The list it's too long. The resume is "just listen all their stuff". It's a prodigious vocalist, and the rest of the band it's also really talented and they're mastering their sound really well. One of the most exciting bands of the actual metal scene.
I remember when I watched them live recently....Tatiana was tired. By the end of the concert she skipped some melodic notes and growled instead. Let me repeat that: her growls are her resting voice...😅

There's plenty of women out there that can do the nice clean vocals as well as false chord/fry screaming, but only a few can flip between them as fast and as cleanly as Tatiana
You should check out more of their songs. Perennial live at Wacken, I speak Astronomy, and Teacher teacher. Should also check out the band Unleash the archers "Awaken" amazing female vocalist.
Props to giving the drummer his dues. Everyone talks about about Tatiana's growls, but as drummer, I can say his ghost note strokes are just perfect, I could never do them that cleanly.
I’ve had a lot of questions about this video that haven’t gotten an answer. Because I feel like the album version sounds just like this “live” version. I can barely tell the difference which made me think this is more like a music video than a live session.
@@dutchmastah07 It's the official music video, but it was recorded live. Much like the live footage you get with bands on tour, sometimes. They probably intended on using it for the album, but two birds, one stone type thing.

I watch a lot of these "musician/teacher reacts" type videos. Mike's is the first channel I have actually bothered watching the non-reaction/singing advice videos. To anyone who has even a passing interest in singing, I would highly recommend you check out some of his other stuff.
This is usually the starter for Jinjer kind of like Ghost Love Score is usually the starter for Nightwish. First of all the musicianship in this band is insanely impressive. But Tatiana is absolutely amazing. And I’m so glad you’re doing this band. It gets better. The actual live on stage stuff is the best. It is kind of ridiculous how good they are. And metal now has so many variations. This is a really good one of them.
starter for jinjer yes but i much much prefer tarja from nightwish over floor so i would say one of their most popular songs from their time with tarja was wishmaster and that would be more of a starter from nightwish hell wishmaster even has a parody version which everyone knows you can actually simply riddly diddly into mordor.
Apparently a lot of girls learn how to do this from Melissa Cross who is a vocal coach that specializes in screams. But Tati didn't, she developed her technique herself.
My favorite part ... He paused only once during the entire song to comment and then is literally just astounded. Tatiana is amazing and this guy is awesome.

You've opened the floodgates now. The Jinjer Army makes its way to any and every reaction video. 3 recommendations: As most people will recommend, "Perennial" live at Wacken open air is, no doubt, Jinjer's most impressive live performance. "Teacher, Teacher", much like Pisces, is one of the best mixes of growl and singing. If you'd like more melodic stuff, "Bad Water" is growl-free and also has some of the greatest bass playing among their songs.
Oh, you *definitely need* to react to more Jinjer! The entire band is phenomenal, especially live! I'd recommend two more songs from Jinjer that you should check out: "Perennial (live at Wacken 2019)" + "Teacher Teacher"!

I really like how most voice teachers lack the terminology to define growling (I think Mike used the word growl somewhere in there, but without thinking it was the right word.)
Took me a year and a half to find my voice and learn how to scream properly. Still learning new things all the time. Loved the reaction. Got a huge appreciation for people that keep an open mind, and give the metals a chance. Cheers to you good sir.
I've started describing them to people as Jazz Metal. Musically they're a jazz trio with a torch singer. They've got all these funky time signatures and the drummer does some amazing fills. The musicianship is amazing. Then add her abilities and you get...JAZZ METAL!!
True. I went to their concert when they performed in my hometown in a small rock club for 100 people years ago. I've seen them performing as a support band for Arch Enemy and I've seen them at Wacken. Their performance was always noticeable better and I can't wait to see them live next time.

And of course, you can't really go wrong with Jinjer.
Actually, inverted vocals are more used in things like grindcore and goregrind (think Guttural Slug). What Tatiana does is more vocal frys or false cord growls.

Fede A That’s actually true. Growling is way easier, at least for me, when my voice is strained rather the taking a high clean note.
Absolutely true, but the transformation in most of their songs is not as heavy and "shocking" than in pisces.
She's amazing but this wasn't live and there's a lot of real-time production to her voice.
Tatiana Shmaylyuk has the voice of a perfect angel and the growl of a demon from the darkest depths of Hell. A true masterpiece performer.
Angels can be quite terrifying and daemons quite relaxing.

As most people will recommend, "Perennial" live at Wacken open air is, no doubt, Jinjer's most impressive live performance.
"Teacher, Teacher", much like Pisces, is one of the best mixes of growl and singing.
If you'd like more melodic stuff, "Bad Water" is growl-free and also has some of the greatest bass playing among their songs.

Best reaction to Jinjer Pisces that I've seen. Perennial Live at Wacken is a good next step. Then Teacher,Teacher I Speak Astronomy and Who Is Gonna Be The One.
I really like how most voice teachers lack the terminology to define growling (I think Mike used the word growl somewhere in there, but without thinking it was the right word.)
Took me a year and a half to find my voice and learn how to scream properly. Still learning new things all the time. Loved the reaction. Got a huge appreciation for people that keep an open mind, and give the metals a chance. Cheers to you good sir.
I've started describing them to people as Jazz Metal. Musically they're a jazz trio with a torch singer. They've got all these funky time signatures and the drummer does some amazing fills. The musicianship is amazing. Then add her abilities and you get...JAZZ METAL!!
There are other parts of this album like Beggars Dance, that are unambiguous, straight-up jazz.
I feel like a hint of theatrical is thrown in there as well.
That's a fair assessment. Still Life by Opeth kind of heads downs this sort of path as well - very strong jazz influences in the music.

Jinjer perineal live at wacken 2019 showcases her and why she’s on top
True.
I went to their concert when they performed in my hometown in a small rock club for 100 people years ago. I've seen them performing as a support band for Arch Enemy and I've seen them at Wacken. Their performance was always noticeable better and I can't wait to see them live next time.
Literally all of the "Pisces/jinjer" videos reactions are the same, but they NEVER get old!! Great reaction and we would love to see a reaction from your wife and kid! Cheers!
I was waiting for this reaction so bad. So, since you loved Nightwish, Jinjer and you are diving into the metal music field, I would love to wacth some vocal analysis of Wintersun - Sons of Winter and Stars (Live rehearsal at Sonic Pump Studios) and Gojira - Global Warming (Live at Silver Cord Studio) and Arch Enemy - Nemesis (live in Tokyo).

Actually, inverted vocals are more used in things like grindcore and goregrind (think Guttural Slug). What Tatiana does is more vocal frys or false cord growls.

I think you should check out a band called The Hu. They are a Mongolian Metal band that mixes traditional Mongolian throat singing, traditional Mongolian instruments, and blend it with modern Metal.
