Hello Christine . Just have to say that I love that you show your indecision in choosing mediums and colours when you’re crafting . You’ve proved o me that I’m not stupid when I take forever deciding exactly what to do next , what will look best . I always find the putting together is the quickest bit . Great video , as per usual .
Christine thank you for sharing your talent. The embossing folders can be a real problem. I keep all the “political and advertising cards that come in the mail. I add one or two to the sandwich for shims as needed. They work wonderfully.
Just beautiful background and gorgeous card! I’ve got something new to try…. Thank you so very much for sharing and explaining all your talents with us! Blessings, Nancy Rolfe
Hi Christine . To flaten out your plate boil a large pot of water, Place the plate in a baking tray, pour bowling water over to submerge the plate and place the lage pot on top as a weight. Leave it for 20 to 30 min. The plate should be flat and any scratches should be reduced.
The finished card is always very clear on Facebook and you can actually get a clear close-up look. that is where I always go to see the final result. Thanks for sharing this technique and the lovely results it created as always Patricia
Another beautiful card❤❤ I could watch your videos all day but I should make a card. Really appreciate learning new ways to use embossing folders as background. Thank you...
Thank you for proving the issue of embossing folder sandwiches changing with each folder and being temperamental...lol. you persevered through it all and created a most lovely card!
Love dragon flies! They look beautiful on the card in shades of blues. I also have a battle with plates for different embossing folders, the tip you were given is a very good idea. Thank you and take care.
I find most of my folders go with the large base plate and both clear plates. See if that helps, it’s very frustrating especially when you’ve not a huge space to work in. I love watching all your videos xx
@@diannblakeblake9340 they all vary, the silly thing was that I started today using the sandwich in the video, which had worked earlier that morning, but in the video I found it too tight. Crazy!
An utterly delightful card with the resist embossing and that glorious salvaged patina colour. ❣ I hope you can imagine us answering you when you ask "What do you think?" and "Isn't it pretty?" Murmurs of approval abound, I'm sure. I've learned to accept much more random results by watching your videos for which I'm grateful. In fact last night when tempted to toss something in the bin, I thought, "Chris would pummel this into submission!" So that's what I did and it worked! 🤣
Wonderful Helen, I would be sad if no-one gave the odd response. I feel so fortunate to have such s wonderful, supportive bunch of friends all around the world! Humbling indeed!😊
Thanks - your process ideas are great - I don't make cards (just journals) but your tips and methods are adaptable to so many other projects such as tags and journal cards etc.
Oh, your embossing saga looks just like mine! I keep a few rectangular shims made from cereal boxes on hand & usually these give enough extra pressure for a clean image.
Hello christine . Merci de prouver que fond que on réalisé peut également servir pour tout le reste de la création. Des fois on cherche ce qui pourrait matcher avec alors comme vous le démontrez on peut utiliser les chutes . Merci and good evening 👏👋👋
Thank you for your beautiful card Christine. Your colour choice is my favourite colour and I use it a lot too. Enjoyed watching your process but I admit I was feeling your frustration in finding the right plate combo. 🇨🇦
Hi. Another lovely card and another great video, thank you for sharing this. The colours are super, a nice light, airy feel. I treated myself last week to a new pair of cutting plates and suddenly die cutting is a joy once more so I can heartily recommend it. Rest assured that I am most definitely subscribed to your channel and have been for quite some time. Maybe the other folks are not sure of the procedure, I know it took me a while at first to pluck up the courage to try pressing a few buttons to see what they do.😂 Thanks again and have a good day.😊
This card turned out beautifully in the end, love the extra oval and the little dragonflies with the bigger one. Your second background was as equally impressive as the first one. Yes, different brands of embossing folders, difference thickness, makes it hard to know what the heck to use for the sandwich, so I agree....a fabulous idea to put the sandwich on the embossing folder! I do so wish they would stick to same thickness for all the regular embossing folders and the same thickness for all the 3D ones though, it would make our crafty life easier. LOL Hugs, Brenda
@@Chrissieannie It popped up on You Tube as soon as your video finished. And then it linked all your other cards on the You Tube Community tab. Love that we can go there to see all those for inspiration. Not sure why, but I had difficulty clearly seeing what you were doing in today's video. (The table top seemed a washed out or overlit.) So I just listened to you as you described what you were seeing, eagerly waiting to see the finished card. And when I did, I was amazed at the gorgeous colors and how the oval truly made the card! Thanks for all you continue to do to make these helpful videos, Chris. You are a talented artist and outstanding teacher! Your videos make my day! ❤️ From Cheryl in AZ.
@@rochestermanagementservice6082 I did have to zoom in on this video as I was using my watch to control it and it zoomed out without me noticing but it still looked ok to me. It's strange how this happens. Maybe I'll just stay the camera with my finger instead of my watch!
That colour combination is glorious Chrissie and the dragonflies look great flitting over that wonderful dry/white heat embossed background, and love the added die cut sentiment all using bits of the same background piece which you made. The extra added Salvaged Patina ink on all the dragonflies really makes them pop. x
Lovely technique. Beautiful card. Just one problem. Sometimes your camera is slightly out of focus so the images are a bit blurred and I cant see a clear picture of the more delicate work. I do love watching your videos and your thought process.
Sorry about that… if I record via my watch it sometimes zooms out unbeknown to me, which means that I have to edit to zoom in again when picture quality is reduced I think I’ll just have to go with my finger rather than my watch!.
The struggle is real. Companies don't even agree whether you should put the embossing folder in with the folded end first or the open end and, of course, all of the folders are different thicknesses. The idea of noting the sandwich is a good one but I'm wondering if different thicknesses of cardstock are going to affect the sandwich also. Lovely color combo for the folder AND the dragonflies. Off to find the completed card.
It helps to know I’m not the only one struggling with correct sandwich layer with these embossing folders 😵💫🥴🤪one thing that has helped is using 80lb cardstock only
Funnily enough I had used that same folder earlier and the sandwich I tried worked straight away, I thought I was using the same sandwich in the video, but something didn’t work! 🫢
Lovely card as usual. I’ve noticed that your video quality lately has been 360p. It was 720p before but not exactly sure when I noticed the change. The resolution hasn’t been as crisp but it doesn’t detract from the excellent ideas presented. Just an fyi. Thank you.
I recorded this via my watch which zoomed out of its own accord and I had to edit it to compensate. This is probably the reason for the lack of definition. I don’t alter the resolution on the camera!🫢
Add a small glue dot on both sides between the wings and near the body in a spot they won’t be seen. That way the wings will pop back up again after coming out of the envelope. I believe Jennifer McGuire made this suggestion so I’m passing it along.😊
I have a video where I show a technique for making the wings pop up, using little pieces of acetate after seeing a video by Jennifer McGuire, ruclips.net/video/xi4PiPD-W68/видео.htmlsi=BbtCINQe1GAM_Yxd I can't quite see how a glue dot would make them pop up, I use glue dots to stick them down.
