Shes almost fully opening her vocal chords very low and using her diaphram to power that sound. Shes actually barely using her vocal chords and thus doesn't strain them to sing whens she's growling. Watch her neck when shes screaming. You don't see the veins distending like when you see most vocalists straining their vocal chords to scream. She has incredible talent and technique. Also the while she is the most upfront aspect of the band, the other members are ALL breath taking musicians in technique and writing.

The videos "Perennial Live at Wacken Open Air" and "Captain Clock live at Resurrection Fest" are both really good live performances from her. Basically both are five minutes of Tatiana flavored girl power. Another good one is her Judgement and Punishment one take vocal. Pit of Consciousness live is good too. There are a lot more but those are a good start.

    Awesome! a 3-fer!!! Tatiana always steals the show, but the band is just so tight and off-beat in their playing - it really is a sound unto itself. I just adore seeing the joy and confusion on peoples faces when they encounter Jinjer. They have some really hard, agressive songs and some more mellow songs as well. The ultimate experience is seeing them live - at least in a video. Want another 3? Check out;
    Perennial - Live at Whacken

Yeah, Jinjer plays around with timings a lot. Took me a bit to get used to that, at least in their more complex songs, but now I feel I'm addicted to it. Standard timings and sound structures feel just boring now. First world music problems I guess.

agree, the closest thing to technical metal is Classical music. Vlad, the drummer is a classically trained pianist, that wrote most of the songs on this album, a lot of people don't realize the complexity in extreme metal and just discard it as screamo angst trash, but in reality, it is the most expressive and technical form of music.

Hi @@Inferiis . I do get your point but.... both Floor Jansen and Simone Simons have had similar Classical and Operatic training but you'd never not call either of them a "Metal" singer. I know it's because Tarja tends to stick to the operatic approach where as the other two have a much more varied approach to their Metal vocals, but Tarja has been singing in Metal bands for more than a quarter of a century, whatever her approach to say she's not a metal singer..... well ya know, interesting debate😀

Jinjer are a band from the Ukraine, they are:
    Tatiana on Vocals,
    Roman on Guitar,
    Eugene is the Bassist,
    Vlad is the Drummer.
Other tracks to check out by them are: 'Perennial' live at Wacken open air festival 2019, 'Judgement (and Punishment) Tatiana's one-take vocal version, 'Who Is Going To Be The One' live, 'I Speak Astronomy' the official video, this is an older track with their pervious Drummer, Dimitry, he had to leave the band due to a back injury, 'On The Top' and 'Pit Of Consciousness' both live in Kiev. There's another track to check out too, 'Home Back' the official video, this is a protest song about the conflict in their homeland, when Putin annexed the Crimea and the Donesk region of the Ukraine in 2014 where they used to live, they moved to Kiev/Kyiv for safety.

the most amazing thing about this band is how are they not one of the most famous bands in Rock/Heavy Metal playing right now? The talent is undeniable, the music is fresh and they have their own unique sound in a world of processed audio mush, and her frontpersonship performances are truly entertaining at a masterful level. They kill it live, in the studio and they go out of their way to support building their fan base through non traditional means like supporting reaction channels, doing tons of interviews and their tour schedule (when Ukraine isn't being invaded) is jammed packed with dates and venues. It is only a matter of time before they reach the top where they belong in the music world.
I love their tracks, Outlander, Ape, & Cloud Factory as being just energy filled gifts to be listened to absorbed and the energy applied as you see fit. Who needs coffee when you have Jinjer?
Given your background, I would strongly suggest Beggar's Dance...you won't be disappointed

Great reactions young lady. You're not a "loser" trying to figure out and react to metal music LOL 😄😄 Jinjer is a phenomenal band, Tatiana gets the most attention because of her incredible vocals, but the guys, Eugene (bass), Roman (guitar), and Vlad (drums) are equally phenomenal, they compliment each other perfectly. I had the pleasure of seeing and meeting Jinjer last October in Los Angeles, the concert was pure 🔥🔥🔥 and they were some of the nicest, down to earth, and humble human beings. It's funny because when I was talking to them, I told them how excited I was to see them perform for the first time, they each told me thank you, and Tati told me, "I'm excited too, and nervous" I told her nervous? why? you've been performing for a long time. She told me that no matter how many times she performs, she always gets nervous before a show, you definitely wouldn't know it when she hits that stage. Hopefully you'll react to more Jinjer, you definitely need to see a live video, I'm going to suggest Perennial live at Wacken open air 2019, I also think you would really like Wallflower (OMV), and I Speak Astronomy (OMV) But then again, every Jinjer song is fantastic, at least in my opinion. Keep up the great reactions, and as always, stay Metal young lady. 😊😊🤘🤘🤘🤘🎶🎶🎶

Wow, 3 songs - you're spoiling us. :) Fun reaction and you are in good company with your enjoyment of Teacher Teacher. Lots more from them and I can't recommend watching them on stage highly enough. Wacken just released a video of their performance of one of their few love songs called I Speak Astronomy that is all nerdy astronomical double meanings, which Tatiana wrote as a call to the universe to find someone she's mentally and spiritually compatible with. Perennial from the same show is also great. Too many more awesome stage show videos to list them. I've seen them twice and was even more impressed by the reality. They are still an up and coming band playing intimate clubs, so if you get a chance to see them (after the war is over and hopefully they all make it through okay) it would be very well worth it. One of their most important, even before the war is Home Back, an anti-war song based on their experiences when their hometown was caught in the 2014 war which forced them to move to Kyiv. It speaks powerfully for the millions of ordinary people caught in every war. Tatiana is in the US with husband Alex Lopez of Suicide Silence, but the guys are in Kyiv doing what they can to raise money to support their nation, and in line for mobilization though without military backgrounds they are at the back of said line. Subbed. Cheers!

I'd say that Spiritbox has a more industrial-progressive metal sound, whereas Jinjer is more of a metalcore-groove--progressive metal sound with liberal doses of jazz & reggae (& many other) influences. The more old-school Jinjer sound (based in drums, bass & guitar only) makes them seem heavier to my ear as well.
Either "Perennial" or "I Speak Astronomy" (both Live at Wacken Open Air 2019) will give you an excellent feel for how amazingly proficient Tatiana is at switching vocal styles on the fly. "Judgment & Punishment" One-Take Vocal gives you a great close-up view of Tatiana while she seamlessly shifts between reggae, metal belting & growling vocals in a true one-take with minimal effects. "Home Back" (Official Music Video) is an incredibly powerful & creative anti-war song & video inspired by their experiences during & since the 2014 annexation of Crimea & conflict with Russian-backed separatist militias in eastern Ukraine.
I enjoyed your reaction & subscribed. I like to learn about the reactions people with different music backgrounds have to Jinjer's music because I always learn something new.

Tatina is vocal perfection is she is changing minds about metal. So much talent in this band and a few others like Twelve Foot Ninja which go largely undiscovered in a sea of mediocrity swelling with talentless pop and rap artists repackaging the same tired, immature crap. This is raw, emotional, powerful, and vulnerable composition, playing skills and vocals that evokes a visceral reaction that transcends sound alone. Thanks for being open minded to the greatness that is Jinjer!!!

I've never cared for harsh vocals, male or female, because they didn't sound good or they all pretty much sounded the same to me: just screaming for the sake of screaming without the purpose of fitting the music. Courtney and all the female screamers that existed before are included in that group. Until one day I found Gojira (male singer, Joe Duplantier) and Jinjer. They're the only two bands with harsh vocals I listen to because they're not any of the things I pointed out above: their harsh vocals are melodic, dynamic, they fit the music and above all, they're understadable and pleasant to hear.

100% agree.. both bands manage to be heavy, but somehow not at the same time.. it’s all about the melody

A little backstory: Jinjer are from Donetsk in Ukraine. They only really started blowing up when war in 2014 basically forced them out of their city and they started touring all the time. Tati (the singer) lives in the US now with her husband, but the rest live in Kyiv, and war eventually followed them there. I don't normally like listening to music that switches time signatures a lot, as in this song they're constantly switching between 4/4, 7/8, 6/8, and what I call '8/8' (when you are basically playing mismatched measures of 4/4). However, Jinjer makes it work for me sometimes, and they do seem like wonderful people. And they are bitchin' musicians.

    Teacher Teacher is my favorite.
It has a great balance of clean vocals and grawls with seamless transitions.
They are so skilled. Tatiana is unbelievable. So captivating
Each song is very different and cool in its own way. Especially once you understand the meaning behind the lyrics. Suggest Perennial live at Wacken. Her stage presence is amazing.
I really hope the band members still in Ukraine are able to remain safe and this unjustified war on their country is over soon. Far too much death and destruction.

Welcome to Jinjer, they are amazing. They never stop surprising you how great they are. And of course Tatina is a godess. You really need to hear them live. If you want 3 more, try "Perennial" Live at Wacken Open Air 2019, " Pit of Consciousness" live in Kiev, and ""Captain Clock" live at Resurrection Fest. They constantly make metal fans out of non-metal listeners.

And, 3 of their videos (Perennial would have been a good one to watch as well;) in a row-(first time I've seen that!)- fair enough to give them a chance to "draw you in" ;))! Bravo! Good luck with your channel, Beautiful Lady😉😊!
