Jake, I listen to a metric ton of gaming content along with other genres and creators. I can truly say I feel the heart put into Gameranx and your personal content. There is definitely corporate cut and paste content out there, but I've never put you guys in that category. Keep up the good work man!

I don’t believe that comment either, ive always come to gameranx instead of other top tens and cookie cutter game review channels because of the heart that goes into each video. From my favorites like the Friday news show to something still with heart that falcon voices over with great visual graphics, doesn’t make sense to call this channel heartless and void of creativity

The way you responded to the Gameranx criticism is the reason I love watching all Gameranx videos. You have integrity and respect for everyone's opinion. Love it.
I liked how you talked about toxicity in games. I always tell my daughter to not feed into the bait, or use that to make her to play harder in a game. And I even run into adults that do the same thing. That's why I always enjoy the aspect of muting general chat or ignoring the private messages, because it pisses off the toxic person even more.

I think it's a fair question, however that person doesn't get it. Top 10 videos work, they can be cranked out and people watch them which keeps the channel alive. Those funds also help bring in additional and different content, plus reviews.

you should not get mad at questions
Personally not a huge fan of top 10 videos (on a scale gameranx do them better than most, and I do watch them from time to time), but if they are needed to support the other content then I will never complain. This is not exclusive to Gameranx, there's a few channels that seem to follow this model. I really enjoy the videos I watch and just ignore the ones I don't like the look of. Please keeping doing what you need to do to produce the content you do
Props for including a critical question in the ones you chose to address, when you didn't have to. As a newspaper editor, we do the same thing with our opinion pages. It hurts sometimes, but it does so much to show your integrity, not to mention the thickness of your skin.
Oh wow, I didn't realize how much I appreciate Gameranx until you discussed that comment of it being formulaic. I find the channel/company to be truly tuned in on the craft of gaming with clear love for it. The "what made [x] such a big deal?" , "What Killed [x]"?, and especially "The 10 best games of [year] we never forgot" are fantastically researched deep dives and lists. Tell your team there is much love for the effort put into all the videos, but definitely the deep dives!
Addressing that "Mojo" comment is huge man. Not many people could professionally address something like that that way. It shows about how passionate you are about what you do. Keep killing it fam
it's been 2 years since i graduated high school and i've been watching gameranx since 6th grade. I still come weekly for the friday show and use the before you buys before i buy almost every game at this point, love you guys keep doing what you do

The animated adaptation(s) of The Dark Knight Returns (it's a two-parter) are a couple of my favourite movies ever. The animation, the music, the voice acting... each is a prime example of what adapting such a story to the animated medium can add to the experience, and the movies absolutely nail each, in my opinion. This might run contrary to the advice given in this video, but I highly recommend the movie(s) to anyone even only somewhat interested in the Batman character/series!

For Batman, I feel like you can never go wrong with Year One, Long Halloween, Court of Owls, and the White Knight series to start and branch from. Chip Zdarsky is about to start his run on Batman, he's currently writing an incredible Daredevil at marvel.
Zdarsky can write all...I say with only minor hyperbole. lol This is the best since Waid with believable characters and something that feels in tune with his arc. I can't wait for his Batman.
I think Black Mirror is also one of the best Batman comics.
I have to add in Batman Hush 😩 still one of my favorite Batman stories ever, great detective story and features a great selection of Batman’s Rogue gallery.

AMEN! I had the same thing happen for game of thrones for me too. I read the first book after the first episodes and then just couldn't really get into it. So much lore I didn't have to keep up with.

I watxh all of the vidoes you guys put out. My son is almost 2 years old and he loves Ed the tip 10 or numbered vidoes since he is learning numbers. He gets pumped when seeing the next number flash on screen.

We have very similar gaming tastes so I’m always curious to see what you think of a game, plus your reviews are very in-depth. Hey, love the video since the old studio keeping it up. I do have an questions with cross play being getting ask for games due u think there should just be an option in the console system to just have then being an feature in certain game!
I turn to the smaller youtubers when I want to learn about a game that's been out for a few years. There are a bunch of videos titled "Is __________ worth playing in 2022?". That's a great way to find out about new content and bug fixes.

If a media giant branched out into this world more I would expect them to be horrible and ignore them. I am also very loyal with my gaming RUclips following since tastes that match mine are very important and someone being into it and genuine are also huge factors to me. I also love Jake's positivity.
I really enjoy the Before You Buys and Friday news show (which should have a more official at this point) I actually wait for before you buy before buying a game most of the time.
