Another great video Mike. Very much enjoy the effort you put into your channel. Question: Would it make sense to simply add some zerks to these joints to make maintenance easier? I guess MC recommends servicing them with their grease every 12 months or so.

No. There grooves are perpendicular to barrel so grease would only hit one or two. I like to pull them out because it's far easier to determine wear. To be honest, they do wear more than you think. I've had some where the centering ball isn't even attached anymore even though it didn't look like it.

I really like the Rancho/Synergy bushing style joints. Nothing to fail in their construction. They have a Teflon lining in the pin bore and a steel case which prevents that horrible squeaking. Those damn Duroflex units ain't so Durable. I got one year out of Johnny Joints, the delrin was worn out so there was zero preload on the spherical bearing. Just clankin' around on every little bump.

What a terrible comparison for control arm joints. The majority or flex/work they do is up and down. Very limited flex side to side in a control arm application. Any of these joints will work. If maximum movement is the goal a high misalignment heim joint beats all of these links. It all depends on application... Oem clevite rubber is a win for overall use IMO

What did they say about the hole sizes?

The bigger holes were for their "big bolt" version.

Is this issue with duroflex can cause death woobble?

    • @TheBFHGarage

It could help contribute but probably not the main cause. For DW, check things in this order: tire balance, track bar, tie rod ends, ball joints, unit bearings, control arm bushings, steering box. Getting your tires balanced correctly is key, I can't stress that enough.

Whats your opinion of these control arms. Looking to buy new CAs but thinking JJs for a little more money .

Go Johnny Joints if you can. They are the gold standard.

Any reason you chose MC joints over a JJ?

    • @TheBFHGarage

Great question! When I was making my decision on control arms, Metalcloak was relatively new to the game. I decided to give them a go over the JJ's because they were getting rave reviews at the time. If I were doing it all over again, I'd definitely go with JJ's. Sticking with MC joints right now instead of upgrading to Savvy/Currie control arms was an economic decision. They will find their way on my rig in the future.
