@Victoria Steeley - it already is illegal. Any doctor who gives steroids for non medical reasons can lose their licenses. If police are on steroids, their on them illegally...same with everyone.

It's a ballsy question. Not progressive enough for y'all? What miracles were you expecting? Does he have that cooperative enough of Senate and House to be delivering even more "progressive" legislation? You might adjust expectations just a bit.
In light of what he has now done, if you look back on everything he did since he accepted the nomination, you get start to get a sense of this long game Biden has carefully laid out. He gathered the people to his team, he listened, he keeps his head down, does the work, under promises, over delivers, and plays it all close to the vest. I didn't expect much more than less harm out of Biden but I'm on board if he stays on this trajectory.

This excellent congresswoman makes an eloquent statement for the govt to invest in the needs of the most in need. If a country's people are cared for, society as a whole will benefit. There will be healthier people, kids that fluorish in school and in their homes, more mental and social services, less homelessness, a resultant lowering of the crime rate, more jobs for individuals who are able to work and tgerefore will be able to spend more on their families. It's a no brainer. How to pay? Use FDRs formula. Tac the rich.

Good talk. Progressives sure know how to deliver a speech sometimes. I do see some hesitancy there in congratulating Biden. Progressives tend to be as biased against center-left policies as the republicans sometimes. Nothing wrong with their policies but this very apparent reluctance to give praise where praise is due, even if it's a little to the center for you sometimes plays against them making them come across as less graceful, biased, grudging, self-absorbed and abstract. in other words, not a the most progressive look. It is a bit ironical and a reality check that they need to still contend with. Considering the current world situation, this administration has been doing a remarkable job and it wouldn't kill the farther left factions to sometimes properly admit it. 2021 is not the the best year for armchair academic arguments and essay-like manner of speech heavy on the citations and bit light on the substance.
How did this beautiful young lady got the name Ayanna, not coming from the far corner of the world Somalis come from. Ayan and Ayanle are the old superstitions B4 we adopted Islam but now the words are understood as lucky( Ayan the famininine and Ayanle masculine). Amazing how small the world is really is.

Creating jobs through new technologies like renewable energy would not only lower the unemployment, give healthcare and a pension, (reducing the burden on safety nets) but for the right wingers it would show who does and who doesn’t want to work. The right are always yelling about “welfare queens”. If everyone is guaranteed a job that would end. If the right are against it they are hypocrites.
The cost would definitely be offset by the payroll taxes and improved infrastructure.
I don’t like the slogan “defund the police”. I understand what it means. I agree with the proposal it demands. But the slogan doesn’t take into consideration the lazy thinking of most Americans. Change the slogan. Don’t expect people to take the time to research something just because you refuse to change your Slogan to something that is what it says and requires no research. An ad campaign doesn’t expect potential buyers to decipher the meaning of their slogans. The same goes for Black Lives Matter. The right are using that as a way to say BLM is saying only Black Lives Matter. It’s obviously stupid, but could have been avoided by simply saying Black Lives Matter TOO.
Whoever is making up these slogans isn’t trying to get their point clearly and unassailably across, they seem to be only interested in making the slogan fit neatly on a protest sign.
