As sad as this is, a lot of people have been through it and worse. They don't go killing people.
And... some do. People need love & guidance. People do messed up things for their own reasons, but at least there's always a reason to break down and infiltrate with correct thinking and feeling. More hatred does nothing but encourage hate. Hopefully that's obvious.
We don't need a lot of people to have the same worst messed up reactions to life in order to be concerned for the reasons behind what opens doors for and encourages these actions.
True, but prisons are also full of people like this ~ born to troubled people like Brenda was.. Trouble breeds trouble.
Unfortunetly all that passes into the baby... The baby starts its life craving drugs
Every head is a different world.
There are so many people who have had rough upbringings. After 30 years teaching, I have seen horrific things happen to kids. He knew what he was doing!
Most children who have his background do end of going in and out of jail and cause a lot of pain for many others.
Just because they don't shoot up a school isn't a big deal.
They usually just kill a couple of people then spend the rest their lives in prison regardless.
@@eh1702 it doesn't matter what excitement he did or didn't get or if he couldn't see past the act of murdering all those people. He did it. He deserves the harshest sentence that the law will allow.

Silly comment.
And exactly what does any of that have anything to do with his choosing to kill kids? - There are many kids out there from homes as bad as his and they most likely haven’t murdered anyone.
yeah i dont understand the relevance of this
This is what defense you use when you don’t have a defense.
They’ve gotta try anything to sway the jury one way or another. Kinda tough to do when your client decided to be a school shooter.
They're trying to say he has diminished responsibly due to the effect his mother's drinking had on him developmentally.
Well he has mental issues because of his mother
He was conceived, grew, and born from a polluted womb. Nicholas did not have the proper nutrition to have a healthy body or brain. He was doomed from conception.
Usually I have a lot of compassion and empathy for people in general but I can’t bring myself to feel that for him. He’s caused so many people insurmountable deal of griefs and pain. There’s no other judgement but life in prison without parole.
You can have compassion and empathy for someone and still believe they need to be held accountable for their actions.
I was really wanting the death penalty. Knowing what I know now, LWOP is sufficient, as long as he doesn't kill anyone in prison. He's a risk. He absolutely would've killed the corrections officer if he had the chance.
He meets several of the criteria for the death penalty in Florida. I don't think he's going to get life.
That might be what this was designed to do but the takeaway for me is that parents are effing up the kids, and something needs to be done about it.
That's the way I see it.
Why Life in prison? He’ll enjoy it
So sad for that girl as a little girl...
I wish I could of adopted all of them . She seems so distant and lacking love . I wish Jesus could wrap his arms around all of them . I would even take her to the movies / dinner . She deserves so much more
No matters what bad his childhood was... What he did is so wrong and he knows exactly what he was doing! He made videos about all the pain he wanted to made to those poor peoples... In purpose! I have no compassion for him. My compassion and my heart goes to the victims, the survivors and their families 🙏
I agree. He was heard laughing as he was shooting these poor young people. In addition, he went back and shot Peter & Joaquin again, obliterating their heads. Then he went and bought himself an Icee because shooting up innocents made him thirsty.
@@makesmewonder6497 Thank you for your comment! He is evil. Poor Peter and Joaquín 😢 That murderer wanted they dead😭

“The murderer wanted they dead.”
SAY WHAT?
Facts
My mom kidnapped my siblings and I from my father and made us run off with her new husband. (I didn't find this out until last year while accidentally walking into my father's family on the sidewalk 1000 miles away). My stepfather was abusive for 10 years and I moved out at age 15. In the process of hiding us from my father and his family we moved to 7 different schools and lived in 10 different homes. Neither myself or my siblings decided taking it out on everyone else was the way to solve our problems. I've seen the worst of what the world has to offer and I can't stand when people use it as an excuse. Yes, there is ptsd and psychological trauma that can alter the way one functions as a human being, but this guy knew what he was doing, planned what he was doing, made videos about what he was going to do, and was quite sane about his intentions... even warning a student on his way into the halls. His upbringing should not excuse his behavior.
So well written. So happy there are epic people like you who have the guts to tell it like it really is. You’re an example of how it’s done.
@@margieloesch1497 Thank you ❤
Ya he deserves no leniency, he could have taken his pain and turned it into something Beautiful but he did the exact opposite!
This isn't about you. It isn't about excuses. Context is important - he is guilty. This is about his life and the sentencing.
@Boston Gal They are using all of those reasons... from the womb to his up bringing. In fact I believe he started out with a public defender until someone found out how he had PLENTY of money to afford a lawyer.
I do genuinely feel compassion for this woman and her siblings. They never had a chance it seems. Neurodivergent children need a lot more care than most parents are able to give.
@Boston Gal This is his biological half-sister.
@@GC2024_ nik is also her half brother
Bio related, same Mom, different Dad's. No adoption.
Yes exactly this! The neurodivergents are also prone to acting out stuff they see on tv/social media, way passed the age at which a normie would be expected to stop. His mind was not being protected. Sure he got the special ed, but nobody looked after his mental health, self esteem. His internet searches were like something a young kid might make. He was stuck in a fantasy world but guns and violence were show cased all around him in the real (and gaming) world, and he was able to access them. Then the death of his parents 😪 the nail in the coffin
His goal was to kill as many people as he possibly could in under 10 minutes. I can’t feel bad for him for even one second. There are people who go through way worse and don’t do anything like this. We all make our own choices. We need to stop with this nonsense of blaming something for our terrible choices.
I agree with you. There is no excuses for what he did. He did it on purpose to inflict the most damage he could.
I hate how NC is so captivated by his sister’s testimony, but he couldn’t bother to raise his head to listen to the testimony of the families he destroyed.
I love it. Goes to show he's suffering
Regardless of your upbringing you don’t have the right to kill.
True. Killing is a sin
He wasn't raised by her. He was adopted by a wealthy family that treated him well. It was his body that his mother mangled.
I feel empathy for this woman and all the children. But he still committed a very premeditated Massacre of innocent children and teachers. The Jury will decide.
Debra you need to search the medication side effect of "homicidal ideation" & ask yourself if there is any difference between it & "premeditation" other than in premeditation you would have control, but homicidal ideation you do not. What did Christ say as he hung on the cross speaking of those taking his life? "Father forgive them!" Why? "They know not what they do!" To know that you would need a brain scan taken at the time of the shooting to see if there was enough conscious thought to do that. Sadly law enforcement are decades behind in relying on blood tests which does not necessarily tell you what is going on in the brain!
I hear you. Many of us have had terrible childhoods but that does not give anyone the right to hurt others and certainly not to commit a carefully planned cold-blooded mass murder of innocent children. I lost my son and all I can say is that it's like a never ending nightmare of brokenness multiply that by 16 mums not to mention the fathers. Never the same again. Aged before your time.

Reading the comments I find it interesting how some ppl always find excuses for the terrible behaviour of a certain segment of the population but when it comes to another segment they're not as sympathetic.
In those cases they label those whole communities as the worst of the worst "as expected" bc that's what they grew up listening to in their surroundings and want the full extent of the law to be applied.
Yes, this is one dysfuntional family but so are others in other communities. That doesn't mean this one should be spared while others should be thrown to the lions.
Let's be consistent with our principles.
Because we are sick and tired of hearing how everything that those other communities do is our fault. We are tired of the special privileges that those other communities get. We are tired of the fact that we must never say anything to offend anyone from those other communities. Finally, we are sick of the fact that we owe reparations to those other communities. There, got it?
