i have never wanted a piece of glass more than this. amazing work thank you for this video
Thanks very much.
Wow, I have always liked regular prisms, but this makes them even better!
I agree, ill have to get another one and cut a different design. Thanks for commenting and watching.
This makes me wonder Why Glass jewelry isnt more popular
...too soft for daily wear...
@@jimbuxton2187 what about Swarovski?
@@13579hee yes... you have to be very careful with Swarovski too!
It's like if a diamond tried to pretend to be an opal, so pretty!
yes, i agree.
That makes an awesome gem and nice cut too, very pretty.
Thank you so much. I ordered from ebay. 9.00 for two. They look amazing. I have cut also apache tears, space shuttle leaded glass, and others. I polish with optical cerium oxide. Keep up the good work.
thx, id love to see yours sometime. its great fun isnt it.
That is incredible, mesmerizing.
That’s made a beautiful stone..The colours are fabulous 😀
yes, who would have thought a piece of glass could turn out like that, thanks for watching and commenting.
This is far more pretty than any diamond or whatever gemstone there is lol :D
thanks, they do really pop.
Beautiful! Cut by a true Master!
Beautiful 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Seeing this get turned from a square to a stunning gem 💎 is purely amazing id love one of these amazing
Such nice work :)
Stunning.
So pretty for a piece of glass..i have to try some myself now..nice work
WOW! Stunning cut, Brent. I'm so impressed that I just ordered two pieces @$7 apiece. Thank you for bringing this unusual material to my attention. Your videos are very inspiring, I'll be watching this one several times.
Thank you john, although i didnt orient the cube as in the cellphone pic, the stone still came out well. I would be happy to see your finished stones.
@@tennpikr74 Brent, I have two cubes arriving today (Amazon). I tried to look carefully at exactly how you oriented the cut, but am still not sure. I'll take a pic and send it to you via email. Perhaps you can get my head on straight regarding the orientation you used???
Brent, I got it figured out. (Duh!) My cubes arrived just a few minutes ago, and I compared them to your video... It's clear right now. :)
@@johncrumpley8702 i sent u an email.
great result, thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Good work
I heard about this thru a member of my local Mineral and Gem Society. He's been making these as well. Honestly, my mind is blown on how Bea-u-ti-ful the result is. Absolutely stunning. Thanks for sharing this😎
Thanks very much , yes they turn out very nice. i guess they can be set in jewelry but being glass and its so soft youd have to be careful wearing it. Thanks for watching
I know I'm late to the party and this fad has quietened down but I'm in the process of cutting one now, it's great to see the end result. Definitely appealing with the play of colour like Welo but increased brilliance, thanks for sharing!
great, good to see you trying one. thanks for watching.
😮💎👍
Waooo I love all your video's ...
thanks
🤔 nice 👍
i like those old school ultra tecs.
Yes, they last forever with a little care.
sensacional
I would like to see comparisons done between the various major choices of vertical axis. 1) Through the common join point of all 4 wedges 2) Through the center of opposite faces 3) With the edge between two faces down 4) Through opposite corners 5) From one wedge edge through the opposite wedge edge. These will test all the major possibilities.
I think a round brilliant cut would be best - maybe standard brilliant or zircon brilliant. I suspect that a few orientations will produce better color flashes than does CZ.
Hi buggsy, if you are a facebook member, one of the faceting groups, i think its called faceting technical , the members are cutting this in different ways as you want to see. I think i should have done mine with the x on the girdle area.
i might be able to try some more of this in a few months. thanks for watching.
Good

What a beautiful result. The way it's cut, I think you get some internal reflections from the places where glass meets glass, not just on the frontier between the material and the open air. I suspect this adds to the brilliance. Might also explain what appear to be random windows popping in and out of existence, as some of these internal reflections might be throwing the light onto an escape trajectory. Set into some shiny metal, it might sparkle even more than it already does.
Thanks for commenting. Another gem cutter glued many of them together and cut a gigantic gem , it was really spectaular.
@@tennpikr74 I'll bet. While they're probably not of much value in the traditional gem industry, I imagine they could be pretty popular in the costume industry.
Want this exact stone the others are either too big and too small and very expensive why are they so expensive can you tell like it's glass
I have a couple of these waiting to be cut. What solvent did you use to dissolve the epoxy? I use Attack! and I was wondering if it would damage the glue in the cube.
I didnt use any solvent as i was also worried about damaging the glue inside. I carefully heated the dop stick while trying to keep the stone cool w wet paper. I use an alcohol lamp for the heat.
Oh my LORD! Do you sell these? I guess the Mohs is the same as normal glass so not great for rings but I don't care.... I need this in my life 🥰🥰🥰🥰
yes i sold one not long ago. contact me here is you are interested in one. gemsbymbk@gmail.com
Beautiful ❤ Do you ever sell any of your stones or take custom orders?
please look at the video description for etsy store and contact info.
why did it cut a window? was it this design or the angles not suitable for glass?
Ok youtube time to buy that 50k machine
is this borosilicate?
Hi dear friend.
Thats incredible work.
Whats name of this machine? Can u please say me? Have a nice day.
I use a 25 year old ultra tec machine. New ones are for sale here: www.ultratec-facet.com
laminated dichroic glass with hxtal glue
Do you know if it's borosilicate?
Any idea if this is borosilicate?
I think it is.
I noticed that you used a different machine on this piece. Do you own two machines?
No, i own just one now, the black one, an ultra tec, i like it better than the facetron .
@@tennpikr74 Thank you for satisfying my curiosity. It's good to know such things.
What is the name of the cube on web?
www.amazon.com/Comidox-Defective-Dichroic-Combiner-Decoration/dp/B07B9281WK/ref=sr_1_36?crid=1T9Z58CHUJRQK&dchild=1&keywords=prism+cube+large&qid=1614086668&sprefix=prism+cube%2Caps%2C175&sr=8-36
what the name Heather diamond box
sorry i dont understand this.
Would you sell them?
no probably not, this one ill just keep for my collection.
why dont you like to cut glass? Too low refractive index?
Yes that is one reason although it can produce a nice sparkly gem but mainly there wont be any value in the finished stone, plus it can scratch easily before you even get it finished and chipping is a problem.
@@tennpikr74 Ahh, Gotcha. I'm working solely with borosilicate now, not chipping issues with this COE
I love this but the music in the background is just so annoying I want that so badly
sorry, i cant go back and take the music out.
@@tennpikr74 yes ik it's alryt but remove the music from now on 💖
Same intro song as vintage times... nice try

sadly now days wearing that in public could get you killed lol.....
