One small detail that LOVED: Dani will sing/hum along to the song that’s on the radio
I noticed that too! Such a small detail that makes a big difference with immersion. Dani will even continue for a second when you turn the radio off
The protagonist being engaged is the best thing. She also gives some clues. And talks to strangers in very short dialogue. I feel this is a stroke of genius that more games need to implement.
GTA IV had that too! I really love when developers give us little things like that!

I'm loving it. 3 got me into the series and nothing since has been nearly as good and this is almost a return to form for me. The island especially. Agree with missing the skill trees and it's annoying to keep changing gear.
Honestly the same. 3 was INCREDIBLE, but I’ve enjoyed everyone since so far except for New Dawn
@s p y d e r not even close. It’s closer to new dawn with enemy health and. Tbh I haven’t played that game so I don’t know if ammo types are a factor. But you can’t just mow everyone down with a suppressed rifle like in 5.
After New Dawn I thought I was done with the series but FC6 has me back in.
Far cry is honestly one of the only game series where I don’t mind it being the same thing over and over again.

It's like reading books. Ultimately you're doing the same thing over and over again but each time is a different story.
@@MyOwnVoucherEverywhere Yeah well thats the rpg stuff again. I dont mind it in games that are full on rpgs where enemies are weak to elements, blunt, thrust, magic attacks. I dont want that on a fps, definetly not in far cry as it doesent fit in it.
I work in a warehouse from 6am to 1pm and when I get home exhausted I still want to play this game. Except for a skill tree this game has it all, and keeps me interested. Unlike cyberpunk, the characters are very likeable and this helps draw me in. I actually put this game above FC3, this is as good as it gets for Far Cry.

I felt exactly the same, at first I was like “eh I like it it’s okay” but as I played it more it really hooked me. The changes really started to click for me on hour 3 and I think it’s a fantastic game
Once u unlock better shit, better vehicles ect the game gets way better, the only gripe I have is gun powder when trying to upgrade weapons, I wish I could just spend my thousands of pesos instead
I feel like this is also me? I feel it may have clicked last night - I just had that I can’t kick things anymore or use melee weapons .
the only think that bothered me was the replacement of the skill tree with a backpack but I love the game so far. The gunplay feels so good and the open world is mint
The game opens up so much once you leave the tutorial Island. I love exploring the different environments in this game. And I love on some of the coasts how it almost feels like a vacation getaway, with vacation chairs and drink huts and what not
Far Cry 5 left such a sour taste in my mouth. That game felt like such a chore to play and I was so happy it was over. I don’t get that feeling with far cry 6 at all. It’s a lot more fun and not the right word but “realized” than fc5 ever felt. Having a lot of fun so far and genuinely looking forward to more!

I stopped playing after that 1 mission u get kidnapped by that guy, deleted it afterwards, not only is it so thoughtless and tedious but it doesn't even feel like playing a game it feels like doing a chore
I really like the look of this game,but Ubisoft games seem to drop in price so quickly,I'll wait for a sale..love the look of the environment.

Idk why but I preferred primal over 3, I just fell in love with the game and never had any complaints about it. Primal was the best far cry in my opinion. I got no idea why it got so much stick, even in a different language I felt so engaged, the world was stunning, mounts and pets were actually useful like fangs, and the gameplay was solid and meaty.
people were so nasty about Far Cry Primal and I never understood it. it was fun and different!

I also really loved primal. Not as much as 3 but that's because 3 is probably my favorite. Primal comes right behind it though.
Primal was excellent I 100% it in 20 hours getting all achievements! Riding the bear around was so badass!!
Primal was the first far cry I played and I thought it was great, especially the animal taming and stuff. For the time it was a really good looking game as well
The best thing about it is that Jake makes videos on it!
i bought far cry 6 2 days ago and i cannot stop playing it. i love far cry and this game is so fun. the character are so likable to me. feel so cool when i just go on a tear and kill like 60 soldiers. and the map makes me wanna just drive for hours and never leave my car.

The first few hours weren’t great and I thought I was going to quit but the travel, landscape, and exploration is what hooked me, also when Dani (girl) started singing to the radio. The charm hit me.
I love every Far Cry Game i cant say they bore me or something like that and i love that you have in every far cry a different villian and island to explore i love that

Pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition, been playing it from Day 1 and it has become my favorite Far Cry game

As someone that used to absolutely love far cry, okayed every single one but got lost in new dawn, I wasn’t looking very forward for a new entry, I wasn’t expecting one until the villain played by Giancarlo Esposito got showed I was hyped, something inside of me sparked once again just like when far cry 4 got announced for the first time, it was a nice feeling for a change, I hadn’t been this excited for a new Ubisoft title for a long long time, now that reviews are up, I still waited a bit to see the reception, especially yours, knowing all the positive aspects as a fellow far cry 3 lover myself, I can safely say your impresiones just sold me on the game completely, it’s nice to see far cry back on a mostly positive way!
60 FPS makes fat cry 6 so much better for me after playing on 30 FPS for every far cry game 😭. Yara is a beautiful island! The characters and story are great! The gameplay is fun as well.

Funny you should mention the "one man army" thing, because there's a crossover mission they added in the game involving Rambo and you can get his LMG I think
Loving it I’m level 14 almost done with the campaign, my favorite weapon is a level 4 unique AR I found, favorite supremo is the first one they give you it comes in handy so much

Dude. I'm so glad I watched this, and thank you! I love FC games, and was kinda down to play this, even though I got the game for free via my Ryzen CPU... now that's changed, and I'm really looking forward to it now. I appreciate all those little details, and always compare to FC3! :) Thanks man!
I've enjoyed this game a lot more than I thought I would. I couldn't say the same for Valhalla, though I'm going to likely give Valhalla another chance since I was dealing with bad anxiety and depression when I tried getting into it.
I’ve been playin Valhalla after skipping odyssey and I gotta say, it feels different and yet a bit familiar. Combat can be either be frustrating or very rewarding, a little repetitive but fun. Exploring the map, doing river raids and fighting bosses is one of the biggest highlights of the game for me. Definitely recommend checking it out once you’re feeling better

Nope nope nope Odyssey was visually appealing and had a good story and sure the game wasn't about assassins but it wasn't awkward the characters in vallhalla are awkward as fuck and its like something is wrong with them 😵. Plus odyssey was more rewarding in terms of exploring because it had mystery in vallhalla after 5 hours u basically have the just of the entire game.
I'd suggest you go and play odyssey from start to finish
I did enjoy Vallhalla though. But I recommend following quest lines and then explore the areas after you're done with that areas quest lines. Makes it way less of a chore.
Oh, and the Ireland DLC is not really worth it XD haven't played the Paris one yet. Got a bit exhausted after Ireland. But I will return, cause I do want more.

Great music, great characters and overall inmersive experience... I Agree with you it did take me by surprise, I'm a new 3080ti owner but I'm playing this on stadia mostly for the fact that i can do side missions in bed on my phone, while. Main missions on Chromecast on the big screen, this one can become a classic.

I just reached the point last night where I completely agree that I really like the main character. The talk at the end of the mission with you and Bichó’s shenanigans (trying to avoid spoilers) really sealed the deal.
Good on you for acknowledging what I believe most people have come to appreciate: the world building is excellent, and the game is just plain fun.

I'm having a great time with it, I agree with everyone, the gameplay does feel a little cut and paste from all the previous but for the most part that hasn't gotten old for me yet. At first I wasn't a huge fan of the bullet types and the different equipment giving us different perks but it's an interesting change. I've only thrown about 8 hours in and have been exploring a lot more than progressing the story. I'm excited to do it up in coop too.

I'm playing in ps5 and really enjoying it so far. It runs smooth as butter and looks good. Most importantly it is fun. I am really digging the tropical setting. I am loving Dani as a character too. The way she sings along with songs is much appreciated. Really enjoying this Farcry more so than the past couple entries. Game on gamers.

Haven’t been able to get into a Far Cry game since 3. Now I’m loving 6. To me Far Cry is tropic island settings all the way. Helps to play a game in this setting when your in lockdown too.
I absolutely love far cry 6! It's the first I've played in the series lol. But I waited for your review on gameranx and was sold. Then found this one. Just the whole Latin, Cuban aspect of the game, characters and everything is just amazing. Really has brought me to the side of my culture that I didn't know I needed and didn't know I loved. One of my favorite games in the last couple years.

Echoing most of my feelings on the game in this one. Yea I’m still chasing that far cry 3 feeling which won’t be matched but I’m enjoying 6 still
I'm happy to see Primal get some recognition. I loved the gameplay because it felt like the AI couldn't just snipe you from a hundred meters away. The combat felt pretty tangible and the story was satisfying
Just finished 5 on games pass. Had Fc2 back in the day but missed the rest. Immediately bought 6 and am absolutely loving it
burnt out for sure. I've been going back to play story based games, get too overwhelmed with so many 50 hour plus games that come out, end up stopping less than half way

This game has a perfect combination of the old game play elements I love about Far Cry games, with enough new features and gameplay elements that it makes it feel fresh. And I'm loving it on PS5 at that nice high resolution in 60fps
I played Far Cry 2 and 3. Absolutely loved those games. Skipped Blood Dragon, don’t ask me why. Totally skipped 4, Primal and 5 because of that same reason. I wasn’t “feeling” the games anymore. When I saw this game, through the trailers, I thought it might be good to give it another shot! And I am totally glad I did! Reminds me a whole lot of 2 and 3. And with the Latino flavor, that resonates with me! Great review Jake!
The best thing about Far Cry 6 is the friendly AI, they always make things more dramatic and fun.
There’s been times where I’d slip up and get outnumbered by reinforcements, and out of nowhere my comrades would pull up in jeeps or run out of the woods and aide me.
They seem to be helpful in a lot of scenarios whether it’s a mission or just free roam stuff. That at least makes up for me not being able to call my own human companion honestly
*Sense of speed:* I'm pleasantly surprised at the movement speed in this game. Once you get a bunch of parkour clothing and supremo mods, I found myself running, crouch-sliding, and supremo boost jumping like a maniac (almost like a 90s arena shooter fast). After hearing many reviews boiling it down to just "endlessly conquering camps" I'm super happy to see the unexpected nuance that the missions have. Im really enjoying this one!
Nice take. I'm one of those dude bros who is fine with more Far Cry. The gameplay and worlds have always been so addicting to me. I haven't gotten it yet since I've gotten every one cheap on sale a year or so after release but I'm tempted to get Ubisoft+ to run through it real quick.

I love FC6. The world is fantastic - not just beautiful but smartly constructed for fun gameplay - and the story is compelling. Most of all, no other series does gun mechanics as well as FC. The controls, aiming, variety all feel so good.

100% with you on Primal being my favorite after Far Cry 3
Yara is way too beautiful not to look at it! I highly recommend playing without the minimap. It’s harder to keep track of where chests and stuff are but using the environment and waypoints already on screen to navigate the world is just even more immersive.

I've been playing it since it came out, and really enjoying it. But I was able to get my buddy to get it as well and we play together, he doesn't play as much as me. And we have SO MUCH FUN. We don't even have to be doing the story, just driving around beating up bad guys. It's really fun, and even more fun with someone else.
I also wasn’t sure at first, but this might be my favorite Far Cry game now. I really like the cast of characters with all the kickass women, Clara and Jonron especially. The subtle and not so subtle facts about revolution are also a favorite aspect. Even a successful revolution has a good chance of being flipped by the former rulers becoming the insurgents. The U.S. was lucky that its former overlords were an ocean away. Not enough loyalists for a counter-insurgency to take root.
I've loved the Far Cry games. I was waiting on buying 6 as I'm just not excited about the tropical island setting. After 3 and the Just Cause games, and it seems like so many other games, I'm kinda burnt out on tropical islands. I loved 5 because of the rural US setting, it felt new for an open world game.
I was in the camp of not really expecting to enjoy 6 after putting down 5 partway through. But after playing for awhile and acquiring some of the cool weapons and vehicles, I've been having a lot of fun with it. It almost feels like Far Cry meets GTA with how huge the map is, and how many vehicle options there are. I love driving around in a tank or flying one of the various attack choppers or planes and causing chaos, or even just taking in the sights.
your farcry 3 take is exactly the same as mine. I have been chasing that high ever since then. I had once considered it my absolute favorite FPS, period. In terms of mechanics, story, immersion, the world, everything. May even still be that for me. I just started 6 late last night so didnt get too far. im diggin it so far tho

Damn, Jake me too. There was something about Far Cry 3 where I couldn’t put it down. I feel like they gotta do something different again like how fry cry 2 changed to far cry 3, some survivor tense moments and dinosaurs in the jungle stuff would be so nice.
far cry primal is their most underrated game and unfairly so in my opinion and many others it was a massive departure from all the other titles it dared to be different and it is still to date the best looking game if your PC can run it in 4k.
so now you know why all far cry games look and feel and play the same, they tried something different and it did not sell so well.
Far Cry 5 was my first Far Cry I played beginning to end and I had a ton of fun playing that game. But Far Cry 6... I feel is a MASSIVE improvement over 5. I absolutely love what they did with this game. I don't even miss the skill tree that much. I LOVE how you can find weapons and good crafting materials out in the world. So satisfying. The sounds with getting head shots is AWESOME! Especially with a silenced rifle. And what I am most impressed by is the insane attention to detail they put into everything. The menu, the crafting, the gameplay, the visuals. I am beyond impressed. I swear it's those little quality of life things that can take a good game to a great game. You can tell they really, at the end of the day, want you to have as much fun and cause as much chaos as possible. That's why they give you stuff early in 6, that took half of Far Cry 5 to unlock. Incase it isn't obvious I am LOVING Far Cry 6 so far and I am very impressed with Ubisoft and the team that made this game.
Far Cry returning to a tropical island setting just felt so right. I like 6 a lot more than 5 right now.
I don’t play multiplayers too much so as you said having a large open world to chip away at is the equivalent of quality gaming time. I still have to say the narrative of far cry 5 and the iconic Joseph seed did strike a deeper cord with me though.

I like the little things in far cry 6 especially if you know Spanish and play the game in Spanish. Idk if Dani sings along to the songs on the radio in English but man it's cool too sing along with Dani on all the good songs they got on the radio.

I was very hesitant to buy it because of so many negative reviews but then I realized the most important opinion is my own, and I'll decide my damn self. Lol Im loving the game, very happy I listened to me, I'm a smart guy.

Haven't played far cry since 4, that one is amazing, I'm gonna try this one out thanks to ur review man, question though, do I need the season pass etc, to fully enjoy the game, or can I just buy the standard edition and enjoy it for wat it is? 💯🤔
We've played 3, 4, 5 and New Dawn and we are major 5 + New Dawn lovers! I think Vaas Montenegro and Joesph Seed are hands down the most compelling antagonists we've seen. Castillo seems dangerous and powerful, of course, but I don't feel quite as intrigued - I feel like I've seen dictator stories, I get what he's about. I found both Vaas and Joseph to be way less predictable and way more menacing! We are about six hours into 6 now - having a blast and enjoying the hilarious glitches!

Always great to hear your opinion Jake! I will wait for a sale myself, because (1) I have a lot of games in the backlog and (2) from what I gather from reviews Far Cry 6 is more Far Cry, I don't mind that, but I don't think that that alone warrants a full price purchase
