My first Tesla is my one month old CT. As a newbie, my mind was blown when I drove it home from the service center and as I learn more about EV life, the experience just intensives with each discovery. It is a carrier aircraft launch into a whole new world. Before I retired 6 years ago, I had been deeply immersed in high tech IT (both hardware and software) for a major aerospace company for 43 years. That exposure may have given me an appreciation for what the future might bring, but the rate of advancement is astonishing. Now, experiencing my CT with FSD for the first time, I have been catapulted into my own Michael J. Fox “Back to the Future!” moment! Incredible, to say the least. The Tesla people who have pulled all this into a deliverable product are a special breed. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I got the FSD last night, and drove to DFW airport to drop off my friend. Surprisingly, when going through the toll gate, FSD would follow the cars in front then stop and wait for the gate barrier to lif up, all without human intervention, very cool.

I tested FSD 12.5.4 on my Model Y and it is amazing. Very smooth, polished and smart. FSD 12.5.5 on the Cyber Truck is still a bit rough around the edges. I tried it last night right after the update and it didn't always choose the correct lane and was a little rough on stopping and turning. Needs work, but for a first release it is pretty impressive and I can't wait to see FSD on the CT 6 months from now. I think the current release might be great on highways and long trips more than city driving. All in all, the CT is a groundbreaking vehicle. I think the geometric design throws off most people that don't realize that the revolution of this vehicle is the software not the stainless steel.

Another RUclipsr taped over the front bumper cam for a FSD CT drive to "confirm" FSD isn't using it. Maybe to make the vision model training more in line with the rest of the fleet? very interesting video !! Elon said the Tesla is the worlds first mass scale autonomous robot and Tesla is proving it. Tesla is absolutely nailing the integration of In car processing power with they're supercomputer processing centers.

Sweet! Aside from just general how-to, the only thing I’d say is make sure you are ready to intervene at any time and when you need to intervene push the voice button and leave a message for Tesla telling them why you intervened, and also you can nudge it to do what you want quicker by tapping the accelerator without breaking out of FSD which I talked about a bit in this video. Other than that, enjoy the ride!

Yea the turning isn’t perfect for sure. I used it last night at midnight after my update and a car came up to a stop sign and as I turned it cut the turn fairly edgy and I felt I was going to potentially run over that car. Also today driving the kids to school i turned and the truck seemed like it cut the turn a bit much which almost felt like it was going to hit the curb and it kind of jerked the wheel a few times to make sure I didn’t. That wasn’t a great feeling turn, certainly bugged out.

@@ChicagoTechGuy yes I’ve had the same experience. The turning is very off compared to the smooth turns on the other models. I expect we’ll see a pretty quick hot fix on it.

@@skylerity Drove it again tonight. Only a couple issues.
      1) It took the wrong lane to merge onto a highway instead of going through the light and turning immediately left. This is a tricky one that a lot of drivers usually screw up as well.
      2) It stayed in a right hand lane instead of moving to the left to go straight. I had to intervene.
So yeah, it's not there yet, but it's so much more relaxing to drive. It's amazing at highway driving right now, with some issues in the city. Can't wait until it's 6X better in a few weeks!

@@skylerity governments of all stripes here seem very tentative on some issues, particularly on the issue of safety - or worse, being seen as not caring about safety. So a government that let this tech on the road, and if that tech was considered the cause of serious injury, the media would taste blood in the water. However, there is a framework being developed which will hopefully come into effect in 2026-2027 which will cover this tech although I guess it remains to be seen what riders are in that framework.
