They don't "force" these kids to testify-they talk to them and explain that while the video evidence alone is probably enough to charge the guy, their physical testimony would help the jury come up with their verdict. If you think about how many kids were there when this happened vs. how many are testifying, it's a pretty small amount. They choose to testify and submit their evidence knowing they are speaking for their classmates who did not survive and that is probably what helps them through it. Plus, I imagine seeing the shooter be punished and put away for what he did may help the healing process.

When I first heard about the shootings in 2018, my body & mind went into shock. To think a crazed gunman would murder 17 innocent lives & for what?? His plotting of & carrying out this abysmal act of violence is irrehensible. So many others who were wounded, the grieving families & friends, will have to live with the memories of this henious act forever.
Watching this now, the fifth day of the Penalty Phase Trial, I want to commend the former students who came forward to give testimony. It must have been extremely difficult for them to do so, but at the same time, brave of each to do this. Their words painted a very vivid picture of what they went through on that horrendous day. At the same time, I hope it has been cathartic for each of them. May God Bless them all.
The now 23 year old who carried out this unfathomable attack, must sit in the Courtroom every single day & in graphic detail, be reminded of the lives that he extinguished & those he has harmed for eternity. My only regret is for the families & friends gathered in the Courtroom, who also have to hear these details.
This Coward who carried out this crime against humanity, has shown his true colors. He sits there at the Defense Table with his head hanging; focused on the table. He doodles away & never looks up to look at anybody whether it's on the Witness Stand or within the Courtroom. I hope that he feels that ALL eyes are fixated upon him. He is NOT human. (only in context)
After weighing all the facts from this week & also the history of events from 2018, the pros & cons of the Death Penalty, I feel his just penalty is as follows:
Life In Prison with NO Parole vs. Lethal Injection.
He plotted these murders for a long while. His goal was to murder as many teachers & students that he could. He entered the high-school with an automatic rifle with enough ammunition for a war. His intentions were quite obvious. He wanted to inflict as much horror & damage towards the students & staff that he could muster. He had a hunger & thirst for "the kill". He deserves to receive: 💥The Death Penalty💥 Any sentence below that would be a travesty of justice. Since he made public how he ".....hates God & Jesus but worships the Devil👹.....", then he will relish the thought of joining Lucifer. That's NOT why I chose the Death Penalty. I went by the totality of the evidence to come to my conclusion. This Coward could sit on Death Row indefinately with the Appeals Process, but.....he could decide to WAIVE the Appeals Process & have the Death Sentence carried out exponentially.
💖May God Bless the victims, families & friends from this tragic event💖

I believe that the least we can do is be kind to our fellow human beings because life is so short and we're all trying to survive and get the most out of our time here. To willingly take another life is nothing but pure evil and the punishment should automatically be death if there's bo doubt of guilt. Maybe people would think before they commit such tragedy. No life in prison because people adapt to their surroundings and create their new life in incarceration. Waiting on death row isn't as cushy as being in general population but again, people adapt and they still have life. Immediate death in cases that guilt is irrefutable and there is zero chance the person was wrongly convicted, because wrongful conviction does occur, Immediate death might cause a decrease in these animalistic acts.
