    Glad I seen this video. I rotated my tires and have the same problem with my 2008 Cobalt. I need to cancel the appointment at the dealership since I learned that this is not covered under warranty. Thank you..

    I change the tires from another cobalt and when I tryed to relearn the TPMS I could not access the tire learn option from the steering wheel either. My car is a 09 cobalt LT, so I did the procedure that armyveteran1000 sugest for the 08's and it worked.
    Thanks to all of you I save myself a trip to de dealer. Good video!!!!

    All Good, I could not access the tire learn from the steering wheel since I had a keyless remote.. On 2008 Cobalt models you need to activate the learn mode for the TPMS with the keyless remote by turning on the ignition to RUN, without starting and pressing the LOCK and UNLOCK for 5 seconds at the same time. After the car beeps your ready to go tire to tire. THANK YOU..

    This was great. Very detailed and thorough with minimal bs. I have a problem with my Cobalt's temperature sensor bouncing around temperatures from 150 and upwards of 220 and then not reading at all. I replaced the sensor and the wire to the sensor. Any ideas? Not a big deal until it's 90 degrees outside and my AC shuts off because my car thinks it's overheating...

    • @RedValkyrie
      @RedValkyrie Год назад

      Have you checked the actual thermostat? Mine was doing something similar and when I checked the thermostat itself the inner o-ring was completely disintegrated causing my AC to not work and the coolant temp to not read. Simple fix though depending on your hose clamp, may result in excessive swearing lol

    Did this last year after we got new tires. Easy and instructions were in the manual.
    Today's problem is more difficult.
    All 4 tires pressure readings are "--" .
    Worked fine until the last time I started the car. Google research so far has me thinking a tire pressure module that receives the signals from each wheel has lost programming or failed. Battery has seemed a little weak during cold weather start ups but still starts car. Maybe low voltage problem? Some say it needs dealer computer diagnostic equipment to reset programming if new tp signal reciever module is required or just needs reprogrammed because of low voltage after battery replacement. Could get expensive for a 2008 just for this feature. Still a good solid car with 140k miles but do we really need all the extra maintenance for these things.
    Just went out to find the original Delco battery still in car, that's good quality on this one, and checked the readings again on tire pressure. To my pleasant surprise the damn things working again. LoL
    Lots of nagging issues with this car,
    Speakers come and go and door chime, turn signal sound play through the left front speaker only when it works. Intermittent air bag warning, daytime running lights quit working, etc. Worst problem so far is both lower control arm bushings needing replacement. Those lasted the life of the car back in the day.
    Most generally starts and gets us down the road but it has its annoying little things that can be a nuisance.
    Think I will start shopping for a new battery. Lol

    @bradlee2010 If you have a key fob you can also depress the lock and unlock buttons on it to activate the learn, im guessing only the base cobalts could access through the menu because our 08 LT doesn't have it on the menu either

      @@chrisrice7543 I honestly didn't look at the instrument cluster when I started the process with the fob. I just followed the flashing corner lights on the car to tell me which tire I should be releasing/adding air to for it to register.

    so your sensor broke, too, when they were changing it. I got 2 new tires on my chevy cobalt 2008 yesterday and when I got up today the psi on one of them was 10. Took the car back to sears and they said that the problem was in the sensors and when they tried to take them off, they both broke? Does that sound right??

  • @ClickClack_Bam

    This didn't work for me.
    I get the beeps.
    Get the turn signal light on at the driver's side front wheel.
    Then it won't learn that wheel & eventually beeps twice & then no other lights turn on etc .
    The dash info switches back to the regular panel.
    Did this 3 times & got the same results...
    Does this mean my front driver's side pressure monitor is broken?

    Worked perfectly on my daughters 2008. The guy at Walmart said it couldn't be done without a key fob. I pointed to the manual locks and hand crank windows and said " does not require one." SMH

    Just bought this car used.
    Never before had to deal with a TPMS or any other dash text notification.
    So I have a simple question about it.
    I had a 37% oil indicator. I placed two quarts in and reset the dash. Now it says 100%. Is that normal or will it still say 100% even if I had drained the oil out before hand?

    • @draginator6
      @draginator6 7 лет назад +1

      SEspider I hope you have learned this in the mean time, but that oil percentage was how used it was, not how much there was. Adding oil was not good for it as these cars already take 5 quarts. You reset it after you change your oil to say it was changed and reset it's useful life percentage.

    I have a 2008 the exact same car though no key fob but I can't get the horn to beep when I put it in tire learn mode I've tried several times I have the common defect though that my turn signal won't terminate on its own I have to manually turn it off so I wonder if that has something to do with it not working because the turn signals activate with that mode do you have any thoughts on that maybe I should just replace the turn signal and try it that again

      Same issues. I ended up buying a key fob online and having an auto locksmith program it in order to relearn the TPMS. I was told the key fob is the only way to go.

    I have an 08 g5 and when my battery died I had to redo the censor. Also it made it to where my key fob no longer works. Anyways I took my key fob off my keyring and sometimes when I get out of my car it will lock itself and it even makes the horn go off to confirm it's locked

    • @nestorrocks117
      @nestorrocks117 6 лет назад +1

      Jeff Deleon the drain tube is clogged you go under your car from the engine compartment close to where your passenger side is and you're going to be a little tube just there near the engine wall with a wire go in there and unclog it, it would also work better if you have a air compressor so you could shoot air in the tube and it immediately unclog it
