Not sure why, but when I went to add my VIN, it said my VIN was for a 2016 JK Wrangler 😂 I think I just died! Still couldn't program my key fobs, going to have to get my mechanic to do it for me, but got a good laugh in this morning, either way lol.

After you clicked on Immo keys, how did you get the GM section there? I just got mine, plugged it in, hit "read VIN", but for whatever reason (and I'm not even sure how this is possible), the VIN it comes back with is not correct?
Could you use this same tool to program key fobs for different types of cars
I have a more expensive Altel Scan Tool and was wondering how to do it. I've never used it to try a do this.
I've used the bricks and it's a very similar process. This is just WAY cheaper. ;)

Thanx for the Video. The Autel MaxiAP AP200 in no longer available on Amazon ,(Bummer). I just got a new to me 2007 Cobalt LT with only 1 Key and no fob. Is there anyway to tell if the car has factory RKE (with / without car start). I want to get some fobs but not sure if I need 3/4/5 Button. Thx for any pointers.
bought a reprogrammer for my 2009 Chevy cobalt LT and after I programmed a fob to it, my engine light came on. I ran the code reader and got a p0700 code and u0073 code. This makes no sense why it came on right after I did this but it’s been fine. I only have 89k miles. Any help/ideas why please?

So I got the AP200 after watching your Video.
I have a new to my daughter 2007 Chevy Cobalt LT. It only came with 1 key and no remotes. I'm just waiting on an adapter for my key machine so I can originate a new key for her.
I also got two remotes from CLK Supplies which is a supplier to locksmiths.
I followed along with your video (did not get VSES question). I was able to erase the two previously programed remotes, but it did not program any new remotes. I waited over a minute each try. Tried with the engine running, and not running. Found the key did need to be in the on position or I would get a receiver out of range error.
Any idea why it would not work for me?
hi Gumby, did you ever figure this out? I am about to do this on a customer car but I have the autel IM508 which is made for keys specially. Just curious how it turned out
@@pouncerminned863 I did get it to work, but I got two generic fobs off Amazon. I think with the IM508 you'll be fine. That's one of the ones @locksny uses all the time.

@@pouncerminned863 I sent the two Ilco fobs to locksny, hate to see them go to waste and he helped me out with a latch for a simplex lock
I followed your advice and did this and the AP200 unit appears to have killed my battery. Is there a process to exit the software and have it cut off its connection to the computer? Does the light need to turn from blue to green before I can pull the device out of the port? Also, the device got stuck in the port and I had to pull really hard to get it out and I was worried I would damage the port. Any advice for that? I'm really hesitant to even plug this back into the port, but if I don't I fear the battery will just keep draining. Please help asap! Thank you.

Just looked at my package for my remotes (RKE-GM-4B16) says it needs an "Advance Diagnostics" device (brand) to program. Where did you get your Fobs? Thx.

will it do the key as well ?
I have not tried the VATS programming but my guess is it will work with this setup. If you are not aware of the "GM 30-minute reprogramming", check that out also. No programmer or known-good key required.
I did not see an option to do a key in the hot functions, just fobs. I have seen other videos on all.keys lost and adding keys using the 3 x 10 mins.
Do I need any remote started in my car
The same procedure should work regardless of whether or not your car has the keyfob with remote start.

Can that machine only do keys and not radios
It can reprogram the VATS system to add/remove keys as well as programming key fobs. If you're asking about the lockout code on factory stereos/radios, I don't believe it can do that.

Did you license the GM module? Autel makes you pay per manufacturer for the extended options.
