I'm gonna have to be honest: I love how it sounds out of the box. Did not prefer the tweakings on the Lightroom app. This actually sounds extremely clean.
DJI's mic is more worth the money in this case! For one the simple charging pod just makes it not only portable but super functional as well! Then the mic itself just works incredibly even at a far distance!
What an absolutely great, professional review! All the detail that I needed after staring at my new DJI Mic kit for the past couple of hours. Tried three other reviews earlier and they left me a little confused. Your review turned on all the lights (or sounds) for me. Now I am giddy trying all the options, iPhone, connected to my DJI Action 2, DJI Pocket 2, and as a voice-over for FCPX on my M1 Macbook Air. All worked flawlessly - just plug in, turn on, and enjoy really great audio from such a small device. Thanks for your hard work in putting together such a well organized and detailed review.
Great review, thanks very much! This is the fourth or fifth video I've watched on these mics and so far no one has shown how well the system works with both mics on, which I've had numerous interference problems with other wireless mics I've used.

I have the DJI pocket 2 camera,is this mic compatible? My question sounds dumb but I d like to know if I can plug it in. Thanks.
I believe the Transmitter mic will record internal audio tracks as well, meaning not connected to the receiver or camera or phone? I got my eyes on this set. I use the Lark 150 a lot
Great video! Can I ask what your camera volume is set to? I have my Sony at +1 volume, and I had to boost the receiver to +12db. I dont know if that is normal.
Hey Jordan Is this compatible with GoPro? Looking for something that records straight to the video without having to sync later in editing. Cheers for any help mate. Great review
Thanks :) This looks like a clear winner over the Røde Wireless Go II. Too bad it's not in stock currently, but I'll just use my current setup until it's ready :)
Bought it a week ago with 45 day delivery date... Then saw it on Best buy with 30 say delivery date so I cancelled the DJI order. Waited for my refund then checked on Best buy again, it was sold out. Went back to DJI and it's now 60 day delivery🙃🙃
@@B-RaDD I just had a chat with them at DJI yesterday. They said it'd be available in Europe in May, so anywhere from 14 days to 1½ months. It's not too bad. I like the smaller form factor over the Røde but in general they seem pretty comparable, and Røde makes good stuff generally. :)
I just purchase is little DJI Mic $530 (AUD), and really looking forward to using it. Thanks for making this video cheers new subscriber Western Australia
Never was interested in the Rode Wireless Go but this DJI joint 🤔🤔🤔... Would make it even more desirable if there was an iPhone/Android app to control the settings rather than using the tiny receiver.
Im looking up lithium Ion battery life it say 2000 to 3000 charges or 5 years life. I presume when the batteries die you have to throw the product away.
So when it came to just recording straight into the camera, how did you got about it? Reviews I’ve seen so far, shows the presenter always pressing the record butting in the transmitter, where as I’d have thought to be more intuitive, once the receiver is plugged into camera, you’d only need to press record on the camera ind it would start audio recording on whatever is connected. Is this possible or do I have to press record on the camera and or the receiver/transmitter?
One thing that wasn't explained here, great video though, is the backup video really makes it easy to sync the lav audio to multiple cameras even if they were started and stopped. Like say someone walking around with a phone camera on a gimbal. You can start and stop that and sync the lav audio to the continuous backup track. ;) One thing I had a question about is the output level of the headphone out jack. Does it have a reasonable volume level, or be adjustable?
Can we run a wired mic from the transmitter to the shirt? How's this one compared to the Rode for interview/documenting. For 1 person. Seems has much more features like using on the phone, camera and the ports and charging, to make it worth the extra money.
Great video. Could you tell me the dimensions of the charging kit? It's on back order at B&H and I'm setting up my hard case and need to know how to arrange things. Thank You.
Have you tried it with a wired lav yet? People are saying there is a terrible hum when you use it a lot of lavs, including professional ones made by Rode.
Just received mine today (in Japan) after pre-ordering in late Dec 2021. I can confirm it works with GoPro media mod (hero8) - I would assume works same with hero9
Very informative video! Thank you. I frequently shoot video of over one hour in length. I heard another reviewer say that with long videos he has been having problems with the on-board recorded audio being out of sync with the video. Have you been having problems with this? The ability to record audio to the internal drive would be the primary reason for me to buy this rig. Thanks again.
Ok I just want to know this. I have an s23 Ultra and a newer gopro neither have aux audio inputs can I use some sort of usb c adapter to make this work with those devices? if so does it come with it? Thanks!
Do you know if the DJI Mic receiver will fit into the lightning port of an iPhone 13 Pro when using the SmallRig Video Kit, or will the cage block the Receiver from fully attaching?
Hey, can you confirm if the DJI Mic's receiver when clipped onto the supplied hot shoe adapter, mounts on a cold-shoe and not hot shoe mount on camera? Thanks.
I am trying to record basketball workshops with guest coaches speaking. Would this work.. This wireless system with the 3.5mm Out plugged into our camera, and the headphone jack plugged into our external amplified speaker (Ion Block Rocker)? I am trying to get clean audio directly into the video for online sharing, but also need to increase the volume going out so that kids in the sportshall can hear it (there's likely to be 70 kids or so) Or would I need to have 2 microphones , this one into the camera, and then one directly into the ion block rocker?
Hi, as the receiver has 3.5mm TRS port to a mic. Could I use a TRS Y splitter in each receiver to plug in 4 TRS mic and record it with all four people? Thanks
Will this record two channels of discreet audio to a Samsung S21 Ultra with each mic on its own channel? If so, will this work with the native cam app and Filmic Pro?
How can it do any of these things when its not actually in stock anywhere? Months worth of these teaser videos and still cant buy it. So at the moment rode is still the best option over this vaporware.
Hi great video. I have a question. If you use the iPhone and record video, do you need to remove the adapter in order to play and listen to the video. This is happening with the rode wireless go connected via trrs. Thanks in advance.
One expectation I've heard is that this would somehow offer Timecode features, such as jam syncing. My guess is no TC - could you please confirm? Thanks in advance!
Here's the downside of the DJI Mic, if you're using an iPhone you can only record mono so you can't have separate channels which is a friggin bummer Man... For the love of God please make a lightning adapter that lets you keep the channel stereo on an iPhone. I just ordered a Rode SC15 cable to see if I can use this as a temporary workaround it works with the rode Go II, so when I get it in a couple days I'll test it out and let you know how it works. Again, DJI please develop a new lightning plug so we can have the option of going mono or stereo with an iPhone… I know I can record on each transmitter but it's just that much more work to bring it into the editing system and syncing it up. I'd rather be able just to drop it into the timeline and have separate Mic channels…
@@9to5toys So i just received my DJI Mic and I use it for standalone recording. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but the sound is very low when I hear the recording from my computer. On the receiver the sound level looks okay (about two third) but when I listen to the audio, it is low. And from Final Cut Pro, the sound level is below 6 which is weird because it should be below 12. What am I doing wrong ?
I wish DJI made it simple to remove and replace the clip from the transmitters. 1st- it would be a good feature to have in case you break the clip, 2nd - when putting inside a body strap, the clip makes the transmitter slightly bulkier. If anyone has figured out how to do this safely, please let me know. Thanks.
Cost of this dji mic 2 is estimated on BandH camera site to be $329, not available til March 2022. I admit to being disappointed with the cost. Amazon does not even list this device yet for sale. I love the pocket 2 and the mini 2 drone, but the tiny cameras do have video limits compared to shooting with my Sony A6600. Given how expensive it is AND if it can only be used with the pocket 2 I'm not sure about buying it at this time. I think time will tell and we will need more consumers to be buying and trying out this device. I want the very best video quality if I'm shooting a documentary interview. Thanks for this review. Again, DJI produces such wonderful devices that have fantastic software.
Great 15 hours charge and sound quality. BUT worst charging ever. So many problems online and terrible DJI Mic support. For the price they should provide a charger. DJI Mic manual says need 5V 2 A but online they reply to people who have problems saying need to use 5V 10A. 5V 2A doesn't work and good luck finding a 5V10A charger. Can't find in Philippines in store or online on Shopee so tried Amazon - no luck. Also before someone replies YES my firmware for 2 transmitters and receiver are updated. Also charging box charges AT LEAST ONE OF 4 PIECES CHARGE BUT it never charges the receivers or transmitter and the 3 pieces don't charge when plugged directly into outlet one at a time.

The design aesthetics look so much more "pro" on this DJI vs. the Rode Go II. I'm considering the DJI from your video. Thank you!
So when connected to the camera the video file has the audio from the mic?
Audio quality matters and DJI just made it a lot less complicated.👌
Should i press the record button on the mic whenever i want to record a video?or i can just leave it On?
