- Im cutting a synthetic material called cristinite, here is a description.
After 10 years of research and developement, an innovative Australian company, Advanced Crystallisation technology Pty Ltd has released a new and unique gemstone - Cristinite.
Displaying all the qualities and characteristics of beautiful gems, this newlt created gemstone, Cristinite has proven to be a must have in the collections of all who have seen it.
Cristinite has been examined and cut by expert faceters in Australia, USA, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Korea without exception, they found it to be a wonderful gemstone that facets very easily and polishes to a fine vitreous luster.
Suitable for most jewelry settings, it is tough and very workable, making it an ideal gemstone for both the amateur and profeesional gemcutter alike.
Its general specifications are:
Hardness: 6.5 - 7 Mohs scale
Refractive index: 1.61-1.63
Specific gravity 2,6- 3.6
I sell gemstones in my etsy.com store , my stores name is Gemsbymbk.
I use this website for faceting designs: www.facetingdiagrams.org

I've started completely finishing each tier before moving on. It saves time resetting the machine e over and over.
I tried that for a while i didn't find it any quicker and is far less accurate cause you can't adjust any errors from lap to lap
@@robbot9877 I have tried that method and found the same thing, maybe at times it can be an advantage. Im not against giving it another try.
It is very very 👍👍👍👍can you tell me which lapidary you use for prepolishing and polishing ?i look on your video and doing everything but I use another lapidary but now I want use which you use lapidary
The prepolish laps im using are made by lightning lap company. Im also using their 1200 grit lap which leaves a very smooth finish. The laps are 3000 and 8000 grit . For polishing i mostly use a lightning lap cerium oxide lap.

it would be interesting to see a SRB cut out of the same material to see if it's the design that's making strange reflections or the material. It looks like interesting stuff though I really like the color
Cristinite cuts beautifully. I think it's the design and not the material.
@@mick2689digginhard how you gettin on I haven't been diggin much been spending all my time cutting
@@mick2689 yeah he can cut. you should send him a couple tassie sapphs for him to cut/showoff

Hi. You are making amazing things keep going. And i want to ask you some questions. I really love gem faceting and wanna start it as hobby. But in my country there is almost no market for gemstones and the stones are generally fake or not certified. So its impossible for me to buy or sell gems except online. And the equipment is too much expensive. Is there a way for me to do gem faceting without sucking all my money. At least i need to sell my gemstones. I will be very happy if you can help me. Thanks in advance
You can sell and buy online at the www.etsy.com site and there are machines available from china that are much cheaper tham american ones. Look here: www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2060353.m570.l1313.TR10.TRC2.A0.H0.Xfaceting+machine.TRS2&_nkw=faceting+machine&_sacat=0
I want to learn to facet. I have rough that I have gathered. Any suggestions how to get started? Classes or books?
I suggest both, look for a local rock &gem club , join it to learn, a good book is ametuer gemstone faceting by tom herbst.
👍👍👍👍👍🇧🇷
How long it will take you to completely cut 1 stone?
this one was 10 to 12 hrs.
Does this cut like glass or CZ ?
its a litlle harder than glass , i think 6.5 mohs.
