Man I feel like that CEO is living his dystopian fantasy. Who in their right mind writes that email, reads it and thinks "yea that's a great response to the backlash. let me send that real quick". This person is out of their mind.
Monopolies are unethical. That is only a controversial opinion if you happen to have just finally gotten a monopoly on something.
As a law student, it is imperative to assert that the actions undertaken by Snail Games Company do not align with the principles of fairness and benefit for all concerned parties. Their practices appear to place certain individuals at a disadvantage, which is contrary to the expected outcome when purchasing their game.
Typical CEO response that blames others and only says what we want to hear, not the truth. Disgusting. Down with Nitrado! We need different server providers!

Also am I the only one that finds it hilarious that bro keeps pushing the $4M loan like it was a big risk? That's alone tells how small and badly run his company is lol. Anyone who is even remotely in the know about game dev knows $4M is nothing in that industry lol
Short summary; guy who had a monopoly on server hosting rights is mad that people called him unethical for having a monopoly, and they were right.
So they're using a combination of gaslighting and strawmen to try and convince me that paying $30 a month just ao I can play with my brother and literally nobody else is a good thing for everyone involved?

Nitrado's "Unity Moment" just keeps getting worse for them. He pretty much patronized his employees, Snail/Wildcard, and ark players with his arrogance in that memo. He was made CEO just this year. I cant see him lasting there much longer with this sort of stupidity.

Snail did enough to convince me to never throw money at them again.
Snail is one awful thing but Nitrado having hands in this is making me hesitant to even consider getting the game. They are so detached and in a different plane of existence at this point.
I really wish more streamers would bring these issues to light! The gaming companies need to start getting held reliable for everything they are getting away with! ASA should have been Beta launched long before getting released, but of course there is no regulation of gaming companies charging for broken games!
Well called, Neddy. I had a feeling if there was any response to the backlash it would be as empty and soulless as Shi Hai looks. Seriously, his fugly mug screams "douchey sleaze ball." It's no wonder this situation, and the response, have been so poor. Incompetence starts at the top and trickles down to the product. Honestly, if Snail doesn't oust Shi Hai at some point or another, it's going down in flames. And so will all the companies under its thumb, and the IP's they've brought us.
I absolutely HATED Nitrado's service. Worst experience I ever had with a hosting company before I bought my own server hardware. I think more shady $hit will come on in the near future regarding crossplay features that they will keep exclusive to themselves.
