The Halo show was miles from being good. They made master chief into a giant man child, the prophets worked with some human chick which they'd never do. If you have no idea what Halo is, maybe it'd be decent but man, they murdered the lore.
"its the silver timeline..." blah blah blah. dude why even call it Halo, they just wanted the name.
You know what they also forgot? The actual Halo being in Halo 🤔🤣🤣🤣
The only problem with a Daredevil game is you, the player, being able to see your enemies kind of makes no sense. If they could figure out a cool way for the game to look and use his senses it'd be interesting, but if I can just see the enemies while the character can't, that doesn't make much sense and it would just feel like Arkham.

If it was me i'd make it so everything is red like daredevil sees things, with enemies further away popping up like water being disturbed by a rock or somesuch? (like water ripples).
When people get closer however you get a better outline of who and what they are, and get a gold highlighted outline or shape (still with the ripples but clearer) to indicate what type of enemy it is etc.
The only other problem would be how you'd handle ranged enemies etc, i guess you could show bullets as in the matrix, a flowing line rippling towards you.

I've said this so many times before - Daredevil needs his own game. Funny enough, a Daredevil game was leaked along with the Wolverine game months before Wolverine was revealed.

Daredevil is one of my favourite superheros, I think they could do like a two type game, fighting crime at night, and building evidence and working as a lawer in the day, like with RPG elements and relationship choices, a moral system. Daredevil is just a cool superhero, (particularly I like the Netflix adaptation)

building LEGO is very therapeutic for me. this past christmas i was gifted the Venom Bust LEGO, and it felt great to be building again. I used to feign on it as a kid.
I would love to pick it up again and get lost in building stuff, but i don’t want to keep any of the sets.

I love the way you get happy and excited about games, and that you give an even shake to most everything rather than blindly dunking on things you don’t personally care for. I think it's interesting to see how people approach games based on what they grew up with and what platforms or games were available in their countries when they first got into games.
I know you've mentioned several times that you're big into PC gaming, but also that you prefer playing on your couch. Do you spend any time behind the desk these days, playing with a mouse and keyboard, or do you play every game with a controller and couch it up on whatever console you happen to get a game on first?

My 2 Marvel pipe-dream games have always been a sick DareDevil beat'em up game like Arkham but with a DD twist. The other one would be a Punisher game in the open world style of GTA, obviously scaled back a bit... but the formula works and you could even incorporate the interogation system that was in the 2004 Punisher game.

Hey Jake, I missed out on a lot of classics as a kid partially because my family and I moved here from another country and couldn’t afford them, but also because of them not wanting me to play violent video games. I know that MGS is one of your all time franchises if not your top pick ever so I’m checking out MGSV right now. I’m 26 now so mom and dad can’t say no anymore lol Any recommendations on some other games that hold up until today or that are even just absolutely worth going back in time for?

I’d have to recommend BioShock and its sequels (including the DLC for BioShock 2 and Infinite, ESPECIALLY Burial at Sea). BioShock was like the first M rated game I bought myself when I turned 18 and bought my first modern console on my own with no parental supervision. It had just come out and was brand new, and it has just so much nostalgia for me because of that.
They remastered it all in one big collection with all DLC included not too long ago, so definitely consider picking that up.

I would have enjoyed the Halo TV series if it was instead titled Nimbus, the super soldiers were called Lakodaimonians, and the main character was named Jonny but his Office of Naval Smarts name was Jonathan.

Where do you guys normally get them? I can see sometimes the games are actual gameplay from you guys, but some of them, like trailers, are not. How do you get around that and do you guys encounter Copyright claims?
For example Rockstar Games often flags their trailer videos as a copyright claims and I wondered if you guys struggle with that as well.

Question: big fan of the show Jake. I just got my steam deck recently and I have been struggling to get "in the groove" with it. A lot of the games I imagined playing on it turned out to either not work properly, play at sub 40fps or control awkwardly with the steam deck layouts. Any advice/thoughts for how to get into it a bit more?

The reception of the trilogy was far from amazing, but do you think they will put more effort into 4 remastered? Especially because 4 is using RAGE engine, so hopefully they can use all the new features of that engine from RDR2 and GTAV.

When I imagine a daredevil game...I always think of how would they include the blind thing...and how would it play
The thing about the Matrix demo is that while it looks absolutely incredible, the framerate tanks to sub 20 constantly when you get into collisions on the PS5. I dont see how that will be improved in a full fledged game thats much deeper than a tech demo.

Your video on The Order 1886 in the middle of discussions around the Halo show got me thinking. Why not a The Order TV series? I feel like cinematic narrative driven games with cool worlds but lacklustre gameplay are ripe for that kind of stuff. Even a movie could be pretty good. I really want to know why you didn't make more videos about Marvel's Netflix television series (especially about Daredevil and Jessica Jones)!
I think the character arcs and the gore on those shows and the fact that they were geared toward adults were nicely done!

Hey Jake! I wondered if there were games you were not fond of at first but ended up really liking or appreciating. In the same vein, are there games you were super impressed with that you became less fond of with time?
I actually have to agree about Tunic! I wouldn’t say it’s From Software hard, but it is much harder than I expected and would’ve liked. I love the obscure nature of the game. I love the whole collectible in-game manual pages thing, and I love that like 95% of the text is in a made up language because it’s like you’re a kid and you somehow got your hands on this strange new game ported straight from Japan and you have no idea what anything says but you’re curious about what’s going on here. I freaking love that. Plus, the in-game manual reminds me of Ni no Kuni, and I loved what they did there with that game too. But the difficulty of Tunic is a real turn-off.
I’m not great at games. I’ve somehow beaten Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3, including all the DLC (minus that very last boss in the second DS3 DLC). I’ve beaten the Zodiac Phantom Aqua from KH 0.2 a fragmentary passage. I am very proud of all that. But that is about the extent of me playing and enjoying hard games. I’m tired of so many games coming out and being difficult. I played Persona 4 and 5 on the easiest setting because I just wanna have a good time and enjoy the story and characters. I just play games to relax, and beating my face against a wall does not help me relax.

Hey Jake, while taking a media history class in college last semester I read something interesting about adaptations, "an adaptation is a derivation that is not derivative-a work that is second without being secondary". Basically, by judging an adaptation (tv show, movie, etc.) of another piece of media by its faithfulness belittles new interpretations of a source, and that source materials shouldn't be considered automatically better than an adaptation.
What is your opinion on this mindset, and do you think some people are too quick film adaptations of games because they're different from the source?
