    Absolutely love the card and another new technique to try. I’m 76 and who ever said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks? I’m a very messy card maker always misplacing something or other. I now keep a magnet handy for the pesky dies that hide from me. My hubby asks how I work with the mess on my desk but it just works as I change my mind numerous times from the original plan that I had and who has time to put things away that I just might need until the project is done. Thank you for teaching me that white space on a card is so very pretty.

      I’ve taken to crafting at my kitchen counter, for several reasons, not the least of which is great under-cabinet lighting! I’ve also found it quite convenient for sticking tape to the upper cupboard face, and now, at your suggestion, I’ll be affixing a magnetic sheet to it as well! Thanks BUNCHES for that bit of genius!!

    You are a gem! I was watching and laughing along, yes, 'don't get old', I say every day and laugh at myself so often. And I agree with Suzanne, my workspace looks the same and I'm always losing something, not only at my craft table, but all over the house. It sounds like so many of us are in our 70's. My daughter is always getting after me for purchasing more 'stuff', but what else am I supposed to do, sit and do nothing?? Never!! Keep um coming Christine. Oh the technique was awesome.

      The best idea for not misplacing dies (especially really small ones) is to get a magnetic bowl.
      They come in various sizes and shapes and can be found at auto parts stores. My son gave me a small rectangle one, but I've since acquired a mid-size round one for about $2.00. I found mine at a Harbor Freight store.

    • @Chrissieannie
      @Chrissieannie  2 года назад +2

      The thing is I have a magnetic sheet at the back of my desk which is where I put dies during a project until it's time to put them away, but I can't always spot the dies I want on that sheet as happened today with the tiny dots!! 🤣🤣🤣

    Very pretty card Chris. When I was a teachers aide at Preschool we had very large tubs of powdered paint which I mixed up with water to make the water paint for the kids. I’m sure it was just like brushos we have now but nowhere near as expensive. If you spilt the tiniest bit it would take forever to clean it up. We did bubble blowing with the water paint and it works well with the brushos.

    HINT: Christine, before your pretty new plates get all marred (since I’m pretty sure you’re inclined to add a shim of some thickness at this point), decrease your current “sandwich” to a sufficient thickness wherein you can add TWO SHEETS of VINYL between the cutting plates. Then put the die on the card stock BETWEEN THESE TWO LAYERS. Although I’ve only used this “sandwich” for a dozen or so cuts, it seems to have 2 benefits: 1) The “sandwich” doesn’t need to be so thick, so it takes some pressure off the machine and the plates (- AND it’s easier on YOUR joints!!). Less pressure helps keep the plates from warping so soon (You’ll probably still want to continue to flip and turn your plates for added longevity); 2) Because the vinyl has “give”, the die cuts into that, so it doesn’t so readily mar your plates. As I said, I’ve only used this technique for a very brief time, but I saw this on another RUclipsr’s video (So v e r y sorry I can’t remember her name!!). She’s taken it to the next level wherein she’s researched different types of vinyl and is now selling a type that she feels is a best quality, but also shares with her viewers that most any moderately thick vinyl, like the kind U.S. bedding comes in, or the kind that we can get from fabric stores, will also work.
    Good luck and be well!

      ruclips.net/video/FbTRgpQR0TE/видео.html
      I've used this hack for about 10 months now, and find it MOST USEFUL !! My cutting plates have only the scarring that occurred BEFORE I started using the vinyl, and only just now have I needed to flip the plates to counter a V E R Y slight warping in one of them! I've replaced ONE of the vinyl sheets -- the one that the "tooth" of die cuts into -- so, I will say, this is a great way to keep the costs of crafting at a minimum -- AND, if you live in a part of the world that costs you "through the nose" for shipping, as well as product!, this may be something you already have access to. Also, the frustration of stubborn non-cutting dies has ALL BUT been eliminated (no metal "detail plate" needed which, I'm sure over time, would dull the cutting "blade" of your dies further!!). Enjoy, Crafters!!

Spray shaving cream ( home brand is great) drizzle inks on top lay paper on top for a few seconds then gently scrape off with old credit card or spatula and let dry. It may warp your cardstock if you want place baking paper on wet paper then a book or equivalent some heavy. Use as many colours as you like. Enjoy 😉

    Such a lovely, pretty result. You can get larger bubbles if you blow slower & transfer some of your bubbles out of the container & place them on the cardstock, instead of holding it over the container. Also helps you control where the colour goes a bit more. Multi coloured bubbles also look spectacular! I wonder how they’d go with some mica in the mix too 🤔
