Luigi wins. For starters, he outstats. Scaling to the meteors from Bowser's boss fights in Galaxy 2, which are the same he used to shoot down Lubba, Luigi is as fast as Starship Mario, which is between 150 quadrillion to over 23 QUINTILLION times faster than light, utterly eclipsing the 300 million times lightspeed Shaggy would cap out at. While Shaggy can temporarily reach Immeasurable speed with a Nanomachine Scooby Snack, he would never get the opportunity to do so as Luigi has a history of stopping his opponents from eating to power up and with his speed and items like the Damage Battle Card, Shock Orb, and Taunt Ball, he can easily interrupt Shaggy by damaging him, stunning Him, or provoking him into attacking. The Taunt Ball served this exact purpose when Dreamy Bowser retreated to eat and heal up. Luigi can temporarily increase his speed advantage with abilities like Zone Speed or items like the Speed Up Battle Card and Blue Pepper, and at his highest cosmological scale where his universe is infinite and using Galaxy 2's Japanese dub where the different worlds are universes, Starship Mario crossing multiple infinite universes would get Luigi to Immesurable speed anyways. Shaggy's 11 Quintillion times universal share of the Zabrinsky Triangle is impressive, but the thing is he is ONLY that strong with the Zabrisky Triangle. I've actually watched the episode, and the Zabrinsky Triangle is a very delicate technique that fails with even the slightest error. Luigi using the Shock Orb, Damage Card or simply attacking normally while Shaggy is doing the intricate dance would cause the Zabrinsky Triangle to fail. Without the Zabrinsky Triangle, Shaggy AT BEST equals Luigi's Universal power surviving the Evil Entity resetting his timeline, but Luigi has plenty of ways to buff his strength beyond what Shaggy can in Multiversus, debuff Shaggy, and can still be stronger. Bowser was more powerful than the full power Megabug, a universe-level foe, and would have made short work of it had it not weakened him with its powers, guidebooks can be used to make Luigi's universe infinite, and any amount of Dream Depot scaling off Luigi's battle with the Zeekeeper and Dreamy Bowser would allow Luigi to simply match the Zabrinsky Triangle if not surpass it. Dream Depot is a collection of every dream that is, was, and will be FOR ALL OF TIME. And while Shaggy may be able to regenerate, Luigi can match that. He can heal off the damage he inflicts with the Vamp Sparks or heal 50% health with the Heal Card and carries a variety of healing items that Bottomless Gloves make infinite (including Star Candies which are a full heal), has unlimited revives with the Gumption Socks and the 1-Up Mushrooms revive him from complete disintegration (touching the dark matter in Bowser's Dark Matter Plant in Galaxy 1) but unlike Shaggy, Luigi can come back from damage to his SOUL. In Super Mario Bros Wonder, 1-Up Mushrooms can revive Luigi from his soul exploding. You can buy 10 1-Ups at once in Wonder, and Luigi has 10 Retry Clocks, essentially giving him 20 extra lives in this fight. (Or 100 if all 10 lives must be burned through before the Retry Clock kicks in). With the Pulser Spark Luigi has another unlimited source of revives with a cooldown, and while the Golden Bones WOULD be another 9 lives they'd be cut short as Polterpup is not super fast so Shaggy could trap him in the Tome of Doom very easily. Luigi can bypass Shaggy's regeneration by destroying his soul as he did Cackletta's and killed King Boo that one time in Paper Jam, trapping Shaggy's soul in the Poltergust, or using the Goomba Card to transmutate Shaggy into a Goomba and stomp him flat to kill him. While the Tome of Doom and Chest of Demons COULD trap Luigi's soul. . . they can be opened up. Simply opening the Chest of Demons releases the spirits within and the Tome of Doom can release the captured spirits. This is problematic for Shaggy as Luigi has summons that can rescue him if he's trapped. Gooigi (who replicated the Poltergust and can still bust Shaggy even if he somehow destroyed Luigi's Poltergust), and from Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope the Oozer, Sqaushette, Scoper, Wildclaw, and Selfie, all of whom can come back unless Shaggy kills their Master Sparks. . . who are made of energy, and Shaggy doesn't have energy absorption or energy draining, so his only way to put them down would be opening the Chest of Demons back up, which could release Luigi. The Retry Clock could also get Luigi out by resetting the fight, and the Power Stars have broken magical seals so they would be able to counteract both the Chest and the Tome. Luigi is more experienced against a wider variety of foes with most if not all of Shaggy's abilities, more skilled, and he has versatility in spades. His Power-Ups give him many of Shaggy's powers and more and with the Bottomless Gloves they are inexhaustible while Shaggy has a limited amount of Nanomachine Scooby Snacks, he can buff himself (including a 10x power multiplier with the Power Star, which trumps Shaggy's power boosting with Multiversus), debuff Shaggy, turn invincible, turn invisible indefinitely (Invisible Badge from Wonder), turn him into a Goomba, stun him, reflect damage, afflict a variety of elemental status effects, STOP time with the Stopwatch, and temporarily shut down his Yellow Lantern Ring. The Ink effect of Luigi's weapons from Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and the Disarm ability of the Oozer prevents Shaggy from using any weapons to attack, which the Yellow Lantern Ring counts as (Sparks of Hope has enemies using a weapon attached to their hand and Disarm shuts them down), and the Oozer's Silence ability shuts off any ability not already in use so it can prevent Shaggy from powering up. Shaggy's Yellow Lantern Ring might also ABANDON him for Luigi. He got it from Sinestro because he inspired greater fear since he and Scooby Doo “scare ourselves silly all the time”, which Luigi also has a habit of doing. . . while also scaring ghosts, the Boos in the first Luigi's Mansion were all terrified of the Poltergust, and every ghost Luigi busts is scared during the capture sequence, so it's possible if not LIKELY that Luigi inspires more fear than Shaggy and as such the Yellow Lantern Ring would leave Shaggy for him. Luigi had a SOUL-ution for Shaggy.
I am going to admit, I wasn't expecting to see arguments for Luigi that blow even Shaggy's out of the water. With all of that, honestly, even assuming that Shaggy scales fully to the triangle at all times, Luigi outspeeds him so badly and has so many ways to incapacitate or trap him that it honestly feels that Luigi could win even if he couldn't physically scratch Shaggy normally.
Hey all. I'm one of the people who commissioned this track. Main reason why I wanted this was when I finished watching Scooby vs courage for the first time, I realized that Shaggy fits super well as an opponent for Luigi and the matchup can be done as either a solid legit one or one of the best joke matchups ever. If you ask me, shaggy should be done after Pac-Man for Luigi return matchups.
I feel like this fight would start the same way Scooby and Courages did, just Shaggy and Luigi running away in terror, and then trying to get the other to face the ghost. Also, I feel like there needs to be at least one small gag reference to their op memes. Even just simple things like Shaggy threatening Luigi by saying “Like, uhh.. I-I’m not even trying man!” And Luigi just standing still for a second and somehow dodging something attacking him from behind would be funny.
I swear I can see the two hugging each other in fear about to be attacked by a boo until Luigi says "this is bad" and Shaggy awakens his brave side by eradicating the boo and turning to see Luigi who is full of ectoplasm and Shaggy says " well, well, well it seems we have a shapeshifter who wants to make me look stupid" and then luigi runs terrified of shaggy starting a chase

Like-a-Zoinks, dude! This commission spooked me, wasn’t expecting this today but I welcome it. A MU I used to hate but now I love after Scooby-Doo VS Courage because I thought Scooby-Doo! always had inconsistent power scaling with the feats across various media but Scourage opened my eyes to this. This MU is surprisingly debatable lmao. I think Luigi can win but with extreme diff given how Shaggy can survive any kind of physical damage & has good durability & attack potency along with arsenal & abilities but Luigi should have him beat in those categories or at most match him in nearly all of them. Rooting both betting Luigi FTW
Lets be honest here, i could see a fight between these 2 being similar to Scooby vs Courage where they are running away from a monster, probably one of King Boo's minions, and the fight would be to determine who actually deals with said minion along with all the kooky antics that would come with a scooby doo chase sequence.
The Connections: - Luigi & Shaggy are both easily scared, lanky and tall main characters, commonly seen wearing green and scream at even the smallest thing that frightens them. - Despite how scared they may come off as, they call upon a lot of bravery when the time calls for it. Being more courageous than most give credit for. Especially when their friends/loved ones are in danger. - One family member in particular that they've known most of their lives (Scooby/Mario) and would do anything to save them. As they have for them. - Most of their more personal adventures involve them facing their fears and coming face to face with the supernatural. (Scooby Doo introducing supernatural elements besides villains in costumes down the line/The Luigi's Mansion series having Luigi face ghosts). - A lot of their adventures involve haunted mansions. - Have been paired with the orange-wearing tomboy of the group (Velma/Princess Daisy). - Both eat foods that give them powers (Scooby Snacks/Power-Ups). - Memes make them very overpowered (Weegee & Luigi Wins by doing nothing/Shaggy using 1% of his power & Ultra Instinct Shaggy).
I find it funny that, on the same day, both Brandon and Therewolf uploaded commissions featuring unorthodox matchups but with classic nostalgic characters that make sense as general crossover ideas and have really good musical potential despite their peculiarity relating to Death Battle-styled animations. Also damn that's a cool track art. Also holy crap that song is good. I didn't really expect much beyond a catchy and cool track that I'd listen to for the review but only once in a while after but that track is genuinely amazing. It perfectly catches that wacky and goofy but also "heroes despite all" feel those two have. It may be because Scooby-Doo VS Courage released last year but I can easily imagine this "battle" being more so one where the both of them are trying to run away from a "monster" and just trying to have the other deal with the issue because they're too cowardly themselves to do it and I really like that dynamic. Another thing I really like is how I believe that there's no direct musical reference (or if there is, I don't recognize them) and that Brandon went for a very unique main theming for the track. It makes it feel all the more unique and more so like the type of song you'd hear in a crossover event between two franchises. And this follows with how singular a lot of segments the track has. There's honestly too many for me to note so I'll stay within a relatively general outlook but for numerous parts of the track it's absolutely overflowing with personality. Like how most of the song has this conventionally goofy and catchy feeling to it but it also doesn't shy away from having more conventionally spooky segments like at 2:12 to showcase how sometimes there are legitimately scary bits in those franchises (or, well, mostly for children but point still stands). Not only does it add to the song's personality and obviously fits the characters and their franchise but it also adds a lot of variety to the song so that the funky segments don't become redundant and get more scale to them. Really like I said earlier I won't go over the whole entire song because I'd just end up repeating myself but I really want to emphasize how much I like how unique the song is. Most of Brandon's tracks definitely have unique segments that stand out but for this track the entire thing feels extremely singular which is great. It does a great job at paying respects to the characters while fitting every side of their franchise. Even something as "simple" as the outro starting at 3:40 is done wonderfully with a melody that's reminiscent of Luigi's Mansion OST but that still feels standalone in how it sounds (and of course sounds very cool). Shows the care and effort that went into the track, something that I really didn't expect upon first seeing the matchup. Overall this song is one that heavily surprised me in the best of ways as said before. I never would have expected something like Shaggy VS Luigi to go as hard as it does here and I one thing that I didn't really mention but that I'm really glad for is that the track didn't play the meme card of including stuff like Ultimate Battle and the like, it stays within the true Shaggy character which I like. There are matchups where meme Shaggy has a place (IE: Matt from Wii Sports VS Shaggy) but this isn't one of them and I appreciate a lot that this card wasn't played here. Instead it favors having a very distinct personality, fitting the characters' core traits and just sounding extremely good as a whole which I think anyone can get behind. Amazing job as always with this.
I had this fun idea where the loser is instantly revived after the fight. Like I could imagine Luigi being guilty that he accidentally killed Shaggy only for the him to reveal he came back because he ate a 1-Up Mushroom earlier in the fight or even before.

I love how not only is this a pretty thematic matchup with an unironically debatable outcome, but the two just have so much to play off of each other, it's kind of insane. Magnificent track! If I were to bet on a winner, I think Shaggy has better chances, but I would certainly not be against another tie in this case. These two are just too lovable.
This is getting really interesting by the day. And I think I know how with it starts *In the middle of the night, a dark mansion in an equally dark forest with its lights on is seen as thunder strikes behind it and a swarm of bats passes by. Inside the mansion, Shaggy Rogers is fearfully looking around the dark halls for his best friend of a dog Scooby Doo.* Shaggy: Scooby? Scooby!? SCOOBY DOO WHERE ARE YOU!?! *Unbeknownst to him, on the other side of the hall is Luigi, also shakily walking backwards as he calls out for his brother Mario.* Luigi: Mario? M-mario?! M-M-MARIO!!! *They soon bump into each other in front of a dark door, leaving them to turn and scream at each other with cowardly fear. But as they calm down, they both heard a chilling laughter, which got there attention not in a good way. Suddenly, a white mist enters the room, before forming into a large, white, circle-shaped creature. With its pointy teeth and gem in the crown, you'd be mistaken to say this was anyone other then King Boo. Boo would reach into his pockets(?), pulling out a framed painting of a fat man wearing red and blue clothes with a mustache and a dog wearing a collar that says SD on it. As the ghost looks at the two green men, replying to them.* King Boo: your next!~ *In response, the two green wearing scaredy cats scream loudly again and then start running away together as the ghost creature begins chasing them* (Can't think of anything else, you people can do that for me)
You know, with almost everyone agreeing that this match would play out almost exactly like Scooby vs Courage, what if this fight actually happens at the same time, and whoever comes out victorious reunites with the dogs outside the mansion? I think it would be pretty cool! You could even take the creative liberty of saying that it was Luigi's mansion all along!

Don’t know who would win this fight, as both Luigi and Shaggy have Universal scaling, with Luigi probably getting a bit higher than that maybe, so I’m gonna go with Luigi, but I wouldn’t be to upset if Shaggy ends up taking it in the end nor no if it ends in a draw like Scooby vs Courage.

Even tho I personally still prefer the revisit of Luigi VS Tails, I also wouldn't mind this alongside Luigi VS Pac-Man and I would really love to see this happen one day if Death Battle were to return.
What a fun one. This should be more equal now that people realize Shaggy and Scoob are as broken as any other toons. I think Shaggy weirdly now takes durability via scoob scaling, whereas Luigi should take everything else unless you actually wanna use Multiversus scaling which could be valid since Warner Bros is pushing that agenda. If not, I still think Luigi takes it but a Shaggy W is not opposed
There's rumor since Smash that Luigi is behind many of Mario's famous glitches, as he periodically helps or hampers him in either brotherly jealousy or courageous hope. As they're both rather competitive. And Luigi did have quite an interesting Final Smash at that point. Goes hand in hand with Sega telling us Robotnik does Sonic's glitches. On the other side, Shaggy is an unsung warrior. He's often offscreen conditioning himself. He has a LOT to work out, and thus has a LOT of muscle and a lot of..... scooby snacks to keep his fury down. In a battle between both though, Shaggy actually conditions himself while Luigi just figures out strategies and tricks to either prank or help Mario. Shaggy has much more fighting experience and could navigate Luigi's glitches eventually.

Luigi wins. For starters, he outstats. Scaling to the meteors from Bowser's boss fights in Galaxy 2, which are the same he used to shoot down Lubba, Luigi is as fast as Starship Mario, which is between 150 quadrillion to over 23 QUINTILLION times faster than light, utterly eclipsing the 300 million times lightspeed Shaggy would cap out at. While Shaggy can temporarily reach Immeasurable speed with a Nanomachine Scooby Snack, he would never get the opportunity to do so as Luigi has a history of stopping his opponents from eating to power up and with his speed and items like the Damage Battle Card, Shock Orb, and Taunt Ball, he can easily interrupt Shaggy by damaging him, stunning Him, or provoking him into attacking. The Taunt Ball served this exact purpose when Dreamy Bowser retreated to eat and heal up. Luigi can temporarily increase his speed advantage with abilities like Zone Speed or items like the Speed Up Battle Card and Blue Pepper, and at his highest cosmological scale where his universe is infinite and using Galaxy 2's Japanese dub where the different worlds are universes, Starship Mario crossing multiple infinite universes would get Luigi to Immesurable speed anyways.
Shaggy's 11 Quintillion times universal share of the Zabrinsky Triangle is impressive, but the thing is he is ONLY that strong with the Zabrisky Triangle. I've actually watched the episode, and the Zabrinsky Triangle is a very delicate technique that fails with even the slightest error. Luigi using the Shock Orb, Damage Card or simply attacking normally while Shaggy is doing the intricate dance would cause the Zabrinsky Triangle to fail. Without the Zabrinsky Triangle, Shaggy AT BEST equals Luigi's Universal power surviving the Evil Entity resetting his timeline, but Luigi has plenty of ways to buff his strength beyond what Shaggy can in Multiversus, debuff Shaggy, and can still be stronger. Bowser was more powerful than the full power Megabug, a universe-level foe, and would have made short work of it had it not weakened him with its powers, guidebooks can be used to make Luigi's universe infinite, and any amount of Dream Depot scaling off Luigi's battle with the Zeekeeper and Dreamy Bowser would allow Luigi to simply match the Zabrinsky Triangle if not surpass it. Dream Depot is a collection of every dream that is, was, and will be FOR ALL OF TIME.
And while Shaggy may be able to regenerate, Luigi can match that. He can heal off the damage he inflicts with the Vamp Sparks or heal 50% health with the Heal Card and carries a variety of healing items that Bottomless Gloves make infinite (including Star Candies which are a full heal), has unlimited revives with the Gumption Socks and the 1-Up Mushrooms revive him from complete disintegration (touching the dark matter in Bowser's Dark Matter Plant in Galaxy 1) but unlike Shaggy, Luigi can come back from damage to his SOUL. In Super Mario Bros Wonder, 1-Up Mushrooms can revive Luigi from his soul exploding. You can buy 10 1-Ups at once in Wonder, and Luigi has 10 Retry Clocks, essentially giving him 20 extra lives in this fight. (Or 100 if all 10 lives must be burned through before the Retry Clock kicks in). With the Pulser Spark Luigi has another unlimited source of revives with a cooldown, and while the Golden Bones WOULD be another 9 lives they'd be cut short as Polterpup is not super fast so Shaggy could trap him in the Tome of Doom very easily. Luigi can bypass Shaggy's regeneration by destroying his soul as he did Cackletta's and killed King Boo that one time in Paper Jam, trapping Shaggy's soul in the Poltergust, or using the Goomba Card to transmutate Shaggy into a Goomba and stomp him flat to kill him. While the Tome of Doom and Chest of Demons COULD trap Luigi's soul. . . they can be opened up. Simply opening the Chest of Demons releases the spirits within and the Tome of Doom can release the captured spirits. This is problematic for Shaggy as Luigi has summons that can rescue him if he's trapped. Gooigi (who replicated the Poltergust and can still bust Shaggy even if he somehow destroyed Luigi's Poltergust), and from Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope the Oozer, Sqaushette, Scoper, Wildclaw, and Selfie, all of whom can come back unless Shaggy kills their Master Sparks. . . who are made of energy, and Shaggy doesn't have energy absorption or energy draining, so his only way to put them down would be opening the Chest of Demons back up, which could release Luigi. The Retry Clock could also get Luigi out by resetting the fight, and the Power Stars have broken magical seals so they would be able to counteract both the Chest and the Tome.
Luigi is more experienced against a wider variety of foes with most if not all of Shaggy's abilities, more skilled, and he has versatility in spades. His Power-Ups give him many of Shaggy's powers and more and with the Bottomless Gloves they are inexhaustible while Shaggy has a limited amount of Nanomachine Scooby Snacks, he can buff himself (including a 10x power multiplier with the Power Star, which trumps Shaggy's power boosting with Multiversus), debuff Shaggy, turn invincible, turn invisible indefinitely (Invisible Badge from Wonder), turn him into a Goomba, stun him, reflect damage,
afflict a variety of elemental status effects, STOP time with the Stopwatch, and temporarily shut down his Yellow Lantern Ring. The Ink effect of Luigi's weapons from Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and the Disarm ability of the Oozer prevents Shaggy from using any weapons to attack, which the Yellow Lantern Ring counts as (Sparks of Hope has enemies using a weapon attached to their hand and Disarm shuts them down), and the Oozer's Silence ability shuts off any ability not already in use so it can prevent Shaggy from powering up.
Shaggy's Yellow Lantern Ring might also ABANDON him for Luigi. He got it from Sinestro because he inspired greater fear since he and Scooby Doo “scare ourselves silly all the time”, which Luigi also has a habit of doing. . . while also scaring ghosts, the Boos in the first Luigi's Mansion were all terrified of the Poltergust, and every ghost Luigi busts is scared during the capture sequence, so it's possible if not LIKELY that Luigi inspires more fear than Shaggy and as such the Yellow Lantern Ring would leave Shaggy for him.
Luigi had a SOUL-ution for Shaggy.

I am going to admit, I wasn't expecting to see arguments for Luigi that blow even Shaggy's out of the water.
With all of that, honestly, even assuming that Shaggy scales fully to the triangle at all times, Luigi outspeeds him so badly and has so many ways to incapacitate or trap him that it honestly feels that Luigi could win even if he couldn't physically scratch Shaggy normally.
I've gotta say, Shaggy is more powerful than I realize.

Hey all. I'm one of the people who commissioned this track. Main reason why I wanted this was when I finished watching Scooby vs courage for the first time, I realized that Shaggy fits super well as an opponent for Luigi and the matchup can be done as either a solid legit one or one of the best joke matchups ever. If you ask me, shaggy should be done after Pac-Man for Luigi return matchups.

I feel like this fight would start the same way Scooby and Courages did, just Shaggy and Luigi running away in terror, and then trying to get the other to face the ghost.
Also, I feel like there needs to be at least one small gag reference to their op memes. Even just simple things like Shaggy threatening Luigi by saying “Like, uhh.. I-I’m not even trying man!” And Luigi just standing still for a second and somehow dodging something attacking him from behind would be funny.
I swear I can see the two hugging each other in fear about to be attacked by a boo until Luigi says "this is bad" and Shaggy awakens his brave side by eradicating the boo and turning to see Luigi who is full of ectoplasm and Shaggy says " well, well, well it seems we have a shapeshifter who wants to make me look stupid" and then luigi runs terrified of shaggy starting a chase

A MU I used to hate but now I love after Scooby-Doo VS Courage because I thought Scooby-Doo! always had inconsistent power scaling with the feats across various media but Scourage opened my eyes to this. This MU is surprisingly debatable lmao. I think Luigi can win but with extreme diff given how Shaggy can survive any kind of physical damage & has good durability & attack potency along with arsenal & abilities but Luigi should have him beat in those categories or at most match him in nearly all of them. Lets be honest here, i could see a fight between these 2 being similar to Scooby vs Courage where they are running away from a monster, probably one of King Boo's minions, and the fight would be to determine who actually deals with said minion along with all the kooky antics that would come with a scooby doo chase sequence.
The Connections:
- Luigi & Shaggy are both easily scared, lanky and tall main characters, commonly seen wearing green and scream at even the smallest thing that frightens them.
- Despite how scared they may come off as, they call upon a lot of bravery when the time calls for it. Being more courageous than most give credit for. Especially when their friends/loved ones are in danger.
- One family member in particular that they've known most of their lives (Scooby/Mario) and would do anything to save them. As they have for them.
- Most of their more personal adventures involve them facing their fears and coming face to face with the supernatural. (Scooby Doo introducing supernatural elements besides villains in costumes down the line/The Luigi's Mansion series having Luigi face ghosts).
- A lot of their adventures involve haunted mansions.
- Have been paired with the orange-wearing tomboy of the group (Velma/Princess Daisy).
- Both eat foods that give them powers (Scooby Snacks/Power-Ups).
- Memes make them very overpowered (Weegee & Luigi Wins by doing nothing/Shaggy using 1% of his power & Ultra Instinct Shaggy).

I can imagine this one beginning similarly to Scooby vs Courage, Luigi searching for Mario while Shaggy calls for Scoob and other friends.
I find it funny that, on the same day, both Brandon and Therewolf uploaded commissions featuring unorthodox matchups but with classic nostalgic characters that make sense as general crossover ideas and have really good musical potential despite their peculiarity relating to Death Battle-styled animations. Also damn that's a cool track art.
Also holy crap that song is good. I didn't really expect much beyond a catchy and cool track that I'd listen to for the review but only once in a while after but that track is genuinely amazing. It perfectly catches that wacky and goofy but also "heroes despite all" feel those two have. It may be because Scooby-Doo VS Courage released last year but I can easily imagine this "battle" being more so one where the both of them are trying to run away from a "monster" and just trying to have the other deal with the issue because they're too cowardly themselves to do it and I really like that dynamic.
Another thing I really like is how I believe that there's no direct musical reference (or if there is, I don't recognize them) and that Brandon went for a very unique main theming for the track. It makes it feel all the more unique and more so like the type of song you'd hear in a crossover event between two franchises. And this follows with how singular a lot of segments the track has. There's honestly too many for me to note so I'll stay within a relatively general outlook but for numerous parts of the track it's absolutely overflowing with personality.
Like how most of the song has this conventionally goofy and catchy feeling to it but it also doesn't shy away from having more conventionally spooky segments like at 2:12 to showcase how sometimes there are legitimately scary bits in those franchises (or, well, mostly for children but point still stands). Not only does it add to the song's personality and obviously fits the characters and their franchise but it also adds a lot of variety to the song so that the funky segments don't become redundant and get more scale to them.
Really like I said earlier I won't go over the whole entire song because I'd just end up repeating myself but I really want to emphasize how much I like how unique the song is. Most of Brandon's tracks definitely have unique segments that stand out but for this track the entire thing feels extremely singular which is great. It does a great job at paying respects to the characters while fitting every side of their franchise. Even something as "simple" as the outro starting at 3:40 is done wonderfully with a melody that's reminiscent of Luigi's Mansion OST but that still feels standalone in how it sounds (and of course sounds very cool). Shows the care and effort that went into the track, something that I really didn't expect upon first seeing the matchup.
Overall this song is one that heavily surprised me in the best of ways as said before. I never would have expected something like Shaggy VS Luigi to go as hard as it does here and I one thing that I didn't really mention but that I'm really glad for is that the track didn't play the meme card of including stuff like Ultimate Battle and the like, it stays within the true Shaggy character which I like. There are matchups where meme Shaggy has a place (IE: Matt from Wii Sports VS Shaggy) but this isn't one of them and I appreciate a lot that this card wasn't played here. Instead it favors having a very distinct personality, fitting the characters' core traits and just sounding extremely good as a whole which I think anyone can get behind. Amazing job as always with this.
I had this fun idea where the loser is instantly revived after the fight. Like I could imagine Luigi being guilty that he accidentally killed Shaggy only for the him to reveal he came back because he ate a 1-Up Mushroom earlier in the fight or even before.

I love how not only is this a pretty thematic matchup with an unironically debatable outcome, but the two just have so much to play off of each other, it's kind of insane.

What a fun one. This should be more equal now that people realize Shaggy and Scoob are as broken as any other toons. I think Shaggy weirdly now takes durability via scoob scaling, whereas Luigi should take everything else unless you actually wanna use Multiversus scaling which could be valid since Warner Bros is pushing that agenda. If not, I still think Luigi takes it but a Shaggy W is not opposed

As they're both rather competitive. And Luigi did have quite an interesting Final Smash at that point. Goes hand in hand with Sega telling us Robotnik does Sonic's glitches. On the other side, Shaggy is an unsung warrior. He's often offscreen conditioning himself. He has a LOT to work out, and thus has a LOT of muscle and a lot of..... scooby snacks to keep his fury down. In a battle between both though, Shaggy actually conditions himself while Luigi just figures out strategies and tricks to either prank or help Mario. Shaggy has much more fighting experience and could navigate Luigi's glitches eventually.
