One of the things that kinda aggravates me about the community when things like this issue pops up, people will say "The majority of them are working on GTA 6 now" as to excuse the laziness or sloppiness. As if the only person left to work on GTA Online now is some intern in a broom closet. The game has always had issues like this, it's more them not giving shit.
It's a legitimate excuse. Maybe they have learned the players are never happy, always find a reason to complain and the issues are to difficult to fix so they just clean upa bit and focus on 6 so they can possibly avoid the problems from the start . Wouldn't it make sense to slowly phase out the online we've had that y'all only complain about anyways. And hope for a new and better online.

To give you some idea it's not easy to hire thousand of programmers when even some company have hard time hiring hundreds of programmers not to mention the gta v is an old game with spaghetti codes and stuff. That is IT industry my friend the programmers they hire on 2010 is not the same programmers they hire now.
People talented enough to secure a job at Rockstar are incredibly passionate about what they do and it’s probably really difficult to get any of these passionate employess to want to work on a 11 year old game instead of GTA 6. They have a passion for creating games, not working with 11 year old spaghetti code that they barely understand.
I'm not sure if it's a balancing issue, but I'm quite sure it involves laziness. The copying of code should have also explained the insane camera distance from behind the car.
Legit ruins some cars for me. Comet S2, Comet Safari, Cyclone II, and from gameplay the Virtue looks like the same error. Not gonna buy many more of those off-camera cars lol.
I switch my vehicle camera height to low for those cars and high on the normal 1s it all stems from copying and pasting code and being to lazy to go thru the code and fine tune it they can't be bothered
At this point, it's to be expected from rockstar. The wings on half of the cars are broken, mirrors bugged, and then there's the vamos... And they've been that way for years. IMHO, the people at rockstar who actually cared about the end product (or had any idea what they were doing) have all either been reassigned, or left the company, and GTA online is being updated by a bunch of interns who are afraid to change anything for fear of breaking a system they don't understand.

I don't understand why Rockstar has a straight up phobia of ever going back into a vehicle's scripts and changing a few numbers, even when something is broken or rejected by the community. It's so damn easy. 15 minutes of work and a few hours of testing and you're good to go. So many people think there's this mystical aura around this kind of programming that makes it difficult to change without breaking things, but scripts like this are EASY fixes.
The point is to keep the conversation going though. This reskin/lazy development bs is happening everywhere in gaming. And I’m glad theres folks who prefer to not sit there like a deer in headlights just eating up whatever devs throw at them. Its fine if some people wanna sleep it off n not care that much though.
Another addition to the list of cars with buggy armor plating: • granger 3600 lx (missing trim and plating on only 1 door) • champion (armor plating colors don't match) • gunrunning dlc vehicles (heavy armor plating has no collision for rear and sides)
The saddest part about this is that Rockstar won't even bother to change a single word from that one line of code from true to false. I want to use the virtue but knowing Rockstar I might as well forget it exists and keep driving the omnis.

A group of skilled animators and those who had been “Shreked”. This is probably what’s going on with GTA Online. All the veteran developers have been siphoned off to GTA 6.
What since 2013? You're probably right but R* have been lazy AF about bugs and simple fixes for years unless they were to the players benefit then there'd be a hotfix out in days to sort it out, remember the sky screen glitch that just left you watching clouds, or the cargo plane glitch that spawned your delivery plane in buildings, causing it to blow up, potentially costing the players millions, they were both in the game for years there's loads of examples like them as well, but you find way of glitching an outfit you like they're straight on it
This is actually making me apprehensive about gta 6. If they're going to cut corners like this now, they'll probably do the same with 6 to get it done as fast as possible
This DLC was a pretty big disappointment when I got further into it. As soon as I got the mission that involved a cargo plane I just thought, “is this DLC meant for Trevor?”

Considering ron says trevor went vinewood in 2017 pretty much means trevor isnt into the drug/gun business anymore so it doesnt make sense I know you storymode fanboys are high on copium. But michael, trevor and franklins character arcs have already ended. We do not NEED to see them again
I think it's a bit of both but I'm leaning more towards laziness because I feel like even with the armor and the insane acceleration that the Virtue has, I think it would seem more balanced to use throwables since technically it's not bulletproof in any way, shape or form.
As a gameplay programmer I think this is intentional. Gameplay programmers generally code the structure and designers call the last shot. After designer approves, QA employees test the game for bugs before release. If you own GTA on steam go to properties and you will see different branches and different depots for each branch. That's to give access to development team. They build hundreds of builds until they release stable version, so it is very unlikely it was unintentional.
@@lostgps3005 During initial release they were not broken. QA employees won't test all the existing content one by one rather they will focus on the newly added content. Moreover, even though bulletproof car bug is kind of a game breaking bug it had nothing to do with game codes since it was just a convex collision bug which happened during build process.
something thats been putting me off gta in recent years is just how 'similar' all the cars feel now. Theres barely a hairs breadth of difference between the speed of the 'new' (like, 7 year old sports cars' and super cars. they pretty much all handle and feel the same. and, in my opinion, these two vehicle classes have merged in visual design too. i cant really tell the difference between them at a glance like you can with the older vehicles. I guess thats subjective, and im sure its harder to design more and more super and sports cars to the game, as IRL theyre more or less based off previous iterations of the same thing. But to my mind, it all adds up in the end
I've stopped playing GTA Online at the end of 2021/early 2022 and came back a few days ago. I must say I like the changes to businesses being now available in private lobbies and the random encounters here and there and yet I'm not really surprised that something like this happend. R* was always very sloppy when it comes to stuff like this. Or the god-mode glitches. Or the orb spam. Or the modders on PC. On the other hand if there appears to be a money glitch in the game they will ring all the alarm bells and push a fix out asap. I don't think that the onlinemode for GTA 6 will be any different compared to the one we have now except that you probably have to grind all over again to get stuff.
This reuse of code is probably also the reason why the camera is zoomed out so far when driving the Virtue in third person (which makes sense on a big truck like the Brickade).
@@baronbaronowski yes 100% when i first drove the Virtue, the camera angle reminded me of the cyclone II camera angle. The cyclone 2 was released before the brickade so that might be the case.
Only last month the intern in a broom closet working for my firm did the same thing Rockstar done. He copied an Excel macro to produce some forms for a new requisition process for all the departments. The idea was fine in principle except he forgot to remove the part about emailing everyone on the attached distribution list. That was the first time I seen his department receive 5000 complaints.
they've been doing it for years already, look at the adder/nero, 9f/8f, kuruma/sultan classic, entity xxr/mt... it's just that this time they didn't reach too far to copy another car (probably cyclone 2) and instead picked something from this update.
Since the Summer Special DLC *some* of the cars had a few values copy pasted from other vehicles, but in this update more than half of the vehicles are the exact same cars that ones that are already in the game but with a diferent body, sometimes not even that like the Journey II which has the same visual bugs from the regular 2013 Journey and this me has a car guy it upsets me. I've been playing GTA:O for over 6 years ans if the thing I used to enjoy the most are either: A: copy pasted. B: Poorly coded. (Ej; Issi Rally) Then I just don't enjoy GTA anymore. I've been playing GTA V for 9 years. And I'm gonna say this. Every DLC has been the same and the same concept ever since the first Heists update came out in 2014. Minus a few tweaks here and there but the concept is the exact same.
It shows us to tell that whenever they see money glitch on their radar, they patch it immediately without a second though while non-money glitch like god mode is largely ignored.
Multimillion company that had years of ideas is so lazy that they copy-paste things and never bothered test-running things, this is why the modders (those who make lore friendly mods and such) are a lot better then whoever works at Rockstar tbh
Well lets be honest.. not only are they being somewhat lazy, R* is LITERALLY stripping devs from the development and upkeep on gta online to focus on gta6, thats why everything being added seems so lack luster and things arent getting fixed. I think I have high hopes for gta6, we better boycott tf outta them is gta6 sucks
This actually makes sense regarding the virtue and brickade 6x6 because if you notice the third person camera on the virtue you can notice how "Far" the camera is compared to other super cars which tells me they didn't even bother to fix the camera work haha.
I'm always astounded by Rockstar's sloppiness. GTA Online is one of the BIGGEST and MOST PROFITABLE online games EVER! You would think that a game like this would have a dedicated dev team that regularly fixes bugs, addresses community's concerns and ensures everything is balanced. And yet GTA Online has always been a COMPLETE MESS! PvP is imbalanced as hell, most of the vehicles and weapons they add are downright useless while a few of them are ridiculously OP and game-breaking bugs are not addressed FOR YEARS! I can't even count how many times I got stuck in the clouds or in the black screen after entering some property. I stopped equipping flare countermeasures altogether because 50% of the time they don't even work - the missle disappears and then immediately hits you out of nowhere. So many sell missions were ruined simply because the game wouldn't let me drop the create. And don't even get me started on the balancing! They added a giant-a$$ plane similar to real life C-130 Hercules and it's so weak you can literally kill it with 3 explosive sniper rounds from across the map! HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? HOW CAN ROCKSTAR BE SO LAZY AND INCOMPETENT IN HANDING THEIR BIGGEST ONLINE GAME? I'm really worried about GTA 6. I'm sure the storymode will be impressive but if the online mode is handled like GTA Online, we're going to have the most disappointing online game in history!

This update would have been decent if it was a summer DLC and everything came out at once... the casino update followed by the arcade heist a few months later was a good example of how to split it up.
The real problem with oversighting in GTA V is they rarely fix it. The Pariah was missclassed as a Sports when the SC1 was missclassed as a Super. Instead of fixing it, they just started making faster Sports like the Itali GTO and broke the whole fucking class forever.
What I noticed is that, with armor, when you go to shoot a gun for the first time the driver side window breaks. So this is an obvious lazy mistake. The window break mechanic work correctly. You just can throw stuff through it.
Additionally, I feel like it's worth mentioning both the 6x6 and Virtue are unlocked through last dose missions, I feel like this only further reinforces the fact that they just copy pasted the code for each reward vehicle at the end of the acid setup and friedmind parts of last dose
I'm sorry but you are partially wrong Ghillie. The "code"' you show is actually XML (just config files) and it's perfecly normal that both XML for the Virtue & Brickade look the same, show the same tags, the same formatting, identation, etc... BUT you may be right that the dev for Virtue just copy/paste an existing XML and doesn't review all the values and of course no proper quality management / testing so nobody at R* did even tried to throw a sticky from this car, that's a pity because it somehow designed to act like the e-GT !

The doors on the Virtue have no collision too when you open them, your character can walk through it (if walking towards the front of it) Ik other cars have this too, but just something to note.
Simpler question is if the developers were going to be lazy and use cut and paste for the Virtue's mechanics, why did they cut and paste the Brickade 6X6 and not the Omni? Is it just a matter of already having the Brickade file open since they were working on the Drug Wars update and being too lazy to open the Omni file from the Contracts instead?
Every changes R* made recently is getting more worse than ever. -Auto invite now only works in public lobby, if no one joined u gotta switch to other public lobbies. Back then we can invite random from closed session. -Game crashed alot -MOC and Securo Serv mission invite is broken, if u invite ur friend or crew from different session he will automatically get kicked as now u need to be in the same session to start that mission. -U now get separated with ur friend or crew after completing mission instead ending up in same session after loading -Recon drone in cayo heist still doesn't get fixed since contract update, u can't use it even though u own a terrorbyte. -Packie random event still broken even they say it was "fixed" now
Since there is armor on the doors, they probably had to remove parts of the window so that the armor could work. Therefore you cannot throw C4 out because it does not fit between the armor and roof of the Virtue
Not here to hate but if you armorplate a cars doors then you have to add material to it somewhere and attach it somehow. That demands space which is usually occupied by a window mechanism that you have to remove to have space for the armor plating. Those plates are usually from 2cm thick upwards and depending on the construction of the doors you can run into the problem that you cannot fit the mechanism anymore. If you have bulletproof glass then you may run out of indoor space completely. And you cant break bulletproof glas with your elbow so you can throw stuff out. You might be able to shoot it multiple times to destroy it and then be able to throw things out the window but that might be questionable as IRL that is not easy to do neither. What is missing is the weight impact of armour upgrade having no effect on the car (speed, handling, weight..) which I am sort of glad they left out as it would be just too big of a bummer to deal with that as well... considering all the BS that goes on inside GTAV

Like never mind the fact they reused some code for other vehicles, as you mentioned this is to be expected, hell I would most likely do the same... BUT, how brain-amputated do you have to be to copy the armor of something like the Brickade to a bloody supercar!? The omnis EGT or in fact any other Imani-tech vehicle would be the reasonable route to take. Hell if they took the stats from the armored kuruma it would make more sense. And if someone wants to argue that "they copy paste from vehicles in the same update so they had nothing else to..." they had! The 300R! Also an Imani tech vehicle, and not the stupid Brickade! The worst thing about this situation: we have no way to tell weather its a fuck up on their side or an intentional decision for balancing sake, which is also possible. Because do you remember the volatol? The giant flying dorito and the "bug" where it wouldn't beep when you are getting locked on to? Wasn't a bug. It was meant to work that way. What else is there to say, other than: screw you Rockstar
I'm glad I didn't pay anything for this car... And I'm running mine without armor, it survives 3 direct RPG/Sticky Bomb hits which is fine by my standards, considering that the Mk2 mouth breathers misses most of their missiles because of the missile jammer, evading missiles is really what matters the most in freemode, not surviving them.
dont forget the link single pixel below that car that makes it impossible to drive down the drains because it technically hits the water under the ground so it slows down as if its driving in water
This is usually how you know employees are overworked doing 4-5 times the work they shoukd be doing. Its only at places that give me enough room per bug/feature that I spend time using the product and polish it for the user. However, economics today dictate you cant have that many devs or the budget would increase way up. You would need to be willing to pay 120 USD for a game like this to be perfect. But what is unnaceptable for me are the menus on this game, changing, glitching, stuck. And eating snacks with key combinations was programmed by the worst programmer of all times.
Dude the past 3 months gta sold more than 5 millions copies this dlc is played like skyrocket so rockstar are good they working hard on next gta entries
To be fair, it'd be ridiculous for a company to have to entirely write new code for every single car in the game. Imagine if a guy had to recreate the code that allows cars to function in the game every time they add a car. If anything this is just an issue of a guy using the wrong line or 2 of code for the car.
Now idk if it is like this with other vehicles as well (that would require ALOT of testing) but when my friend sits in my Virtue it magically allows it to tank 10 more rockets than what it would have were I myself in that vehicle. Not a HUGE issue because most times we are going to be in our own vehicles obviously. Just thought I'd mention it and yeah that's a very strange situation and only further back up the argument that the R* devs are complete morons 😆 Sad for a game this big and successful...
Definitely an oversight on their part. The whole update shows how lazy they are and that they don't care about the content they're putting out. Not that they ever really have, it's all about money rather than fun. But there's no way it could be balancing, as this isn't even the best Imani tech vehicle with the ability to use throwables, so what were they balancing?
They don’t test anything, any new stuff that comes through is never tested by people who would actually use it in different scenarios, they just add it in the game, see if the game works fine and call it a day, we know that from previous occasions As for if this would be fixed, I don’t think there are chances for it to get fixed like ever, there’s so many examples for stuff that needs fixing (not talking about god mode just about cars here) and very few examples that can be count on one palm of them fixing a vehicle
ghillie i wish i could understand files as good as you, only thing i know how to do is edit weapon dat in gta 4. my mistake was making shotguns 1 hit kills, yeah cops in gta have shotguns. although i will admit in gta v cops with shotguns are the worst, they flank you close range and boom your done instantly unless you have armor to keep that bit of health.
Bare in mind that every new player can obtain this vehicle day one, I think it was intentional because by giving EVERY player a basically free imani tech vehicle that could make sticky drive by's the dominant form of combat in the game, since everyone is guaranteed to have an imani tech vehicle it makes any other form of vehicle combat a little less redundant.
Autoshop Contract replay glitch, dax and franklin replay glitch: patched after 2 days Godmode, broken cars, perma off radar, orb spam: "we don't know what you're talking about"
What ruined the whole update for me was how bad they did with the entity mt. Not only does it have the same slow handling flags as the xxr but the worst part is they didn’t bother to put the actual koenigsegg doors on it even tho we already have those doors on the Furia, it just has regular doors just like the other koenigseggs. This car should have easily been the fastest in the game but it’s another failed opportunity from rockstar.
This is not even programming. It is just a config file which makes it even more annoying that we have to wait for the change and that is assuming they know they messed it up.
Not only it makes no sense how we can’t throw sticky bombs out of the virtue but we have shit ton of griefers in gta and rockstar takes no responsibility to it but when we want to throw sticky bombs out of the virtue rockstar just goes REAL SHIT?
In complete honesty, GTA 5 is the most consistently glitchy game I have ever played. Interactions not prompting. Animation states soft-locking. Sale missions glitching and ruining my sale losing money. Quick eating snacks not working. Phone opening for no reason. Staff sales just disappearing and never giving me my money. Banking, which should track all additions into bank account... just not working. I am constantly frustrated with some weird bug or glitch. Then get infuriated when it seems Rockstar is buying out Google to hide information about these glitches. Like look up most glitches for any other game and you can find a community of people with answers... But with GTA 5, the first few pages are always youtube videos and ads promoting the game instead.
Surely they will fix this in the next weekly update on Thursday idk but knowing them they probably just made it like this cos we can get it free. They can’t give us a free car that takes a couple homing missiles to blow up, can’t be locked onto, is armoured and let us throw stickies nah we can’t do that it’s too much to ask so we will do the bare minimum as always. Lately it’s been so sloppy and lazy from rockstar, idk wether that’s cos they are focusing on GTA 6 too much cos they are bringing it out sooner than we think but even still they should put there all into the games they make wether they have a day left before a new game is out or not.

This isn't just an issue in the vehicles, and designs, it's also mission design. The amount of lazy mission design that I've seen with every damn DLC is an issue. Yes, there is variety to some extent, but most of all, it's wounds down to 1. Go to set target 2. Sneak up to target or into facility 3. Get spotted even though you are stealthy as fuck 4. Die 600 times (exaggerating) until you steal items 5. Die 600 times (again exaggerating) until you deliver items 6. Get raided for items There is no creativity in the mission design anymore, and yes, GTA mission design wasn't vast in other games either, but at least there were different ways you can approach them to finish them and feel smart doing it. There was a sense of creativity in the missions. Now it just boils down to the same kind of mission over and over and over again without a sense of giving player creativity. And it really sucks not only for the online community but also the single-player community who enjoys platinuming games
I'd be annoyed to if it was something important, but it's just a car. They could not have made it armored to begin with, but they decided to anyway. The devs definitely aren't innocent by any means, but the community takes small shit like this too far. The gamers aren't always right.
Most games copy paste weapons & vehicles after initial launch. GTAV has existed for a decade. Ignus & Torero are the same car. It’s not a big deal. It is surprising how few people notice.
I wouldn't be surprised if the developers for this DLC were the same for the GTA Trilogy "Remastered". That being said, it's not balancing or laziness: it's incompetence.
Honestly the only thing that hyped me from this was the new vehicle that could have vehicles inside, l was thinking to put my poket savage from 2017 there, l already have the starling inside the terrorbite and the lazer in the moc

I switch my vehicle camera height to low for those cars and high on the normal 1s it all stems from copying and pasting code and being to lazy to go thru the code and fine tune it they can't be bothered
At this point, it's to be expected from rockstar. The wings on half of the cars are broken, mirrors bugged, and then there's the vamos... And they've been that way for years. IMHO, the people at rockstar who actually cared about the end product (or had any idea what they were doing) have all either been reassigned, or left the company, and GTA online is being updated by a bunch of interns who are afraid to change anything for fear of breaking a system they don't understand.

I don't understand why Rockstar has a straight up phobia of ever going back into a vehicle's scripts and changing a few numbers, even when something is broken or rejected by the community. It's so damn easy. 15 minutes of work and a few hours of testing and you're good to go.
So many people think there's this mystical aura around this kind of programming that makes it difficult to change without breaking things, but scripts like this are EASY fixes.

• champion (armor plating colors don't match)
• gunrunning dlc vehicles (heavy armor plating has no collision for rear and sides)

During the production of the Dreamworks film The Prince of Egypt, underperforming animators were allocated to a secondary project. There was a clear A Team and a B team. A group of skilled animators and those who had been “Shreked”. This is probably what’s going on with GTA Online. All the veteran developers have been siphoned off to GTA 6.

You're probably right but R* have been lazy AF about bugs and simple fixes for years unless they were to the players benefit then there'd be a hotfix out in days to sort it out, remember the sky screen glitch that just left you watching clouds, or the cargo plane glitch that spawned your delivery plane in buildings, causing it to blow up, potentially costing the players millions, they were both in the game for years there's loads of examples like them as well, but you find way of glitching an outfit you like they're straight on it

This DLC was a pretty big disappointment when I got further into it. As soon as I got the mission that involved a cargo plane I just thought, “is this DLC meant for Trevor?”

I think it's a bit of both but I'm leaning more towards laziness because I feel like even with the armor and the insane acceleration that the Virtue has, I think it would seem more balanced to use throwables since technically it's not bulletproof in any way, shape or form.
As a gameplay programmer I think this is intentional. Gameplay programmers generally code the structure and designers call the last shot. After designer approves, QA employees test the game for bugs before release. If you own GTA on steam go to properties and you will see different branches and different depots for each branch. That's to give access to development team. They build hundreds of builds until they release stable version, so it is very unlikely it was unintentional.

@@lostgps3005 During initial release they were not broken. QA employees won't test all the existing content one by one rather they will focus on the newly added content. Moreover, even though bulletproof car bug is kind of a game breaking bug it had nothing to do with game codes since it was just a convex collision bug which happened during build process.

something thats been putting me off gta in recent years is just how 'similar' all the cars feel now. Theres barely a hairs breadth of difference between the speed of the 'new' (like, 7 year old sports cars' and super cars. they pretty much all handle and feel the same. and, in my opinion, these two vehicle classes have merged in visual design too. i cant really tell the difference between them at a glance like you can with the older vehicles. I guess thats subjective, and im sure its harder to design more and more super and sports cars to the game, as IRL theyre more or less based off previous iterations of the same thing. But to my mind, it all adds up in the end
I've stopped playing GTA Online at the end of 2021/early 2022 and came back a few days ago. I must say I like the changes to businesses being now available in private lobbies and the random encounters here and there and yet I'm not really surprised that something like this happend.
R* was always very sloppy when it comes to stuff like this. Or the god-mode glitches. Or the orb spam. Or the modders on PC.
On the other hand if there appears to be a money glitch in the game they will ring all the alarm bells and push a fix out asap. I don't think that the onlinemode for GTA 6 will be any different compared to the one we have now except that you probably have to grind all over again to get stuff.
This reuse of code is probably also the reason why the camera is zoomed out so far when driving the Virtue in third person (which makes sense on a big truck like the Brickade).

Only last month the intern in a broom closet working for my firm did the same thing Rockstar done. He copied an Excel macro to produce some forms for a new requisition process for all the departments. The idea was fine in principle except he forgot to remove the part about emailing everyone on the attached distribution list. That was the first time I seen his department receive 5000 complaints.
At this point Im personally convinced that they only have interns working on the new stuff
they've been doing it for years already, look at the adder/nero, 9f/8f, kuruma/sultan classic, entity xxr/mt... it's just that this time they didn't reach too far to copy another car (probably cyclone 2) and instead picked something from this update.
Since the Summer Special DLC *some* of the cars had a few values copy pasted from other vehicles, but in this update more than half of the vehicles are the exact same cars that ones that are already in the game but with a diferent body, sometimes not even that like the Journey II which has the same visual bugs from the regular 2013 Journey and this me has a car guy it upsets me.
I've been playing GTA:O for over 6 years ans if the thing I used to enjoy the most are either:
A: copy pasted.
B: Poorly coded. (Ej; Issi Rally)

I've been playing GTA V for 9 years. And I'm gonna say this. Every DLC has been the same and the same concept ever since the first Heists update came out in 2014. Minus a few tweaks here and there but the concept is the exact same.

This actually makes sense regarding the virtue and brickade 6x6 because if you notice the third person camera on the virtue you can notice how "Far" the camera is compared to other super cars which tells me they didn't even bother to fix the camera work haha.

I'm always astounded by Rockstar's sloppiness. GTA Online is one of the BIGGEST and MOST PROFITABLE online games EVER! You would think that a game like this would have a dedicated dev team that regularly fixes bugs, addresses community's concerns and ensures everything is balanced. And yet GTA Online has always been a COMPLETE MESS! PvP is imbalanced as hell, most of the vehicles and weapons they add are downright useless while a few of them are ridiculously OP and game-breaking bugs are not addressed FOR YEARS! I can't even count how many times I got stuck in the clouds or in the black screen after entering some property. I stopped equipping flare countermeasures altogether because 50% of the time they don't even work - the missle disappears and then immediately hits you out of nowhere. So many sell missions were ruined simply because the game wouldn't let me drop the create. And don't even get me started on the balancing! They added a giant-a$$ plane similar to real life C-130 Hercules and it's so weak you can literally kill it with 3 explosive sniper rounds from across the map!
HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? HOW CAN ROCKSTAR BE SO LAZY AND INCOMPETENT IN HANDING THEIR BIGGEST ONLINE GAME? I'm really worried about GTA 6. I'm sure the storymode will be impressive but if the online mode is handled like GTA Online, we're going to have the most disappointing online game in history!

This update would have been decent if it was a summer DLC and everything came out at once... the casino update followed by the arcade heist a few months later was a good example of how to split it up.
The real problem with oversighting in GTA V is they rarely fix it.
The Pariah was missclassed as a Sports when the SC1 was missclassed as a Super.
Instead of fixing it, they just started making faster Sports like the Itali GTO and broke the whole fucking class forever.
What I noticed is that, with armor, when you go to shoot a gun for the first time the driver side window breaks. So this is an obvious lazy mistake. The window break mechanic work correctly. You just can throw stuff through it.

Additionally, I feel like it's worth mentioning both the 6x6 and Virtue are unlocked through last dose missions, I feel like this only further reinforces the fact that they just copy pasted the code for each reward vehicle at the end of the acid setup and friedmind parts of last dose
I'm sorry but you are partially wrong Ghillie. The "code"' you show is actually XML (just config files) and it's perfecly normal that both XML for the Virtue & Brickade look the same, show the same tags, the same formatting, identation, etc... BUT you may be right that the dev for Virtue just copy/paste an existing XML and doesn't review all the values and of course no proper quality management / testing so nobody at R* did even tried to throw a sticky from this car, that's a pity because it somehow designed to act like the e-GT !

The doors on the Virtue have no collision too when you open them, your character can walk through it (if walking towards the front of it) Ik other cars have this too, but just something to note.
Simpler question is if the developers were going to be lazy and use cut and paste for the Virtue's mechanics, why did they cut and paste the Brickade 6X6 and not the Omni? Is it just a matter of already having the Brickade file open since they were working on the Drug Wars update and being too lazy to open the Omni file from the Contracts instead?

Every changes R* made recently is getting more worse than ever.
-Auto invite now only works in public lobby, if no one joined u gotta switch to other public lobbies. Back then we can invite random from closed session.
-Game crashed alot
-MOC and Securo Serv mission invite is broken, if u invite ur friend or crew from different session he will automatically get kicked as now u need to be in the same session to start that mission.
-U now get separated with ur friend or crew after completing mission instead ending up in same session after loading
-Recon drone in cayo heist still doesn't get fixed since contract update, u can't use it even though u own a terrorbyte.
-Packie random event still broken even they say it was "fixed" now
Since there is armor on the doors, they probably had to remove parts of the window so that the armor could work. Therefore you cannot throw C4 out because it does not fit between the armor and roof of the Virtue

Not here to hate but if you armorplate a cars doors then you have to add material to it somewhere and attach it somehow. That demands space which is usually occupied by a window mechanism that you have to remove to have space for the armor plating. Those plates are usually from 2cm thick upwards and depending on the construction of the doors you can run into the problem that you cannot fit the mechanism anymore. If you have bulletproof glass then you may run out of indoor space completely. And you cant break bulletproof glas with your elbow so you can throw stuff out. You might be able to shoot it multiple times to destroy it and then be able to throw things out the window but that might be questionable as IRL that is not easy to do neither. What is missing is the weight impact of armour upgrade having no effect on the car (speed, handling, weight..) which I am sort of glad they left out as it would be just too big of a bummer to deal with that as well... considering all the BS that goes on inside GTAV

Like never mind the fact they reused some code for other vehicles, as you mentioned this is to be expected, hell I would most likely do the same... BUT, how brain-amputated do you have to be to copy the armor of something like the Brickade to a bloody supercar!? The omnis EGT or in fact any other Imani-tech vehicle would be the reasonable route to take. Hell if they took the stats from the armored kuruma it would make more sense. And if someone wants to argue that "they copy paste from vehicles in the same update so they had nothing else to..." they had! The 300R! Also an Imani tech vehicle, and not the stupid Brickade!
The worst thing about this situation: we have no way to tell weather its a fuck up on their side or an intentional decision for balancing sake, which is also possible. Because do you remember the volatol? The giant flying dorito and the "bug" where it wouldn't beep when you are getting locked on to? Wasn't a bug. It was meant to work that way.

And I'm running mine without armor, it survives 3 direct RPG/Sticky Bomb hits which is fine by my standards, considering that the Mk2 mouth breathers misses most of their missiles because of the missile jammer, evading missiles is really what matters the most in freemode, not surviving them.
dont forget the link single pixel below that car that makes it impossible to drive down the drains because it technically hits the water under the ground so it slows down as if its driving in water

This is usually how you know employees are overworked doing 4-5 times the work they shoukd be doing. Its only at places that give me enough room per bug/feature that I spend time using the product and polish it for the user. However, economics today dictate you cant have that many devs or the budget would increase way up. You would need to be willing to pay 120 USD for a game like this to be perfect.
But what is unnaceptable for me are the menus on this game, changing, glitching, stuck. And eating snacks with key combinations was programmed by the worst programmer of all times.
Dude the past 3 months gta sold more than 5 millions copies this dlc is played like skyrocket so rockstar are good they working hard on next gta entries

To be fair, it'd be ridiculous for a company to have to entirely write new code for every single car in the game. Imagine if a guy had to recreate the code that allows cars to function in the game every time they add a car. If anything this is just an issue of a guy using the wrong line or 2 of code for the car.

Now idk if it is like this with other vehicles as well (that would require ALOT of testing) but when my friend sits in my Virtue it magically allows it to tank 10 more rockets than what it would have were I myself in that vehicle.
Not a HUGE issue because most times we are going to be in our own vehicles obviously.

Definitely an oversight on their part. The whole update shows how lazy they are and that they don't care about the content they're putting out. Not that they ever really have, it's all about money rather than fun. But there's no way it could be balancing, as this isn't even the best Imani tech vehicle with the ability to use throwables, so what were they balancing?
They don’t test anything, any new stuff that comes through is never tested by people who would actually use it in different scenarios, they just add it in the game, see if the game works fine and call it a day, we know that from previous occasions
As for if this would be fixed, I don’t think there are chances for it to get fixed like ever, there’s so many examples for stuff that needs fixing (not talking about god mode just about cars here) and very few examples that can be count on one palm of them fixing a vehicle

ghillie i wish i could understand files as good as you, only thing i know how to do is edit weapon dat in gta 4. my mistake was making shotguns 1 hit kills, yeah cops in gta have shotguns. although i will admit in gta v cops with shotguns are the worst, they flank you close range and boom your done instantly unless you have armor to keep that bit of health.
Bare in mind that every new player can obtain this vehicle day one, I think it was intentional because by giving EVERY player a basically free imani tech vehicle that could make sticky drive by's the dominant form of combat in the game, since everyone is guaranteed to have an imani tech vehicle it makes any other form of vehicle combat a little less redundant.
If we could go back to old days' combat meta where your worst fear was someone with a zentorno and a sticky bomb, I'd be overjoyed

What ruined the whole update for me was how bad they did with the entity mt. Not only does it have the same slow handling flags as the xxr but the worst part is they didn’t bother to put the actual koenigsegg doors on it even tho we already have those doors on the Furia, it just has regular doors just like the other koenigseggs. This car should have easily been the fastest in the game but it’s another failed opportunity from rockstar.
This is not even programming. It is just a config file which makes it even more annoying that we have to wait for the change and that is assuming they know they messed it up.
Not only it makes no sense how we can’t throw sticky bombs out of the virtue but we have shit ton of griefers in gta and rockstar takes no responsibility to it but when we want to throw sticky bombs out of the virtue rockstar just goes REAL SHIT?
I think they only test for stability/crashes - it's pretty clear they don't playtest or use people that actually like or play the game.
In complete honesty, GTA 5 is the most consistently glitchy game I have ever played. Interactions not prompting. Animation states soft-locking. Sale missions glitching and ruining my sale losing money. Quick eating snacks not working. Phone opening for no reason. Staff sales just disappearing and never giving me my money. Banking, which should track all additions into bank account... just not working.
I am constantly frustrated with some weird bug or glitch. Then get infuriated when it seems Rockstar is buying out Google to hide information about these glitches. Like look up most glitches for any other game and you can find a community of people with answers...
But with GTA 5, the first few pages are always youtube videos and ads promoting the game instead.

Surely they will fix this in the next weekly update on Thursday idk but knowing them they probably just made it like this cos we can get it free. They can’t give us a free car that takes a couple homing missiles to blow up, can’t be locked onto, is armoured and let us throw stickies nah we can’t do that it’s too much to ask so we will do the bare minimum as always. Lately it’s been so sloppy and lazy from rockstar, idk wether that’s cos they are focusing on GTA 6 too much cos they are bringing it out sooner than we think but even still they should put there all into the games they make wether they have a day left before a new game is out or not.
The funny thing is that the Virtue is a 2 door Omnis E-GT, they just had to copy the code from it.

If I’m being honest, R* doesn’t patch anything quickly unless it’s something Shark Card related.
This isn't just an issue in the vehicles, and designs, it's also mission design. The amount of lazy mission design that I've seen with every damn DLC is an issue. Yes, there is variety to some extent, but most of all, it's wounds down to
1. Go to set target
2. Sneak up to target or into facility
3. Get spotted even though you are stealthy as fuck
4. Die 600 times (exaggerating) until you steal items
5. Die 600 times (again exaggerating) until you deliver items
6. Get raided for items
There is no creativity in the mission design anymore, and yes, GTA mission design wasn't vast in other games either, but at least there were different ways you can approach them to finish them and feel smart doing it. There was a sense of creativity in the missions. Now it just boils down to the same kind of mission over and over and over again without a sense of giving player creativity. And it really sucks not only for the online community but also the single-player community who enjoys platinuming games
I'd be annoyed to if it was something important, but it's just a car. They could not have made it armored to begin with, but they decided to anyway.
The devs definitely aren't innocent by any means, but the community takes small shit like this too far.

Most games copy paste weapons & vehicles after initial launch. GTAV has existed for a decade. Ignus & Torero are the same car. It’s not a big deal. It is surprising how few people notice.

Honestly the only thing that hyped me from this was the new vehicle that could have vehicles inside, l was thinking to put my poket savage from 2017 there, l already have the starling inside the terrorbite and the lazer in the moc
I'll be honest with you ghillie I just don't really care at the end of the day I mean shirt would it be nice to use explosives out of a semi fast electric supercar maybe but there's so many options that you could have instead of that car specifically like the omnis EGT but at the end of the day even if it is copy and paste who really cares it's just something small and stupid for us to complain about and then maybe eventually get fixed in the future or maybe it was a decision that they wanted who knows

With they’re lack of care it won’t get fixed until the next major sale. That’s all they care about. They don’t care about fixing or having a solid foundation as long as income is still coming in they’re happy

@Intelligent Engineering that's fair tbh. I just assumed since they r very similar in the files, literally could make it copy paste and have less work than making the Brickade a small car
