I don't understand why on Earth to pay nearly 900 quid for this one when you can get similar size and more capable Lumix gx80 for example for half the price.
XE series has always been a good choice to carry with when taking a casual walk, portable and most importantly, the direct output with film simulation requires almost no post, very important for some casual shooting.
@@ninodjuras I wish I still had my xe-1 ☹️ That cameras sensor is special in a way that hasn’t been replicated on any of their newer models. I sold mine out for a newer one without even considering for a second I wouldn’t like the look of the pictures as much.
I just bought a used X-E2S and a manual focus 23mm f1.8 lens, and am having a ball shooting with this kit. The older X-E’s have more buttons than the X-E3/4 and was one of the reasons why I bought it. I also paid a lot less for my X-E2S than a new camera and lens, too!
@@Poverello2001 I’d don’t have a strong attachment to my buttons so as long as it has the needed stuff on the dials then I’m good. However I’m not a huge fan of touchscreens on cameras so it’s a 50/50 for me.
In order to step up from my X-M1 I bought the X-T3 with a XF 16-80 three weeks ago. The contender was the X-S10. I traded the small form factor against a bigger EVF and watersealing. X-E series was on my whishlist but felt outdated. I am happy with my choice so far but I can see that Ill miss a small travel camera which I can take with me on my motorcycle trips. I like what I am seeing from Fuji. Give Sony some run for their money.
Just bought a used xpro2 and upon seeing this I don’t feel any sort of buyer’s remorse or envy (regarding price point) - just another smart addition to the X Series, and the XE4 is great way to bring more & more photogs into the Fuji community 😎 great video, man!

Dang man you’re almost to 1M! I can’t wait to see your review in the 100s...but I think this will become my walk around camera when I don’t want to carry the R6
why no flash like the X100** or the X-E2s which I have and i use it for party's photography where the phones sucks with their LED mini pseudo flash. (sorry for bad english)
thanks bro for the opportunity to have my very first professional camera, to start photography.. one of your BIG Fans from Matampay, Marawi City, Philippines!! God bless you bro..
Actually entered in the giveaway for once; nice that it only required you to visit a page. Compared to most that ask you to follow a page...and 30 others as well. My digital cameras I use are still an Olympus em10 mk2 and Pentax Q7 for the always in my bag camera. To be fair I shoot film for the serious/big shots so they're more for fun and to be shutter-happy when out. I know it's a bit pointless to shoot film since the negatives get digitized anyway but I love using my bulkier medium format cameras and even my little 35mm Kodak or medium format Super Ikonta IV rangefinders.
Since you noted that it's from Fujifilm NA, I guess the contest will be exclusive to Canada, U.S. and / or nearby territories. Regardless, always enjoy seeing a review from you. All the best and cheers.
I wanted a X-E3 with a flip screen, fine. But why did they steal three buttons and a dial?! I'm very disappointed. I really was on the fence of buying it. :(
Are you NOT saying that the new pancake 27 has an aperture ring? As having the ex3 I can not see myself upgrading body (it would be to an latest-gen xt sensor in that case).
Tx for the snappy review! Enjoyed it! Happy, that Omar directed me to you! Would fit perfectly in my small hands in my tiny but great Belgium! If I don't win, I will start saving... Otherwise I will give the 300 Euros I already saved for the new 27 mm to charity.
Kinda miss an ISO dial or the Xpro solution for this. Anyways a great little camera, definitely more interested in this than the x100v. The new 27 2.8 looks super sexy too.
You already have camera in your smartphone for this purpose. So if you are an average photography enjoyer so phone camera is pretty enough for you. If you want more quality to your photos and take this a bit more serious you will buy something better than this X-E4, something like S-H1 or X-T30 with 16-55mm kit lens. Fuji make such cameras only as designer toy or just a toy for people who want to have stylish vintage looking camera they don't care much about photos itself. And it is not bad, that is how the whole photo industry transforms.
I totally agree, have been looking at X100V and then the XE4 gets in the way. But this has interchangeable lenses, but not the leaf shutter. Otherwise it has a lot going for it. Will the XE4 win?
@@Officerbibble I couldn't decide either and ended up buying the XE4. I enjoyed using it over the last 6 month, but now I'm returning it and buying a X100V. I think the XE4 is great if you already own fuji lenses or plan on using old manual lenses, but I realized I want something that I can carry everyday and everywhere with a great lens on it. The 27mm that I currently have on my XE4 is great, but not quite fast enough for portraits of friends in my opinion. And if I buy the 23mm f2 the camera gets bigger again...
So this is kinda one of those cameras that you will love after a bad experience with a6000 and 80d or more likely it is 1 in 1 like the x-pro2 and its wheels that lasted 7 months
i love my xe3 but they screwed this one up. no mcs toggle, no bump on the back where the q button was, no bump on the front to hold onto, no rear dial... this is just fuji further trying to separate low end from high end by removing useful shit. which i would be fine with if they didn't polarize everyone with the xpro3. i love the form of the xe3 and xpro3 as the xt4s and similar are too bulky for me, and was really hoping the xe4 would be an xe3 with a moving screen but no such luck. no interest in the xe4 at all now.
I agree - very few reviewers are mentioning that it now only has one control dial, and that you need to pay extra to buy front and rear grips - I like small cameras, don’t like add on grips much and am happy with the handling of my X-E3, but totally flat grip areas like the X-E4 has as standard feel quite precarious to me. Also, a thing that Fuji does apparently randomly has happened to it, which I find awkward (not everyone will of course) - the joystick is mounted too low for me to feel fully at ease reaching it.
Omg, xe series is back!!! They said it was dead, bur it's back!! I love this camera, still sporting the xe-1, but the ability to shoot with both eyes open makes a great street photography camera!!
It may not have the flashiest of specs and looks. But it perfectly fits the role of a great daily camera to enjoy photography on with a side of some video shooting. 💙
