I had mine for two years. Want something new but don’t want to go Oled. Might just get the 8 for cheap
@@lepuke6854 I might go for a 27 inch 1440p OLED next time. I'm interested in that glossy screen Asus!

Not been disappointed just like I haven't been with my Alienware DWF 34inch.
Please do an office/gaming or office monitor buying guide.
Agreed. While I love OLED, I'm getting tired of OLED being the ONLY things that are really recommended anymore.

Had mine since launch, amazing monitor.
Bought for 395 euros in germany, there is no alternative for that price, absolutely no BLB, very good colors, well it has glow, like all matte 32 inch IPS devices, completely satisfied with it for months.
I hope they bring out some 27 oled 240hz monitors . 32 inch is way to big for fps games on a desk setting for me
What about 57" TCL CSOT, 32:9, 7680 x 2160, HVA panel, with more than 11000+ local dimming zones ? There is not much information about this monitor.
Are you going to test the new Sony Inzone Monitors refreshes? Specifically the Inzone M9 ii
Why is there no LCD at 32" 4K that is not curved at 240hz? Is it that hard to manufacture?

The samsung is overrated as fuck, 32 inch and qd-oled is a terrible combo
@@kerkertrandov459 no it's not. Glossy QD-Oleds are overrated because they have a cheap plasting coating that scratches even if you breathe near them and your eyes hurt after 2 hours of gaming. The thing that pisses me off is the quality of the firmware in monitors.
I’ve got the Alienware oled ultrawide with the latest firmware installed.

Great video as always Tim! I bought the Dell Alienware AW3225QF and its amazing in all aspects. I mainly game on my home PC so the curve is perfect for me. I returned my Neo G8 for the same reason. The curve is too aggressive and the VA panel has pretty poor viewing angles, unless you are staring right at the panel.
Because the viewing angles are awful, I returned it for an IPS that was half the price.
How are viewing angles awful? Don't you sit directly in front of the monitor? I couldn't sacrifice VA black levels for IPS greys.

I just bought an Alienware 32 " 4k OLED, coming from a 38" ultrawide 144 hz IPS. Alienware was significantly less expensive than the other options. I haven't found anything on that aspect yet, though!
no 4k ultrawides?
HDR is always trash, leave it off, never use it.
