Well if it was actually your house. In this case the houses legally belong to Israelis and the people living in them refuse to pay rent as they are legally required to do. So, if you were a renter and didn´t pay rent guess what--- you would find yourself in the street and that is where you deserve to be. So, get the facts straight so you won´t seem to be so ignorant when you vomit out someone else´s propaganda.

In Israel, Israeli Arabs have the same rights as Israeli Jews. They study in the same school system and are treated as equals to all other Israelis in the same hospitals. Israeli Arabs vote, are elected to the Knesset, and have become Supreme Court justices. Israeli Knesset (parliament) have 14 Arab MKs from six different parties, and the presence in the government coalition of Ra’am, a Muslim Arab party, making its leader Mansour Abbas one of the most influential politicians in Israel. Israel within the 1967 Green Line is a society where the Arab minority are citizens with voting rights, who play a full role in society and use the same universities, hospitals, parks, beaches and shops as their Jewish counterparts. Israeli Arabs enjoy the same privilege as other Israelis to study for academic degrees at Israeli universities of their choice. Palestinians who live in east Jerusalem also enjoy this privilege, despite not being Israeli citizens. Buses and trains are open to all; they do not have signs saying “Jews only” or “Arabs only” to separate commuters, as was the case in South Africa. There are over 2000000 Palestinians living in Israel with Israeli citizenship. They hold positions in parliament, in hospitals, schools, police, industry, and have a quality of life that they would never have in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon or Egypt...However, no Jew can walk down the streets of Ramallah, Jenin, Jericho, Nablus, or Hebron without being stabbed in less than 5 minutes.

Jason, Respectfully you don’t know anything about me and my “origins”. You are misconstruing my comment and if that’s what floats your boat then so be it.
I have many, many friends who are Palestian’s of all ages and they have told me that they would be better off without Hamas and without the PLO however they realize they need some type of leadership. My ultimate advice to my young adult friends from Gaza is that it is up to them to lead their nation to freedom and equal rights by getting involved in the political process. I know it’s easier said than done but it’s still worth a shot.
And I’m not gonna go any further with my reply to you but rest assured that as a political science major in college I’m very aware of Palestine and the struggles every generation has experienced since the Nakba of 1948. Anyways just don’t ever start a note to me by telling me “you have no right” cuz actually I do have that very right. And the only one who should be humiliated is you because you are really barking up the wrong tree when you come at me with accusations of being ignorant to the plight of the Palestinian people. And I don’t consider the Hamas rockets to be any kind of real defense against the occupiers multi ton bombs or the white phosphorus Israel has experimented with on the citizens of Palestine or the 20 hours a day that the Gazans are left in the dark or the rationing of disgusting water that is not even fit for wild animals to drink or the use of skunk water on the peaceful protests of Palestian’s facing evictions from their West Bank homes so that the dregs of society can come settle a land that was settled years ago by the Indigenous Semitic Palestians. No I just don’t see the Hamas cherry bombs being equated to the occupiers bombs.
If I have “no right” then either do you!

Tlaib has received the endorsement of Foreign Policy for America, a political action committee that backs sanctions on Russia, the US "commitment to NATO" and other policies favored by Democratic elites. Foreign Policy for America calls for arms sales to Saudi Arabia to be conditional "on steps to prevent civilian casualties and alleviate humanitarian suffering in Yemen." That is a laudable view, but the group makes no similar call regarding Israel--the biggest recipient of US military aid.

Enjoy this while it lasts because it won't last long. Mehdi is too objective for NBC. We need to be very careful. What is the "Jewish nation". Israel is one thing. The government is something else. Jewish people are yet another thing. Some support the government. Many do not. It is so important to be precise in our language. We criticize the occupation. The settler-collonial system. The government. The military. The cultural and media operatives who provide political and social cover for what is being done. The grievance is not with anyone who simply happens to be Jewish.

I grew up in the north side of Chicago and began high school at Sullivan High in 1951. Sullivan had a 93% Jewish population and the Jewish kids wouldn't have anything to do with us at all. As Gentiles, they wouldn't talk with us or smile at us in class or in the hallways. After two years, I couldn't stand it any longer. A friend of mine, whose parents were born in Greece, learned there was a teacher at Amundsen High who taught Greek language classes. My friend wrote a letter and had her mother sign it so she could transfer to Amundsen. I scouted out the Amundsen neighborhood and found a vacant lot, and then faked information saying that we had moved there, so I could transfer to the school and enroll in the Greek classes taught by Mr. Lamprinedes. Amundsen was much farther away, so we had to take the elevated train from Howard Street to Berwyn and then transfer to a bus that went to Damen Avenue. The next two years were great! I did get caught by the school for faking the address, but I begged and pleaded with them to allow me to stay, and the officials at Amundsen agreed that I could continue through graduation in 1955. Years later, the Jewish families began purchasing homes in the Chicago suburbs such as Skokie or Highland Park.

But this is progress, as is the fact that Hasan now has his own show. The RUclips left that dunks on MSNBC is part of our new media embarrassment of riches, and part internal sniping. Hasan's show seems to be calibrated to take some of the steam out of this anti-cable media critique. Regardless, all of if this is a promising sign that the left is finally clawing its way through the layers of shit that neoliberalism buried it under.

I, and seven families were evicted in Israel by force, from our homes of 50 years, after an illegitimate court ruling.
We fought in the courts, social media, and mainstream media, and lost.
If I would retaliate, I would lose everything else.
The homes were built by the british, for their officers & engineers and abandoned in 1948. We moved in by 1967 and paid every relevant authority for whatever taxes they would accept.
In 2017, after the forced eviction,
We did not get any compensation, rather, we were sued by the state for millions in retroactive taxes & fines.
The homes that weren't demolished are vacant to this day and serve no purpose.
The Sheikh Jarach, as far as I know, might be a llegitimate ruling,
But the decision to go forward with this eviction is plain stupid.
The legitimacy of the eviction is irrelevant to those being evicted, and if my own community of 30 people emboldened each other to fight for our home, then, a community of hundreds would reatliate very strongly.
This government is the worst Israel ever had, with congressional right wingers that were banned by the courts in the past, when their rhetoric was more blatant and not supported by any major politicians.
Netanyahu divided this nation between left/right, keeps losing everyone accept his base and now is utterly dependent on a measly 2 congressional right wingers for power.
These new PM's are the ones who pushed for this idiotic move, and led the way by moving their law firm office into the neighborhood.
If the Sheikh Jarach ruling is truly illegitimate (the law serves an agenda, international law included, so there are always counter arguements to make) then it's a real case of apartheid.
In other cases, such as tragic Gaza & east Jerusalem (generally) there is no apartheid.
If you want to pin a negative word for any of these situations, do it.
Apartheid is not the only option you have, and it's far from the best match.

Thank you, Rashida. You are truly among the best and brightest that humanity has to offer. You lead with your empathy, and your moral and spiritual clarity shines through your words, and gives them real power. The American government, and Western democracies in general, have willingly, or in some cases unwillingly, forfeited the moral authority to be able to credibly urge other countries to stop stifling free speech and the free press, including protests, to respect the human rights that MUST be equally granted to all citizens of the Earth, and to create democratic systems of government in which all people have a say in what their governments do, and who represents them. And this is truly heartbreaking to say, but we have simply lost the plot. We as Americans have sat idly by while greedy and inhumane corporations and plutocrats have taken over our government, and likewise while neocons and neoliberals have lied us into war after war, bombing country after country, dropping drone strikes on innocent families, funding and supplying weapons to the most anti-democratic and brutal authoritarian regimes in the world like the Saudis, so they scratch our government's back while we stay silent or do propaganda _denying_ the genocides & war crimes they're commiting against innocent civilians, and not to mention, this is all happening while our own democracy is being hacked away at by racist white nationalists without retaliation by our duly elected Democratic-controlled federal government, while our leaders carry water to protect a system in which the upper chamber of our Congress is so _UTTERLY UNREPRESENTATIVE_ of the wants and needs of the people of our country, that a Senate split 50-50 between Republicans and Democrats means that the 50 Democrats are representing over 40 MILLION MORE Americans than the 50 Republicans.
So I'll repeat again that we simply have no moral authority, and no moral high ground, to be lecturing the rest of the world to stop doing the same things we're doing, and to stop breaking the international laws that we are breaking, or helping others to break. That's the most depressing thing of all in my opinion, and it needs to change. We need to get off our high horse and start LIVING UP TO THE IDEALS THAT WE SAY WE'RE FOR. Otherwise, there's no hope for us.
