I don't understand why on Earth to pay nearly 900 quid for this one when you can get similar size and more capable Lumix gx80 for example for half the price.
@@ninodjuras I wish I still had my xe-1 ☹️ That cameras sensor is special in a way that hasn’t been replicated on any of their newer models. I sold mine out for a newer one without even considering for a second I wouldn’t like the look of the pictures as much.
XE series has always been a good choice to carry with when taking a casual walk, portable and most importantly, the direct output with film simulation requires almost no post, very important for some casual shooting.
I just bought a used X-E2S and a manual focus 23mm f1.8 lens, and am having a ball shooting with this kit. The older X-E’s have more buttons than the X-E3/4 and was one of the reasons why I bought it. I also paid a lot less for my X-E2S than a new camera and lens, too!
@@Poverello2001 I’d don’t have a strong attachment to my buttons so as long as it has the needed stuff on the dials then I’m good. However I’m not a huge fan of touchscreens on cameras so it’s a 50/50 for me.
Samuel L. Streetlife gave us permission to watch your review, so here we are ;) Thanks for confirming that the finish matches the X100V...! Gotta get that subscriber count up another 104k!
In order to step up from my X-M1 I bought the X-T3 with a XF 16-80 three weeks ago. The contender was the X-S10. I traded the small form factor against a bigger EVF and watersealing. X-E series was on my whishlist but felt outdated. I am happy with my choice so far but I can see that Ill miss a small travel camera which I can take with me on my motorcycle trips. I like what I am seeing from Fuji. Give Sony some run for their money.
Just bought a used xpro2 and upon seeing this I don’t feel any sort of buyer’s remorse or envy (regarding price point) - just another smart addition to the X Series, and the XE4 is great way to bring more & more photogs into the Fuji community 😎 great video, man!
thanks bro for the opportunity to have my very first professional camera, to start photography.. one of your BIG Fans from Matampay, Marawi City, Philippines!! God bless you bro..
You already have camera in your smartphone for this purpose. So if you are an average photography enjoyer so phone camera is pretty enough for you. If you want more quality to your photos and take this a bit more serious you will buy something better than this X-E4, something like S-H1 or X-T30 with 16-55mm kit lens. Fuji make such cameras only as designer toy or just a toy for people who want to have stylish vintage looking camera they don't care much about photos itself. And it is not bad, that is how the whole photo industry transforms.
Wait, you are the guy from that airsoft store right? Was it red wolf? I always loved your content back in the day. Now I'm into cameras and here you are! Awesome!
Your reviews are complete and objective, among the best! How important do you think sensor stabilization is to shoot better videos? I have to choose between X-E4 and X-S10.
I have to admit, I wasnt expecting that voice and accent to come out of that face. haha lovely video and thank you for the insights! very keen on this camera series so I'm more encited than ever to pick this up. 😁
Dang man you’re almost to 1M! I can’t wait to see your review in the 100s...but I think this will become my walk around camera when I don’t want to carry the R6
Omg, xe series is back!!! They said it was dead, bur it's back!! I love this camera, still sporting the xe-1, but the ability to shoot with both eyes open makes a great street photography camera!!
It may not have the flashiest of specs and looks. But it perfectly fits the role of a great daily camera to enjoy photography on with a side of some video shooting. 💙
Tx for the snappy review! Enjoyed it! Happy, that Omar directed me to you! Would fit perfectly in my small hands in my tiny but great Belgium! If I don't win, I will start saving... Otherwise I will give the 300 Euros I already saved for the new 27 mm to charity.
@@cast4597 having shot Nikon for something like 12 years I wanted something lighter. I followed Strobist and this learnt about the X-100 series, and later the other cameras. I thought I'd wait a bit since the mirror less was just beginning to expand. I did. Shot Nikon some more, but for x-100t to see if I liked it, and to get that leaf shutter. I loved it. So next I switched the main camera to X-E3 with 56mm f/1.2. perfect match for portraits. I love Fuji skin tones. The simulations are a great addition.
@saint cast the x-e3 is still a capable camera with a back command dial like every other camera on world except the xe4 if you want to upgrade to the new sensor though i would suggest an xt30 for a small camera or an xt3 since the price has come down
Kinda miss an ISO dial or the Xpro solution for this. Anyways a great little camera, definitely more interested in this than the x100v. The new 27 2.8 looks super sexy too.
I totally agree, have been looking at X100V and then the XE4 gets in the way. But this has interchangeable lenses, but not the leaf shutter. Otherwise it has a lot going for it. Will the XE4 win?
@@Officerbibble I couldn't decide either and ended up buying the XE4. I enjoyed using it over the last 6 month, but now I'm returning it and buying a X100V. I think the XE4 is great if you already own fuji lenses or plan on using old manual lenses, but I realized I want something that I can carry everyday and everywhere with a great lens on it. The 27mm that I currently have on my XE4 is great, but not quite fast enough for portraits of friends in my opinion. And if I buy the 23mm f2 the camera gets bigger again...
Nice vid, been watching you since digital rev. I’m a Sony shooter but am looking to get into a fuji film system. Thanks for the info, i haven’t heard much about this one.
Question: does increasing the shutter count slow it down? Asking since it’s a giveaway you felt it was important enough to mention but does it have to do with it being a mechanical shutter? Jw
Looks really good, but I'm still shooting (and loving) my XE-2. I have noticed the removal of the front switch and the dial on the back - I'd have to try the new model to see if I like that or not, betting that I wouldn't. I think if I replace my current camera, I would have to go with the X-Pro2... maybe.
Since you noted that it's from Fujifilm NA, I guess the contest will be exclusive to Canada, U.S. and / or nearby territories. Regardless, always enjoy seeing a review from you. All the best and cheers.
Great looking camera. I wish you talked a bit more about the build quality. The leatherette looks like a downgrade from the rubber of the xe3 to the slippery stuff of the xt200. And the top, plastic? Aluminium?

I love that we're now in a world where £1,000 is considered a 'cheap' camera!
Yup. While I'm looking on cameras that cost ~500 euros and thinking it's a lot of money. (Have the X-T100)

Price, looks and features are fantastic! Though seems to lack weather sealing vs the X100V?
I'm a simple man, I see a suit-pocket sized camera with gorgeous design and guts and I want it. This 2012 Canon is starting to feel the age.
Love how pocketable it is. Was worried about the lack of any grip at all, but those add-on grips actually look good.
