Video idea: give every HRE prince a 5 province colonial nation. Idk if there is enough for all of them but it be funny to see the reformation and who comes on top
You reckon you might do a mega campaign at some point? Imperator to Stellaris with each game its own video, there's a relatively modern game for each time period, and i believe converters for everything.
It would be interesting to see this same concept but splitting enclaves of terrain into individual Nations- that way you can make the game more dynamic (more nations) while also preventing some bordergore and preserving flavor
I'm betting on Switzerland being the strongest in the end purely because their forts are superior to everyone else on account of being in the mountains and also having most of the gold in the game. But Brandenburg and Vietnam are also strong contenders.
Fun fact, there are many names in Swedish that also literally mean something else. They are also incredibly common names, such as: Björn - Bear 62 000 Bo - Live/reside 86 000 Stig - Path 48 000 Axel - Shoulder 60 000 Sten - Rock 21 000 Bror - Brother 16 000 Liv - Life Saga - Saga/story
I think that's the case with most languages, though usually with an extra step for example I live in Scotland and a lot of our names have direct literal meanings like the ones you mentioned, but they are Gaelic names so because most of the population only speaks English nobody realises. I'd imagine the same is true for Swedish where a lot of the names will be old Norse words that you no longer recognise as words.
I live in a part of the northwest USA that had a lot of Scandinavian immigrants in the past and you still see some Nordic names here (like I've encountered Jurgen, Dagmar, lots of family names too). I'm surprised to hear that Axel is also one! There is a pawn shop here named Axel's Pawn. Just thought that was neat, thanks.

I have a idea for a run, not suitable for this channel but definitely for the chewyshoot channel. Not sure if has been done before . Run where the goal is to form as many nations you can in one EU4 run. What would be the strategy, start up n Europe or Asia ? Would be nice to fill the mission tree while playing with the formed nation but some would be time restricted of course . What do you think ? Would it be fun ?
I’ve never really found the challenge runs to be as enjoyable for me personally, but I do like the idea of doing a run that lets you max out, admin efficiency, or something like that, there’s a couple of interesting paths you can take to do something like that that I might consider for my next series
an idea, maybe all modern European Colonial powers, the rest is empty world, a couple colonists from the start maybe with an economy boost, and a starting truce (so they don't immediately kill each other off before colonization).
Every development is a country? Every 3 dev is United, every 4 dev is United etc. I expect the mid tier dev to win, there aren’t enough high dev provinces to hold them off.
feel low-key disrespected when you mentioned that Bjørn is Swedish for Bear, when its about the leader of Jan Mayen, a Norwegian overseas territory. And Yes, Bjørn means Bear in all three Scandinavian Nations.
actually you cant form annam, it is a releasable tag along with tonkin, after age of reformation dai viet can break into these 2 if they cant finish their missions
I always wondered what would happen if this occurred. Cool video. Also, kinda wished you gave Jan Mayen a modified Invasion modifier without the diplomatic penalty given how tiny they were. Look how they massacred my polar bear boy! 😢🐻❄️💀
EU4 Timelapses did that, it doesn't work, the AI needed mods to incentivise conquering and even then I think it took a good few thousand years before any of them actually did it.
