I loved the way you burnished the beautiful flakes with the wee sponge. I didn't purchase any because if the waste, then did buy one to experiment myself. Now, with the double sided adhesive I'll have no waste and no need to experiment. It dry embossed beautifully. Thanks for your video which has been so helpful, Christine. 🥰🇨🇦
Thank you so much Christine I really really enjoyed watching you creating this gorgeous and beautiful card. So fantastic and the leaves across, the front, is fabulous and the whole card is really really stunning too. That last panel you made, is also Fantastic and Fabulous, and I’m really really looking forward to seeing what you make with it. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
So I saw gilding flakes in the craft store the other day and said to myself - you don't need those - so now I do. You are such a wonderful enabler Christine :) BTW my husband gave me one of his metal bowls that has a strong magnet in the bottom so that I can keep my dies that I am using safe from getting misplaced when I use them on my craft table. It is normally used to keep screws, nuts and bolts from getting lost - works beautifully with dies!
Thanks, sounds like you’re going to have fun PeggySue, I keep my dies that are in use on a magnetic sheet at the back of my desk. I still lose the ones that are on my mat though! 😁
Fantastic! I already have flakes (Autumn Leaves and red flakes) as well as tons of actual metal leaf...just received double sided adhesive sheets recently. Quick try tells me I can draw out Old English capital letters, cut out w/ exacto knife, place on an ordinary envelope, peel off, apply flakes--comes out w/ sharp, super clean edges and smoother overall finish than using gold sizing w/ a brush! Thanks for showing!
I really enjoy your videos, I love picking up techniques that I haven't seen before. Unlike other cardmakers you enable creativity with ideas rather than complete cards. I always feel inspired to run off to my craft room and try things.
Lovely video Chrissie. Filling the gap whilst you are away. When you stuck the oval die on the card you said you were throwing away the oval shape. Surely not! Ovals are a lovely shape to use on cards, especially if it's embossed. I hardly throw anything away. (No wonder my craft room is so stuffed 😅). Can't wait to have you back from holiday with more videos. 🎉
If I kept everything, there wouldn't be room for me in my craft room and that would defeat the object of the exercise wouldn't it! I need you actually recycle more than I already do!😄😄😄
Christine! I never would have invested in gilding flakes, thinking I'd never use them. Now, however....😍 Autumn is my favorite season, and between the red mix flakes and that beautiful tree embossing folder, WOW! Thank you for sharing your talents and creative ideas. C&S cards are my very favorite, thanks to you! 😊
Christine, I always get excited when I see you have posted another video. I love gilding flakes and everything shiny (mica powders, embossing powder, metallic watercolors, etc). I was so happy last night when I was going through my dies and stencils to refresh my memory on what I have on hand, and I found a beech tree stencil very similar to what you used in your recent video. Thank you so much for more ideas on how to use what I already have.
Could listen to your voice all day, love the way, you show it as it is, not always perfect, but turns out lovely, and just like me, you will put things down ie dyecuts then guess where the have gone, ie somewhere here carol

Just gorgeous. thank you ❣We live on a mountain in WA state, USA. I LOVE our Ravens. Such amazingly smart birds. But, the Bald Eagle tops them all as they soar through our skies. Great fun, Chris! Learned so much, even the second time through. The double-sided adhesive sheets really make it easier to use gilding flakes. Beautiful results! From Cheryl in AZ
This looks amazing, they call that sponge a 'rubbit scrubbit'...I find mine most useful and as you say you don't need much gilding flakes....then a gentle rub so it does not go to powder too soon and lose the effect. Thank you Chris, great ideas....xx
Thanks for taking us on your experimental ride. I usually spend a bunch of time Googling before I attempt any experiments. Bit of a coward, I guess. The gilded card is spectacular and I really love the multicolored gilding flakes but I'm resisting (for now).

Thank you for the tip for saving and not making such a mess with the flakes. I have several pots of flakes but haven’t used them as the thought of them blowing everywhere stopped me 😬
Christine, thank you so much for this video.Your card, as always, is gorgeous. I have had six pots of beautiful gilding flakes ( because it is so hard to choose just one colour), a scoochy, a palette knife and a pot of embossing paste ( because I saw it demonstrated on embossing paste ) sitting in a bag on my shelf for over 8 years, because I was / am afraid of the embossing paste. Isn't that silly! However, after watching you tonight Christine, I am going to gild my way to the glitziest Christmas cards I have ever made and, as I have plenty of double sided sheets, I won't need to buy anything. Thank you again my friend. I will toddle off to bed soon in a very happy frame of mind. :) ♥

For Christmas cards to give out and/or mail, do you typically mass produce one card design or do you make a mishmash of different designs?
My cards are mainly individual but if I don't have enough when it nears mailing time I do some batch making!
What a nice way to start a day - crafting with Christine! You commented that you thought the area around the oval of your card was somewhat bald. So, how would change that?
Clarification: so, how would YOU change that and make it look less bald?
Perhaps make a small oval frame using nesting dies in a shiny card stock that picks up a colour you wish from the gilding flakes.

Please would you advise on the sheets of micro dots, The make and where to get them would help me to find them, with thanks, Carol
It depends which continent you live on! A Google search usually finds the things you need. If you can’t find them let me know where you are and I’ll take a look!
Hi, thanks for your reply. I think I have found the correct dots by Creative Expressions called Sticky Specks and I got them from Amazon the same day as ordering in the UK. I haven’t tried them yet, Carol
Several companies make them, is great that you got some!
