There you have it! The creative “brain gears” got out the gloves and tongs and pulled the trash from the fire and made it into a treasure! Well done you! Not just clever but humorous to boot! You and l are the same age, 1944 vintage l believe… Wrote a ditty yesterday you may enjoy… “l looked around…. The snow was gone and Spring was here. I looked again…. to my surprise…. the snow was hiding in my mirror.” 😮Not everyone will get it… but think you might! Thanks for another delightful “bit of play”. Be blessed as you bless.🙋🏼‍♀️

Recently I watched a RUclips video of a lady named Heidi doing something that made me think of you. I kept thinking Christine would love this. Christine would love this. What Heidi did was she used a very fine point tacky glue pen to make different size circles. She used her heat tool to set the tacky glue. Then she used gilding flakes on the circles. They were absolutely breathtaking.

I really enjoyed watching how you rescued the panel when it didn’t quite turn out as you’d expected. It was a beautiful result.
I had a bit of a hiccup with gilding flakes the other day. It’s been a bit chilly, so I’d put the heating on. We have reverse cycle aircon, where the air comes through ceiling vents and kicks in every now and again to keep the room at the set temperature. My craft table is under a ceiling vent. Yep. I discovered gilding flakes will cling to more than just glue and silcone😂

You rescued it with that clever frame :) When I have spent time making something that turns out a bit iffy, especially if heat embossed, I cut the piece into narrow strips most of which can look super laid down towards the side of a card or as a border. No one can work out the original design but the texture & colour remain.

This turned out beautifully Chrissie, and actually the depth of the embossing did show up the design well but may have been difficult for you to see under your strong light, and all things are personal choice I know, but with the black it does look much more striking and the glossy finish is perfect. I love that you used just a small portion and is finished brilliantly with the frame, and the added die cut sentiment using some more of the gilded piece with that soft gold base layer looks terrific. x

I've gotten a few colors of Staz-on as I don't want to only have black as a option but it looks like oxides might also work (and maybe even better). I have quite a few embossing folders featuring trees so I'm thinking Fall or Winter cards maybe. Adding the embossing powder made quite a difference. Not sure I would have thought of that.
