Hey SPN, I got a story for you....
I did months of research and multiple range trips renting pistols to decide on a new edc. I finally decided on the original p365. It felt good in the hand and shot very well for its size, and on paper everything fits the bill. I knew there was some quality control issues when they were first released but I was hoping that they were solved. So I made the jump and bought one of my own from Bass pro.
Bass pro doesn't let you dry fire because all of their triggers have locks on them. But hey, I didn't need to test the trigger I've shot it a few times already and I knew what I was getting into.
I get home later that day and open up the box and take off the trigger lock. AND THE TRIGGER WAS WIGGLING AROUND LIKE A LOOSE TOOTH READY TO FALL OUT!
I opened up the pistol and checked out the FCU and would you believe it? THE TRIGGER SHOE PIN WAS NOT EVEN THERE!
I was so upset I was beside myself…
How did it leave the factory like this? And how was it not noticed by the person putting on the lock at Bass pro? That's a double QC issue to me.
Bass pro has a no refund policy so when I brought it back they said they would send it for free to sig to have it checked out. I actually live about a half an hour from the sig facility in New Hampshire so I decided to go for a ride and take it to them in person.
They were rude, but the tech did fix the gun and put a couple rounds through it in the range to make sure it was functional.
You think maybe they would do that before they sent it out huh?
I went to the range that evening and put 200 rounds through it, mostly rapid fire and it ran great. Not one hiccup and by the end of the session I was very satisfied and glad that I got it fixed.
I went home, cleaned it up nice, and practice some drawing and dry firing. Then I shut the lights off to practice in the dark and guess what? THE FRONT SIGHT WAS NO LONGER GLOWING!
The next day I went back to Bass pro and made a huge stink to the manager until she agreed to buy the gun back off of me. Praise God I got my money back. I want nothing to do with sig anymore and I should have known better.
What a nightmare that experience was.
At the end of it all, I decided on the Beretta APX series of pistols because they're cheap, comfortable, reliable, and built like tanks.
If you made it to the end, thank you for listening to my story and God bless.

The owner sent the pistol and footage to Sig and they said it wasn't their fault, but the ammo companies and he could pay Sig 1,000 for a new gun.
When he declined and asked if he could get his gun back, Sig said 'No' and when he asked for an engineer's report so he could show it to the ammo company and get them to replace/reimburse Sig started copping an attitude like the owner was some kind of scammer.

My current PD issued the 320 and i carried it for three years with no issues. Our admin was having issues with Sig customer service to the point where they sent them all back. Considering our Chief came from a department that carried Sigs for years it was a big deal, and we went to the Glock 45s. While I was okay with the 320s, most my Sig experience came from 229s which I loved.

Could not get the slide to cycle. Could not disassemble it. A local LE Sig armorer diagnosed the problem to be a broken recoil spring. Fixed it for the cost of new spring assembly. Won't carry it because I don't trust it. Won't buy another Sig.

My understanding with the $55 charge is that SIG have been receiving guns shipped to them for silly reasons not of their fault. It costs time and money for SIG to look at guns shipped to them and they want customers to be serious that there is a problem so that's why they charge them.

Years ago I had to make a decision to stop carrying my 1911 as my daily carry. Because the public didn't understand it's okay to have the hammer cocked back. There were two guns in the shop that I really liked a sig p320. And the Glock 22 because of its stellar reputation in law enforcement. I decided to go with the Glock because I need it to work. That was 11 years ago and thousands of rounds later and it's still chugging along. Even with a 9 mm conversion barrel in it still works every time.

Sig relies on their customer base to do the field testing and then irons out the bugs in a future release. Any first generation striker fired Sig is doomed to have problems. My Glock 17 feels like a dinosaur compared to the P365 Fuse, but I have run HUNDREDS of rounds through it with zero issues.

There have been a couple of times I have passed on making a purchase due to the manufacturer's reputation and support. Smith & Wesson and Ruger are known for their good customer support. I had to use Ruger's customer service once on an LCR revolver when the 9mm version first came out. After describing the issue, they immediately sent me a prepaid shipping label and told me to send it back so that they can fix it. Outsourcing critical components to regions with questionable manufacturing standards has tarnished the brand's reputation for reliability. Meanwhile, Glock continues to reign supreme with its unwavering commitment to quality and performance. Glock’s perfection isn’t just a tagline-it’s a legacy built on unparalleled reliability, simplicity, and innovation. While SIG struggles with failures, Glock remains the go-to choice for professionals and enthusiasts who demand a firearm they can trust with their lives. Here is a fresh take.. and I stand by it cause I owned one and can’t stand the other.. the p250 was a better gun then the p365 but the marketing behind it was horrible and prob 97% of p365 owners don’t even know it came 10 years after sig had already made the same gun already more or less and it got no traction..
The p250 was the better gun and it was the true serialized trigger platform before the p320 or p365 was even a mental concept.
I wish smith or shadow systems or other companies had serialized trigger systems and such.. but I’ll stick with what I know and like.. I never liked the new stinker fired p300 series of pistols from the first time I dry fired one at the store as it felt like a toy gun.. I grew up shooting a p226 and fs92.. I couldn’t get over that and then came the drop issues, the initial 365 issues.. the fact the army spent all that money and isn’t using the p320 cause of the repeated issues still..
Sig is the new striker version of Kimber to me.. they used to be the cream of the crop with the 226 and 220 platforms..
The bulk of spec ops is still using Glocks.. the reason the 19x even exists in the commercial market is cause it was a military contract that fell through and they needed to seek all those pre build firearms.. the 19x was never supposed to be a commercial firearm lol.
My first competition gun was a p226.. I put so many rounds though it you could take the skid off the rails wo breaking it down cause the aluminum vs metal had a 50-60k max lifespan..
I have an fs92 that was my first firearm ever.. replaced the recoils rod at 70k and it’s still one of my go to pistols for reliability.
I live in Florida.. I couldn’t deal with spending p365 money and getting rugar lcp2 like finishes.. even a smith will rust on me in a few months.. what would an sig 375 do 😂😂😂. They are rusting for normal people in normal climate in 3 months time.. would last me 3 weeks in Florida..
All that said.. I won’t lie I fn hate Glocks.. they refuse to modernize at all.. I hate the ergos, I hate the grip angle… I also don’t shoot them as good as I should.. but I will never hate on them cause they work.. and on my wife’s nightstand is my old g19 with my old tlr2 light laser combo 😅.. it also has a factory flack 33 rounder in it full of hst.. I spend a lot of time working out of town.. that gun works.. that mag is more then enough to handle any situation.. and that laser on the old tlr2 as weak as that light is that laster is spot on to 15-20 yards on that gun and my wife can’t shoot red dots for some odd reason.. so that is what she gets when I’m out of town working for the week.. and it’s because I trust my life’s family to that might, that master, that mag, that ammo and that firearm.. cause they just all work wo issues..
I hate Glock but for the majority of people I’d tell them just get a g19 cause it’s the do all tried and true that just works wo issue.. not cheap, not fancy, grip socks, trigger take la getting used to.. but when your life is on the line you want a gun that works everytime wo issue and Glock imop is only second to Beretta imop for that and beretta maybe the one company less able to modernize with the time the Glock 😂😂 I don’t carry one anymore.. but if I were throwing in war gear tomorrow and waking out the door it would be very hard for me to not have a Glock on my hip at that time.. they have more then earned the respect and name

Having a pre-cocked striker in a gun with parts that were originally designed and tested for a hammer fired gun, (the p250)is still at the core of the problem I think. Even with a manual sear disconnect from the voluntary upgrade I think design is still flawed in that under certain conditions the plunger(like in glocks) holding the striker back, which in the case of the P320 is always under pressure can depress itself under its own weight or affirm jerk in a certain direction and I think still just let the striker forward and the gun would indeed just fire itself. No “” rqd.

If you really want to go for something modular - get a Beretta APX or Ruger RXM. Ridiculous.
As an aside, I can confirm the finish issues on Sig products have been persistant for some time. My 320 had rusty parts and 365 was rusting constantly. My 43x I've had for the past 2 years has been carried daily and has no speck of rust on it.

Ultimately went with the S&W after seeing an inordinate amount of reports of 365 issues in both 380 and 9mm. Zero regrets or issues with the Smith, lovely handgun, and I'm enjoying my "new" caliber. For the sub compact, I'd have to get a newer flat trigger style upgrade based on my preference compared to the hinged style on my M&P .22. Thinner or not, shield pluses and newer stuff just isn't exciting me compared to the older 2.0 "hefty" styles.

Sig Sauer scares the living crap out of me. I mean, I keep thinking I want to get one!
Only to strap on a 19, 19X, 26, or 30S before heading out ... and somehow or other the feeling goes away.
Who knew that knowing something will always bang - only when it should - was so cleansing and clarifying? Get the Glocks, and get home to see your loved ones that same day.

I was originally going to buy a sig for a pistol chassis project, but I just cannot get over the safety issues. I despise glocks, but I'll have to deal with it because it's the only other platform around for good chassis, and as bad as I am shooting it, at least it's safe and reliable

SIGs marketing team has done work. I don't own one. they make a fine product, but I've always found something I liked more, that usually cost less from SW M&P, CZ, Walther, Glock, or Ruger, etc. Wouldn't trade any of my Glocks, Shields, or M&Ps for one.

i would never carry it, but man my 320 axg is so nice. feels like the only gun i can hit shit with. its an amazing home defense gun, or just a range toy honestly. my problem with sig is just their ego. they think their the shit, and their new releases arent exactly backing that up lol. they are living off the still amazing p226 legacy

Can’t stand modern SIG. I’ve owned 226’s and 227’s, and both were solid. Had a 320 variant and a P938 legion and both were horrid.
The P320 RXP X-Compact had trigger slap so bad I sent it in to customer service. The tech calls and says “yeah it’s there and has significant trigger slap but we have no way to adjust it, and it’s a byproduct of the design so we’re sending it back.” $1000+ for a pistol that is less comfortable to shoot than a Taurus. Modern US sig is garbage, they made a mistake pulling their mfg. from Europe.
I’ve largely switched to HK’s and Walther’s, and couldn’t be happier. ACTUAL quality firearms with excellent customer service too.

I’m old school, bought a p365 and couldn’t get over the fact it didn’t have a manual safety. I really tried to over come my Fud tendencies but couldn’t. Had the option to add one and did, it was also ambidextrous, cool option to switch the mag release. This southpaw couldn’t be happier with sig 🤷‍♂️

My P320 which is California compliant was nothing but trouble from day one. First magazine in the gun at the range it didn’t go into battery…thought maybe because it new shot 200’rounds that day no problem. Each trip to the range it would get more no battery or failure to extract, stove top etc etc. the screw on the Romeo sight also sheered off. I have a couple of HK’s and a couple of Glocks never had an issue with those four guns and I put major rounds through them. Very disappointed because the Sig had the tightest grouping of any hand gun I’ve ever fired .

I had a front sight go dark on my 365x so I contacted Sig, heard back right away. Charged me nothing to send it in and in fact sent me a UPS shipping label. Had it back with a brand new front sight (and they sent it back in a better, Sig-branded box) in less than 2 weeks. Sucks for your buddy.
